Chapter 1368: Telling Tales
Steve walked in with a smile, changed his shoes, and put the food on the dining table. Only then did he notice that the senior sister's face was a little pale and she had been covering her stomach with her hands.
"Senior, what's wrong with you? Is your stomach problem coming back again?" Steve was shocked when he saw this. He hurriedly helped her sit down and went to find medicine for her.
"I knew it. You didn't take your medicine on time, so you must be prone to stomach problems again. It's a rare opportunity today that you don't have to go to the archaeological site. Senior sister, why don't you take good care of yourself!"
Steve kept talking, and Nie Yao was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. She waved her hands and said, "No need to look for medicine. I just took some stomach medicine. I just forgot the time because I was on the phone. I didn't mean to skip dinner..."
"What on earth are you calling about? You even forgot about dinner time?" Steve poured her another glass of warm water, held it in front of her, and asked with concern.
"Is it Mr. Li's call?"
"No..." Nie Yao sighed, shook her head and smiled bitterly, "It's my grandfather's!"
"I told you, Mr. Li cares so much about your health. If he called, he would definitely remind you to eat right away!"
Steve suddenly realized something. Seeing Nie Yao holding the water cup with a frown on her face, he seemed to have guessed something and asked cautiously, "Senior, you just said it was your grandfather who called? Did you two have an argument?"
"Why do you think so?" Nie Yao took a sip of warm water and asked back with a smile.
"Because Senior suddenly got a stomachache, it's probably because she was angry. I remember when Senior was seeing a doctor for stomach problems before, the doctor told her not to get too angry, otherwise it would easily cause stomach problems!"
Steve shrugged and asked with concern, "What did your grandfather say to make you so angry?"
"It's nothing, my stomach is much better now, you go back and rest!" Nie Yao didn't want to explain too much, waved her hand and began to urge Steve to leave.
"Okay, then senior sister, remember to eat. The meals are all hot!" Steve also stood up and did not forget to remind Nie Yao before leaving.
Nie Yao smiled and nodded in response. After sending Steve away, she sat alone on the sofa for a long time. Only when she felt her stomach felt a little better did she get up to eat.
After Steve left, he was still worried, so he called Li Jinxing and reported on his senior's situation.
Li Jinxing had just finished a meeting when he heard Steve say that Nie Yao's stomach problems had recurred, and it seemed that she was angry with her grandfather. His face suddenly darkened, and he immediately called Nie Yao.
Nie Yao had just finished her meal when Li Jinxing called.
"Hey, Ayao, are you having stomach problems again?"
Nie Yao was stunned for a moment, then shook her head and replied with amusement, "Is that talkative brat Steve telling tales on you again?"
"He's also worried about you..." Li Jinxing was glad that Steve was so talkative, and said softly: "Did you miss your meal again? Have you taken your medicine? If not, go to the hospital..."
"I'm fine. The pain is gone now. I've taken stomach medicine and eaten. Don't worry!" Nie Yao replied with a faint smile.
"I'm glad you're okay..." Li Jinxing breathed a sigh of relief and whispered, "I've heard from Steve that you don't have to go to the archaeological site this afternoon, so just have a good rest..."
He paused here and added, "Don't worry about your grandfather, I'm here!"
