Chapter 1129 Who Leaked the News
"He's been rescued..." Father Nie sighed softly on the other end of the phone.
Nie Yao finally breathed a sigh of relief, but hearing her father's low voice on the other end of the line, she couldn't help but feel a little worried. She whispered, "Dad, is Grandpa... okay now? What did the doctor say?"
"We've given him some medicine and put him to sleep. The doctor said he survived this time, but he can't tolerate any more stress in the future, or he'll likely have a stroke. After Father Nie said this, his tone was full of self-blame.
"It's all my fault. I went back to a meeting and didn't stop your second uncle and Nie Jinxi, causing your grandfather to get mad at them!"
Hearing her father's self-blaming tone, Nie Yao felt uncomfortable too. She whispered to him in a consoling voice, "Dad, you can't be blamed entirely for this. Didn't you tell me before that Grandpa specifically told me not to tell Second Uncle? How come he still found out and rushed back from out of town?"
"I don't know who leaked the information to him..." Father Nie shook his head and replied with a frown.
"I'm afraid it's Nie Jinxi!" Nie Yao's face darkened slightly as she said coldly, "She must have wanted to find out about Grandpa, but she didn't dare come herself, so she told Second Uncle to go to the hospital together!"
Of course, she knew that Nie Jinxi definitely did not visit the old man out of kindness, but was just concerned about her grandfather's current health condition and was anxiously running around to figure out how much of the Nie family's property she could get!
Father Nie had been worried about Old Man Nie's health and hadn't thought too much about it. But now, hearing his daughter talk about Nie Jinxi, he nodded and murmured, "It must be her! I called her earlier and arranged a time for her to meet me to return the jewelry she stole from you. I didn't expect... she would actually ask her father for help and even go to find your grandfather with us!"

"Your second uncle was frightened and stayed in the hospital with me, not daring to leave. Nie Jinxi was sent away and should have returned to school!" Father Nie explained in a low voice.
Nie Yao nodded in understanding, thought for a moment, and said to his father, "Dad, you don't have to worry too much. I'll take care of Grandpa as soon as I finish my work!"
"What?" Father Nie was stunned for a moment, then asked worriedly, "Ayao, you just left not long ago, and you're back again. Doesn't that affect your archaeological work?"
"Some things must be dealt with upon returning!" After Nie Yao finished speaking, Father Nie felt he didn't quite understand. Just as he was about to ask, Nie Yao smiled and said, "I'll take care of my own affairs. Also, I'll contact Nie Xiao, and we'll take turns accompanying Grandpa!"
