Chapter 1428: Night Departure
"Okay..." The others didn't say much. As they were about to leave the hotel and get in the car with Nie Yao, they met a group of tourists returning from a trip.
"Huh? Ivy--" A young man immediately recognized Nie Yao from the crowd and called out to her with a smile.
Nie Yao looked up and saw that the group of tourists returning to the hotel were none other than the handsome young man Henry and his friends!
Nie Yao responded politely as a reply.
"We just came back from visiting a scenic spot..." Young Henry strode over and, upon seeing Nie Yao with a backpack, he couldn't help but ask with concern, "It's so late, are you planning to go out?"
"Yeah!" Nie Yao nodded and smiled vaguely.
"It's too late. It's not safe for you to go out alone..." Young Henry looked around and didn't see Steve with Nie Yao. He smiled and suggested, "How about this? Wherever you want to go, I'll go with you and take care of you on the way!"
"No need, I have companions!" Nie Yao smiled and pointed at several of her companions, both men and women. Young Henry looked them over for a few seconds before shrugged and said with some regret: "Okay, then I won't join in the fun! Be careful!"
Nie Yao thanked him, said goodbye to Henry, and left the hotel with her teammates and got on the car to the underground palace.
Henry quietly watched Nie Yao get on the car and leave, his eyes slightly narrowed, until a companion came over, patted him on the shoulder and asked, "Hey, what are you looking at? It's time to go!"
"You guys go up first..." Henry said absentmindedly to his companions, then turned around and made a phone call.
By the time Nie Yao and his team members arrived at the underground palace, it was already completely dark.
Nie Yao explained the situation to the guards at the archaeological site, and then everyone tied up their safety ropes and descended into the underground palace one by one...
"Captain, we forgot to ask the natives to come along. Maybe they can be of some help..." someone said hesitantly.
The others nodded in agreement. Nie Yao glanced at the time and said with a faint smile, "Forget it. It's too late tonight. If we don't find anything tonight, we can call them together tomorrow night!"
Perhaps it was because the night was too dark, or perhaps it was because the underground palace was close to the desert at night and the temperature dropped even lower. After everyone went down, even though they had put on thick clothes, they still shivered suddenly.
For safety reasons, Nie Yao didn't dare to let everyone separate. They all moved forward slowly in the underground palace one by one, and finally found the secret room!
Nie Yao picked up the flashlight and shone it towards the ceiling of the secret room corridor. Sure enough, it was a mural with some defects!
Seeing Nie Yao looking up at the mural on the ceiling, the others also looked up. Someone pointed at a missing corner of the mural and said, "Look, there's a missing corner there. It looks a bit unfortunate..."
"Indeed, this mural is very similar to the one in the prayer room of the Queen's Temple, but that prayer room was deliberately vandalized before, and coupled with the wind and sun, the mural is not very complete. However, this mural is in the underground palace, and no one has vandalized it, so how could it be incomplete?"
