Chapter 56 A Trustworthy Person

Chapter 56 A Trustworthy Person

"How do you define the word home..." Li Jinxing frowned slightly, put down the water cup, stood up, and followed him to the kitchen, asking thoughtfully.

"Home doesn't need to be luxurious or bustling, but it should be a place where you can let go of your burdens, rest peacefully, and sleep soundly...it should be a haven where you can relax and find a place to rest!"

When Li Jinxing heard her words, he couldn't help but laugh at himself. He was afraid that he hadn't found such a place yet!

But Nie Yao, whose back was to him, didn't notice his self-deprecation. Instead, she thawed the beef she had bought from the supermarket and pointed at it, saying, "No one's home has an empty refrigerator! In fact, when I went back with you yesterday, I guessed that it wasn't your home!"

Looking at the smile on her lips, Li Jinxing was slightly stunned, then whispered: "Sorry..."

Nie Yao turned her head to look at him, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why are you apologizing to me? Just because of that sentence: I'm the only woman you brought home?"

"Nie Yao, actually..." Li Jinxing was thinking about how to explain, but Nie Yao interrupted him by shaking her head and smiling.

"You don't have to explain anything to me. I know Dr. Zhao said that because he wanted to find a suitable person to take care of you. And because I saved you before, I can be considered someone you can trust!"

Nie Yao's words directly exposed Li Jinxing's innermost thoughts.

Li Jinxing simply walked up to her, lowered his head and stared at her expression. He saw that she looked normal, but there seemed to be no anger in her clear eyes. Instead, there was a bit of calmness that seemed to see through everything, which inevitably increased his interest.

This woman is so young. The daughters of wealthy families of the same age as her are either in love or competing with each other for beauty. Only she... is mature and calm!

I don’t know if it’s due to her profession or the complicated experiences she has had since childhood!

"As expected of a top student, you saw through every little thought!" Li Jinxing clapped his hands and laughed, not hiding his intentions. He nodded happily and said, "You're right. I need someone I can trust to take care of me. You're perfect!"

"Are you so sure that I'm someone you can trust?" Nie Yao asked back with a smile.

"The fact that you saved my life without knowing my identity is enough to prove this!" Li Jinxing said in a deep voice.

No one would risk their life to save someone in a place like that, let alone a stranger!

"You saved me without worrying about getting into trouble. Just for this reason, I can trust you completely!"

Nie Yao pouted when he heard this, picked up the kitchen knife she had bought, and chopped the potatoes with both hands. Then she muttered softly, "You're wrong. I already feel like I'm in trouble!"

She saved him, and it would have been fine if she didn't ask him to repay her, but he insisted on repaying her, and in the end his way of repaying her ended up being to rely on her, and in the end she still had to take care of him until his old injury relapsed!

When Li Jinxing heard her complaints, he could see her annoyed expression even though his back was facing her. He shook his head and couldn't help laughing.

He didn't say anything more, but quietly left the kitchen and waited for the dinner she prepared.

Facts have proved that his wait was worth it. The dinner that Nie Yao prepared for the housewarming was rich and delicious, and the bottle of Bordeaux red wine he specially brought was also worth it.

The two sat at the dining table, sipping red wine while eating. Li Jinxing raised his glass towards her and said with a smile: "Congratulations on your new home—"
