Chapter 826 No One Left Alive
"Kill them all?" Before the person in charge, Moss, could speak, Nie Yao frowned, stood up, and asked in a deep voice, "Are you sure?"
"It can be confirmed that all the criminals have been killed!" The guard who came to report nodded and said meticulously.
"Great..." The person in charge, Moss, breathed a sigh of relief and said to Nie Yao with a smile, "It seems that Miss Nie's previous suggestion was very useful. It really exposed the people behind the scenes and then caught them all in one fell swoop. Now that the cultural relics have been safely returned to the museum, the archaeological work will be no problem!"
"Not good..." Nie Yao frowned and shook her head.
"Why?" The person in charge, Moss, was stunned and asked in confusion.
"They killed them all, which means not a single one was left alive..." Nie Yao said thoughtfully, "I always feel that there is a conspiracy here, just like the last time we finally caught one of the gang's men, but he suddenly died of poisoning before he could even be interrogated!"
Upon hearing this, the person in charge, Moss, narrowed his eyes slightly and quickly said to the guard in front of him, "Go down and search the area carefully. If there are any suspicious people, take them alive!"
"Yes!" The two guards responded quickly and were about to turn around and leave when they were stopped by Nie Yao again.
"Wait, among those gangsters who were killed, check if there is a guy named Osiris?"
The two guards nodded, agreed, and turned to leave.
"Ms. Nie, could the Osiris you mentioned be the leader of that gang of criminals?" asked the person in charge, Moss, hesitantly.
"Well, I heard from the police that the person they arrested and interrogated mentioned this name, but I think this Osiris might just be his alias!"
Nie Yao sighed softly and said in a quiet voice, "But he's hiding deep in Sudan's tropical rainforest, making him very difficult to catch. That's why I suggested a plan to trick him out. Now it seems... he might not have fallen for it!"
"Miss Nie, don't worry. Even if we don't catch him, he sent so many men here to try to steal our cultural relics, but they all failed and were killed. This is still a big blow to him!"
The person in charge, Moss, comforted Nie Yao with a faint smile.
Nie Yao pondered for a moment and murmured softly, "I have a feeling that Osiris would never intentionally send so many of his men down to die. Could he have some other motive?"
When she said this, her expression changed slightly and she said, "Oh no! What if he's trying to divert attention? I need to go check on my adoptive father and Steve and the others..."
Nie Yao was about to get up and leave, but was stopped by the person in charge, Moss.
"Miss Nie, are you worried they're planning to attack the excavation site?" Moss, the person in charge, waved his hand and whispered, "Don't worry, I'll just give them a call. They've also posted a number of guards over there. If there's any movement, I'll definitely be aware of it!"
Nie Yao nodded and watched as the person in charge, Moss, made a phone call and said that everything was normal over there and no gunshots were heard.
Nie Yao finally breathed a sigh of relief and picked up her phone to call Steve. Steve wiped his forehead with a towel and smiled at Nie Yao, "Don't worry, Senior Sister, everything is going well here. The weather is too hot right now, so we're going to have everyone go back for lunch and rest, and continue in the afternoon!"
