Chapter 450: Cracking the Cultural Relics Code

Chapter 450: Cracking the Cultural Relics Code

Li Jinxing also lowered his head and took a closer look. He saw that it was densely covered with various ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs. It might not be easy to decipher it all at once.

"Don't put too much pressure on yourself, take it slow..." Li Jinxing whispered comfortingly.

Nie Yao didn't answer. Instead, she concentrated on deciphering the code one by one according to the hints in the hieroglyphs. She murmured softly, "To the left, turn three times..."

As she muttered, she picked up the dressing box, pressed the lid and turned it three times to the left, then continued to whisper, "Twice to the right..."

Nie Yao continued to turn it to the right twice, then lowered her head to look carefully. After a long while, she suddenly realized what was going on. She picked up the dressing box and continued to turn it: "Four more turns to the left... then press the turquoise in the middle..."

She carefully pressed the turquoise in the center and waited with bated breath. With a click, the lid of the prototype dressing box popped open, and sharp teeth extended in all directions around the arc of the base.

"Be careful--" Li Jinxing hurriedly warned upon seeing this. Nie Yao immediately took her hand away swiftly and supported it on the base to avoid being scratched by the sharp teeth.

"I didn't expect that this dressing box is actually a mechanism!" Li Jinxing sighed thoughtfully.

Nie Yao frowned slightly, nodded, and murmured softly, "It seems that this ancient artifact is just disguised as a dressing box..."

She lowered her head and looked inside the dressing box. As she expected, there were several square-cut papyrus pictures hidden inside.

Nie Yao took out these square papyrus pictures and placed them on the table one by one. She was surprised to find that these papyrus pictures seemed to have been cut apart. If they were pieced together, they could form a fairly complete papyrus painting manuscript!

Looking closely, this manuscript looks more like a topographic map than a landscape painting!

"Yaoyao, what are drawn on these paintings?" Li Jinxing asked in confusion, as he had not expected that there would be these small drawings inside.

"It looks like a topographic map of a valley..." Nie Yao lowered her head, picked up the magnifying glass and continued to look at it carefully. The image of the Queen's Temple quickly appeared in her mind.

The Temple of the Queen is built with its back against the valley and surrounded by mountains on three sides. It is carved into a steep cliff. Until now, no one knows where the passage inside leads to. But on the other side of the steep cliff is the famous Valley of the Kings!

Could it be that the topographic map put together from these drawings is actually a topographic map of the internal connections between the temple and the Valley of the Kings?

When Nie Yao thought of this, she couldn't help but widen her eyes and sighed softly. If this was true, it would definitely be a major discovery!

Because when the Queen's Temple was built, there was clearly a shrine for the funeral, but the mummy of the female pharaoh Hatshepsut was not found. Instead, it was found in the tomb of the Valley of the Kings!

"Topographic map? Which topographic map?" Li Jinxing's question brought Nie Yao back to his senses.

Nie Yao put away the magnifying glass and slowly raised her head to look at Li Jinxing. There was excitement and ecstasy in her eyes: "Li Jinxing, this seems to be a major discovery!"

"Really?" Li Jinxing raised his lip slightly, raised his eyebrows, and asked with a smile, "So you're saying that these maps, when put together, actually form a complete topographic map, and are a more important discovery?"
