Chapter 69 Asking Her for Help
He was used to Nie Yao's original English name, Ivy, and couldn't change it for the time being.
Li Jinxing raised his eyebrows slightly and asked thoughtfully, "Is it feasible?"
"Of course. Don't be fooled by her youth. She's very familiar with the history of Ancient Egypt and is no less than an expert in the field!"
Director Chen said this, looked at Nie Yao in front of him, and said earnestly: "Ivy, what do you think?"
"What do you want me to help you with?" Nie Yao asked in confusion.
Director Chen quickly explained the whole story to Nie Yao, who quickly understood. He hesitantly asked, "So, the situation is this: Li Jinxing has an artifact that's likely from ancient Egypt. He can't identify its age or the story behind it, so he wants to find out!"
"That's it!" Director Chen nodded and smiled.
"Why don't you ask the Cultural Relics Appraisal Institute for help?" Nie Yao asked in confusion.
"Because I want to investigate the origin of this cultural relic privately, I can't let too many people know!" Li Jinxing said in a light tone.
Nie Yao pondered for a moment and slowly said, "I can help... but I can't guarantee that I can find out the answer accurately. After all, I'm not specialized in cultural relic identification!"
As soon as Nie Yao finished speaking, Director Chen smiled. "That's enough, Mr. Li. What do you think?"
"Since Director Chen also strongly recommends it, I agree!" Li Jinxing curled his lips slightly, turned his head to look at Nie Yao, and said with a half-smile: "I believe you won't let me down!"
Nie Yao shrugged and muttered softly, "Don't hold such high hopes for me, or you'll be disappointed in the end..."
Director Chen didn't hear her whisper, but Li Jinxing heard it clearly. He smiled softly in her ear and said, "Don't worry, even if the result is not satisfactory, I won't blame you!"
After dinner, Director Chen handed a file bag to Nie Yao: "This contains some of the information I collected, as well as photos of cultural relics!"
"Photo? There's no real thing?" Nie Yao asked in surprise.
"It's not convenient to take out the actual object for the time being..." Li Jinxing replied indifferently.
Nie Yao sighed helplessly. With only photos, the difficulty would be even greater. But since she had promised Director Chen and Li Jinxing, she couldn't go back on her word and refuse!
After seeing Director Chen off, Li Jinxing saw that it was still early and suggested with a smile, "How about I take you for a drive? You're new in this city and haven't seen the night view here yet?"
"No need for a ride, just take me home. I have accepted such a big task from you, I dare not delay it!" Nie Yao rejected his invitation and said seriously.
"Don't worry, there will be a reward after the task is completed!" Li Jinxing said with a low laugh.
Nie Yao shook her head in amusement. She had never thought about the reward, but after just one look at the photo of the cultural relic, she felt itchy and wanted to find out what it was like!
On the way back, she looked through the file bag and saw some of the information and the photo compiled by Director Chen. She couldn't help but mutter in surprise.
"What's strange?" Li Jinxing also lowered his head and took a look at the photo in her hand.
"It's not what I thought..." Nie Yao said this, put down the photo, and asked doubtfully, "Li Jinxing, why do you suddenly want to find out the specific age of this artifact?"
Li Jinxing did not answer.
