Chapter 1206: Sleepless
Nie Yao slept very deeply. When she woke up, she found that she was a little hungry. She stretched and slowly sat up.
She got up, washed up, and opened the door. A fragrance came up to her. She hurried out of the room to take a look and saw Li Jinxing sitting on the sofa downstairs, talking about something with the old housekeeper, with a bowl of soup in front of him.
It’s still early. Why did Li Jinxing come back so early?
Nie Yao hurried downstairs and walked over. Li Jinxing saw Nie Yao coming over, a smile appeared on his face, and he asked softly, "Yaoyao, are you awake?"
"Yeah, I woke up feeling a little hungry, and when I opened the door I smelled a delicious aroma..." Nie Yao lowered his head to glance at the bowl of soup in front of him, sniffed, and smiled, "This soup smells so good!"
"I'll go get another bowl for Madam!" the old butler said with a smile.
"No, I'll finish his!" Nie Yao waved her hand, picked up the bowl of soup in front of Li Jinxing, drank it all in one gulp, wiped her mouth contentedly, and praised: "It tastes really good!"
Li Jinxing shook his head in amusement, winked at the old housekeeper, patted her on the back of the head and said with a smile: "It seems that you are really hungry..."
"Yeah, I took a shower and went to sleep right after I got back. I slept so soundly that I didn't even know when you came back!"
Nie Yao nodded, picked up another piece of cake from the plate and took a bite. She asked Li Jinxing curiously, "Aren't you busy today? Why are you back so early?"
"It just so happens that I've finished everything, so I might as well come back early!" Li Jinxing curled his lips slightly, put his arm around her shoulders and asked with a smile: "Wouldn't it be nice for me to come back early to accompany you?"
Nie Yao also smiled and stuffed the remaining cake into his mouth, winking and jokingly said, "I don't need your company!"
"Then just pity me. After all, I was alone in the empty room last night..." Li Jinxing sighed, finished eating the half piece of cake she stuffed into his mouth, and whispered in her ear: "It's hard to sleep alone!"
Nie Yao burst out laughing, slapped him away, and glared at him in feigned anger: "Don't play pity on me. Before you met me, were you always alone and unable to sleep?"
"Yaoyao, I'm not playing the victim, I'm just telling the truth..." Li Jinxing shook his head and replied with a wry smile: "When I was a child, I even needed those Chinese medicines to help me sleep well, you know!"
Nie Yao remembered that Lin Xiaoxiao, Li Jinxing's childhood playmate, always secretly made sachets for him and placed them next to his pillow, and she fell silent for a moment.
"I'm sorry..." Nie Yao also knew that it took him a long time to get over the tragic death of his parents when he was a child!
Li Jinxing shook his head and smiled nonchalantly, ruffling her hair and saying, "You don't have to apologize to me. I heard that on your way back today, you encountered a crowd of people and someone attacked you?"
His expression grew serious. Nie Yao paused, thinking it was probably the driver or the old housekeeper who told him. He nodded and smiled, "Yeah, but it's not a big deal. It can't be considered an attack. They just blocked our way back to the villa, and a few irrational people were cursing..."
"I heard that they threw a lot of rotten eggs at you and cursed you very badly. Is this not a big deal?" Li Jinxing frowned and became angry when he mentioned this matter!
