Chapter 114 Bad taste
"Their goal is certainly not the Spear of Anubis!" Li Jinxing curled the corners of his lips slightly, and a cold light flashed in his eyes.
"That's just a tool to lure them out..."
"You are so extravagant that you use such an expensive thing to fish!" Nie Yao sighed.
"No matter how precious it is, it's not as valuable as my life!" Li Jinxing smiled noncommittally and subconsciously pressed his abdomen where the injury had not yet healed.
Nie Yao was originally teasing him, but upon seeing his action, she quickly held onto his arm and asked worriedly, "What's wrong? Is your wound hurting again?"
As she spoke, she tried to help him get into the car. After she helped him sit down and fastened his seat belt, he looked at her nervous look and suddenly laughed softly.
"I'm fine..."
"What did you say?" Nie Yao was stunned and looked up at him, thinking she had misheard.
"I said I'm fine and the wound doesn't hurt. I just remembered the situation when I was shot..." Li Jinxing explained with a smile.
"You should have said it earlier if you're fine. You scared me just now!" Nie Yao glared at him and gently punched him on the side. He immediately gasped, and fearing she might touch his wound, she quickly retracted her hand and muttered softly, "I didn't use any force. Stop scaring me!"
Hearing her say this, the curve of Li Jinxing's lips gradually widened, and two joyful low laughs escaped from his throat.
"What's so funny? Is it fun to tease me?" Nie Yao curled her lips and asked back unhappily. She really didn't understand why he had such a "bad taste" to deliberately scare her!
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you..." Li Jinxing shook his head, looked at her with burning eyes, and whispered, "I just like to see you worrying about me!"
"..." Nie Yao wanted to refute him, but when she met his burning gaze, she felt her heartbeat quicken and even her mouth became dry.
A blush slowly crept up her ears. She stared at him for a moment before looking away and mumbling, "I don't know what you're talking about!"
After she finished speaking, she sat up straight, looked straight ahead, and after a moment of calm, she said, "If you have nothing to do, please get off the bus!"
"Won't you take me back to the apartment?" Li Jinxing raised his eyebrows and asked with a smile.
"You don't have anything else to do?" Nie Yao looked at him in surprise and asked with a puzzled look on her face, "And where's your driver?"
"I have asked the driver to drive back first. We have finished what we need to do today. Now we just have to wait for news!" Li Jinxing looked at her calmly. Nie Yao shrugged helplessly and could only drive him back to the apartment.
After Nie Yao parked her car in the underground parking lot of the apartment, she handed one of the bags of vegetables and fruits to Li Jinxing, and then she got out of the car with a heavier bag of milk and eggs.
But the moment she turned around and left, Nie Yao always felt as if there was a figure passing by from a corner.
"Next time you need to purchase so many things, just call the driver and give him the money, so you don't have to carry all the bags back yourself!" Li Jinxing suggested to Nie Yao with a smile while pressing the elevator button.
Seeing that Nie Yao seemed absent-minded, he couldn't help but ask with a smile: "What are you thinking about? Are you distracted again?"
"Nothing..." Nie Yao came back to her senses and looked around the parking lot. There were only rows of parked cars. She didn't see anyone acting suspiciously.
