Chapter 55: Housewarming
After giving instructions to his assistant, Li Jinxing stood up and walked to the wine cabinet, picked out a bottle of treasured red wine, took a look at it, and the corners of his lips rose slightly.
Nie Yao, who had finally finished cleaning up, was preparing dinner in the kitchen when she heard the doorbell ring. She hurried to open the door and found a young man standing at the door holding a large bouquet of flowers: "Ms. Nie, your flowers!"
"I didn't order flowers..." Nie Yao said puzzledly.
"Your name is Nie Yao, right? These are the flowers that a Mr. Li ordered for you. Please sign for them—"
Nie Yao accepted the large bouquet of flowers and placed them back on the table in the living room. She lowered her head and saw a card stuck in the flowers. She picked it up and read: "Congratulations to my little benefactor on his new home!"
The signature was clearly Li Jinxing.
Nie Yao shook her head, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. He was thoughtful enough to even think of sending a bouquet of flowers to her new home. It was worth it for her to take care of him so hard yesterday and even quarrel with the Nie family because she accidentally stayed overnight!
She picked up her phone and sent a message: "Thank you for the flowers--"
Without waiting for Li Jinxing to answer, Nie Yao found a vase and began to take care of the flowers he sent.
A large bunch of flowers had just been arranged and placed in the vase when the doorbell rang again. Nie Yao raised her eyebrows in confusion. Could there be something else delivered?
However, when she opened the door, the person standing at the door was not a courier boy, but Li Jinxing himself.
"Why are you here?" Nie Yao asked in surprise.
"You're moving today, how could I not come and help you celebrate?" Li Jinxing smiled faintly, raised the red wine in his hand and said with a smile: "Look, I even brought a bottle of good wine!"
Seeing Nie Yao frowning slightly, Li Jinxing raised his eyebrows slightly and asked thoughtfully, "Are you disappointed to see it's me?"
"It's not disappointment, it's surprise!" Nie Yao shook her head, her eyes fixed on his abdomen, her tone revealing worry: "Your wound has just been bandaged, and the doctor said you can't walk around!"
"Don't worry, I didn't move much, so it won't affect the wound!" Li Jinxing finally laughed and said, "I know you're new to this city and don't have many friends, but moving into a new home also needs some liveliness!"
"Thank you for your kindness..." Nie Yao sighed and finally let him in.
Li Jinxing walked into the living room, looked up at the surrounding decoration, smiled lightly and praised: "This place is well decorated!"
"It's already been renovated. I just came in to tidy up for a while..." Nie Yao poured a glass of warm water and handed it to Li Jinxing, shrugged and said with a smile: "Even the paintings on the wall were not arranged by me!"
"I know the apartments here are all decorated, but you add some color to it and make it less cold!"
Li Jinxing pointed at the pastoral-style tablecloth and the flowers she had arranged, and praised with a smile: "Although they are just some small details, they make this place much warmer!"
Nie Yao was somewhat surprised by his meticulous attention to detail and gladly accepted his praise. "Of course, thank you for the flowers, too. Actually, your own house could use a little sprucing up to make it less desolate..."
"Forget it, it's troublesome!" Li Jinxing shook his head, picked up the water cup and took a sip, and said with a chuckle: "Besides, I don't live there for long..."
Nie Yao was not surprised at all when she heard him say that. After all, as rich as he was, he probably had houses everywhere, and it was impossible for him to decorate every place meticulously!
"So that's not actually your home anymore..." Nie Yao shrugged amusedly, turned into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator.
