"I'm outside..." Before Nie Yao could even finish her story about visiting the cemetery to pay respects to her mother and grandfather, Father Nie asked in a deep voice, "When did you move out of the apartment? Why didn't you tell Dad?"
"..." Nie Yao was stunned. She didn't expect that her father would call to question her about this matter.
"Dad, how did you know?" she asked hesitantly. She hadn't told anyone about this, not even her cousin. She had moved to Li Jinxing's villa!
"I came to your apartment today looking for you, but you weren't there, the refrigerator was empty, and all your luggage had been moved!"
Father Nie frowned as he spoke: "If I didn't have a spare key, I wouldn't have known you'd moved out like that!"
"Dad, I'm sorry..." Nie Yao said apologetically. She should have said goodbye to her father before moving out, but when she thought that her father might question her and Li Jinxing, she gave up the idea.
Father Nie obviously didn't accept such a lighthearted apology and angrily scolded him, "You moved out so quietly, you really don't take me, your father, seriously!"
"I'm not..." Nie Yao wanted to say something but was interrupted by Father Nie.
"Come back now. We need to have a face-to-face chat!" Father Nie said this, glanced at his watch, and added, "I'll wait for you at your apartment!"
After saying this, Mr. Nie hung up the phone without saying anything.
Nie Yao could only shrug helplessly and drive towards the apartment in the city center.
When she returned to the apartment her father had given her, her father had indeed arrived early and was sitting on the sofa in the living room waiting for her to come back.
Because Li Jinxing had already ordered people to move most of the things in the apartment, the apartment, which was already not small, now seemed even emptier.
"Are you back?" Father Nie was still flipping through a magazine in his hand. When he saw Nie Yao finally came back, he put down the magazine and asked in a light tone.
Nie Yao nodded in response. Seeing that her father was just sitting there without even a glass of water, she quickly smiled and said, "Dad, how long have you been here? Let me boil some water for you to make some tea."
"There's no need to make tea, a cup of hot water will do!" Father Nie said casually, knowing that she couldn't possibly have the best tea here.
Nie Yao quickly responded with a smile and turned to go to the kitchen to boil a pot of hot water.
Father Nie also stood up and walked around the apartment. When Nie Yao poured him some hot water, he couldn't help but ask, "Ayao, tell me honestly, is it because of Li Jinxing that you suddenly moved out?"
Nie Yao's hand trembled and the hot water almost splashed on the back of her hand.
