Chapter 9 The Man in the Dream
Nie Jinxi bit her lower lip, nodded, and whispered, "Well, I know you don't like me and think I've taken away your status as a rich daughter, but I never thought this would happen. I was really scared... I was afraid that if you came back, everyone would abandon me..."
When she said this, she was about to cry.
Nie Yao made a "pause" gesture and replied calmly, "Stop. The fact that you're still here means you haven't been driven away. I'm not a petty person. No matter what your status in the Nie family is, remember that the grace of raising you is the most important thing!"
Nie Jinxi was stunned. She obviously didn't expect Nie Yao to answer like this. It was different from what she expected, and she couldn't say the words she had prepared.
"Also, don't call me sister, just call me by my name!" After saying this, Nie Yao turned and left.
Nie Jinxi looked at Nie Yao's figure and heard her say "Don't call me sister". The confusion on her face gradually disappeared, and a hint of unwillingness appeared in her misty eyes.
Nie Yao returned to her room and sat dejectedly in front of the dressing table, staring at herself in the mirror in a daze.
She has an adoptive father, her own friends, and a favorite job. In fact, it doesn’t matter whether she can return to the Nie family or not. Instead, everyone in this family is "kidnapping" her by using her identity as the eldest granddaughter!
The fake daughter was worried that she would come back and take her place. Her grandfather's words were a reminder for her to be more generous. The others mocked her, calling her a wild girl who was unworthy of being the granddaughter of the Nie family...
Nie Yao smiled self-deprecatingly. If her biological mother were still alive, perhaps everything would be different!
The sachet embroidered with the word "Yao" was regarded by her as a talisman and was her greatest comfort when she was alone over the years!
Nie Yao did not sleep well that night.
In her dream, the man on the drawing paper actually walked out of the drawing paper, quietly walked to her bedside, and whispered with a smile in her ear: "You saved me, and you just left without saying goodbye?"
Wasn't it him who left without saying goodbye?
Nie Yao was about to ask him back, but he leaned over and placed a kiss on her lips, then smiled softly and said, "I told you I would repay you..."
"How do you want to repay me?" Nie Yao couldn't help but ask.
"Will you promise me your body?" The man chuckled and breathed into her ear, scaring Nie Yao so much that she woke up from her dream.
Nie Yao opened her eyes and looked at the sky, only to find that it was already bright outside. The man's low laugh and light kiss were so real that it didn't seem like a dream.
She subconsciously touched her lips and shook her head in self-mockery. What had happened to her? She had just saved the man's life, but now she was having... a wet dream?
Nie Yao shook her head in amusement. After washing up, she was completely awake. She saw the drawings on the dressing table and put them away. However, she found that the sketch of the man was missing!
Nie Yao searched the room but couldn't find the drawing. She could only frown in confusion. She remembered that she had locked the door at night. It was impossible for someone to sneak in just to take away her drawing?
With doubts, Nie Yao asked Butler Lu specifically when she went downstairs for breakfast.
"Miss, you're worrying too much. There has never been a theft here..." Butler Lu said confidently.
