Chapter 7: Crashed
She had to admit that what her junior Steve said was right. This man's appearance was indeed no less stunning than those ancient Egyptian pharaohs who amazed the world!
I hope he can be picked up safely by his men without any more accidents...
Nie Yao put down the drawing paper and subconsciously touched her neck. Then she remembered that her amulet seemed to be mixed in the painting before, but now it was nowhere to be seen.
She searched her bag thoroughly, even her pockets, but couldn't find the amulet.
Where did you go?
Nie Yao thought about it carefully, and suddenly a thought flashed through her mind: Could it be that she accidentally fell on the camp?
She tried to call Steve, but no one answered. Nie Yao slapped her head in frustration and decided to go back and look for it herself!
It was completely dark and the whole old house was silent. Nie Yao packed her backpack and left quietly. As soon as she reached the gate, she saw a car parked at the door. Outside the car, there was a man and a woman, who were flirting with each other and seemed to be very affectionate.
Perhaps they heard her movement, the man and woman immediately stopped their passionate kiss and turned around to look at her.
"You?" Under the dim streetlight, the woman's expression suddenly changed when she saw Nie Yao, and her tone became a little panicked: "Are you Nie Yao?"
Nie Yao nodded happily, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Who are you?"
The woman didn't answer. Her male companion stepped forward, looked at Nie Yao in the dim light, and asked thoughtfully, "Jinxi, is she your sister Nie Yao who you just found?"
Nie Jinxi murmured a response, but before she could say anything more, the man sneered and mocked her, "She doesn't look that good at all. She's really just a wild girl. She doesn't have the demeanor of the eldest granddaughter of the Nie family at all..."
"Whether I have style or not doesn't seem to be something for an outsider like you to judge, right?" Nie Yao retorted with a sneer.
"You—" The man frowned and asked unhappily, "Do you know who I am?"
"Who you are is none of my business." Nie Yao snorted coldly and said with a look of disapproval.
The man was so angry that he wanted to argue, but was persuaded by Nie Jinxi: "Minghuan, you go back first..."
"Okay, I'll be leaving first. Call me if you have anything..." The man lowered his head and kissed Nie Jinxi's face. He then glanced coldly at Nie Yao and whispered, "If this wild girl bullies you, remember to tell me!"
Nie Jinxi responded softly and watched the man drive away. Seeing Nie Yao already walking away with her schoolbag on her back, she quickly shouted, "Nie Yao, stop—"
Nie Yao stopped and asked unhappily, "Do you have anything else to do?"
"You just came back today, where are you going?"
"I have something to do and I need to leave. You should be a member of the Nie family, right? Please give me a message and tell them that I have something urgent to do..." After Nie Yao said this, she was about to continue on her way, but Nie Jinxi hurriedly called her back.
"Wait, you can't leave—"
Without waiting for Nie Yao to answer, Nie Jinxi trotted over to catch up with her and said breathlessly, "You came back today. If you leave like this, Grandpa will be unhappy..."
Nie Yao was about to argue when she saw the searchlight at the door come on. Butler Lu hurried out in his coat, "Miss, it's a good thing you didn't leave. The master asked me to call you over!"
Nie Yao had no choice but to follow Butler Lu back to the old house. Nie Jinxi followed closely behind, and the group came to the side hall where the lights were on.
"Master, the two young ladies are here..." Butler Lu whispered to Mr. Nie who was drinking hot tea.
