Chapter 534 No Need to Thank You
Once again, I followed Li Jinxing's so-called "method" and was "thanked" by him.
It was not until late at night that Nie Yao was lazily carried into the bathroom by Li Jinxing, cleaned up, and then returned to bed.
"I don't need your thanks anymore..." Nie Yao curled her lips and said weakly.
Li Jinxing smiled and lifted the quilt, lying down beside her, holding her in his arms, kissing her forehead, and jokingly said, "Are you sure you don't need it? Your reaction just now clearly told me otherwise..."
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Nie Yao turned around, turned her back to him angrily, and pretended to close her eyes and fall asleep.
Li Jinxing shook his head in amusement, turned off the bedside lamp, put one arm around her waist, held her in his arms, kissed her ear, and whispered, "You're tired too, go to sleep, there's still a lot to do tomorrow..."
Nie Yao did not struggle in his arms anymore. She responded softly and soon fell asleep.

The next day, Nie Yao and Li Jinxing were awakened by a loud noise. Nie Yao rubbed her eyes and kept mumbling. Li Jinxing simply got up in his nightgown and saw the butler Owen and some male servants banging and hammering.
"What are you doing so early in the morning?" Li Jinxing asked unhappily while standing in the stairwell.
"Second Young Master, I'm sorry, I didn't want to wake you up, but time is limited, and I'm looking for someone to arrange the engagement party..." Butler Owen said with an apologetic smile.
Li Jinxing didn't want to blame him, so he shrugged and told him to be quieter before returning to the bedroom.
"What's going on outside?" Nie Yao rubbed her eyes and struggled to get up from the bed.
"Nothing, just setting up the venue for our engagement party. After all, my eldest brother gave orders to the butler Owen to get it done within three days!"
Li Jinxing lowered his head, kissed her cheek, and explained softly.
"What? Three days?" Nie Yao's sleepiness was instantly scared away. She stared at Li Jinxing with wide eyes, thinking she had misheard: "So soon?"
Li Jinxing nodded happily. Seeing her shocked expression, he scratched her nose and explained jokingly, "Yes, after all, we still have to set off with the heirloom, so the sooner the engagement ceremony, the better, to avoid delays!"
"But the time is too short, can it really be done?" Nie Yao asked hesitantly.
"Don't underestimate Owen's ability to get things done. A competent manor steward can easily arrange a small banquet in just one day!"
Li Jinxing curled the corners of his lips slightly, and smiled nonchalantly: "You don't have to worry too much. Since big brother has given Owen full responsibility for this matter, you just have to wait for the selection of the dress!"
Nie Yao nodded silently, lifted the quilt and was about to get up from the bed.
"Wouldn't you like to sleep a little longer?" Li Jinxing saw that she was in a hurry to get up, even though she was clearly sleepy just now, and asked hurriedly with concern.
"No..." Nie Yao shook her head and sighed softly, saying, "This is our engagement ceremony. Owen got up early to help us. There's no reason for me, the person involved, to be lazy!"
Li Jinxing couldn't help but laugh. He got up with her and went into the bathroom to wash up.
