Chapter 499 Discouraging Words
Nie Yao was oblivious to Li Yaofeng's gaze and continued speaking earnestly to the Li family's parents standing in front of the tombstone, "Perhaps my family background isn't enough to help Li Jinxing, but I will use my own strength to help him, and also help the Li family find the person behind the scenes and uncover the secret behind the heirloom!"
Hearing Nie Yao mention the heirloom again, Li Yaofeng frowned slightly. Just as he was about to ask something, Nie Yao had already placed the roses neatly in front of the tombstone and then stood up.
With the help of the butler and Nie Yao, Li Yaofeng got back into the wheelchair.
A ray of sunlight came in through the woods and happened to fall on the two tombstones, also casting a beautiful golden glow on the roses in front of the tombstones.
The originally bright and juicy roses become even more vivid and charming under the cover of sunlight!
Perhaps it was because of the two freshly picked bouquets of flowers, the cemetery, which had originally had a somewhat gloomy atmosphere, now had a touch of warmth and vitality.
"Miss Nie, let's go?" Li Yaofeng looked at Nie Yao with an inquiring look and asked politely.
Nie Yao thought about it, and after saying what she needed to say, she nodded silently in response.
The group turned and left the cemetery. It was not until they boarded the tour bus and left the Li family cemetery that Li Yaofeng slowly spoke, "Miss Nie, are you surprised that I brought you here today?"
"It's a bit surprising, but not that surprising..." Nie Yao smiled faintly and answered honestly, "I originally planned to come with Li Jinxing to visit his parents, but I didn't expect that you, Mr. Li, would bring me here to visit them first!"
"Every generation of the Li family will be buried in the family cemetery, without exception, unless they are expelled from the family!"
Li Yaofeng smiled faintly and sighed softly, "If I hadn't been saved like my parents, there would be a place for me in this cemetery now!"
Nie Yao was stunned. She didn't expect him to say such an unlucky thing. She whispered to him, "Mr. Li, you're living well. Why say such depressing words?"
Li Yaofeng shook his head, sneered, raised his eyebrows and asked, "Miss Nie, do you think this is a discouraging statement?"
"Isn't it?" Nie Yao asked back in confusion, frowning.
Li Yaofeng didn't answer. He simply lowered his head and looked at his broken legs. He said in a dark voice, "I believe Jinxing has already told you what happened to my parents back then... If my mother hadn't rushed over to save me, I would have lost more than just my legs."
When he said this, his hands, which were originally hanging at his sides, unconsciously clenched.
"If my mother hadn't risked her own life to save me, she would have had a chance to survive. But she chose to save me, and I would have become a useless person..."
When Li Yaofeng said this, he raised his fist and hit his legs hard, and there was a bit of self-abandonment and violence on his face.
Nie Yao was also startled by his sudden action and quickly reached out to stop him: "Mr. Li, you don't have to do this..."
Nie Yao held his wrist tightly to prevent him from continuing to hit his own legs.
Li Yaofeng hadn't expected her to be so strong. He frowned at her and said unhappily, "Miss Nie, this is my own business. What does it have to do with you? I have no feeling in my legs. Do you think you can save them by stopping me?"
