Chapter 53 Let's be together

Chapter 53 Let's be together

Xu Weisheng booked a private hot spring at a hotel, which is not located in the city center. If you don't choose public transportation, you have to take a taxi to get there.

There was no doubt that President Xu was not short of money, but Jian Zhen stopped him and suggested taking the tram instead.

"Why?" Xu Weisheng asked, puzzled, but did as instructed.

"Because this doesn't count as a business trip, I don't want to take advantage of you too much," Jian Zhen explained generously.

“But… I added this plan on my own initiative, and I didn’t discuss the location with you.” Xu Weisheng was still trying his best to persuade Jian Zhen.

“Didn’t you ask me?” Jian Zhen looked at him calmly and repeated their conversation: “You asked me if I wanted to go to the hot springs tonight, and I agreed. Agreeing means that I will accept whatever arrangements you make.”

Xu Weisheng fell silent. It seemed that this approach was not working, so he had to try a new angle: "It's just taking a taxi. Even if you're not here, I would still have to take a taxi. It's not like I'm taking advantage of you."

Jian Zhen laughed and said, "If you weren't here, I wouldn't have taken such a long ride by myself. You don't need to make excuses for me. I have received some benefits from you, and I neither deny nor resist them, but I have to control myself. If I accept everything you give me without hesitation, I will soon be unable to accept public transportation and unable to leave my jewelry mansion."

Xu Weisheng looked at her, his lips moved, but before he could think of what to say, Jian Zhen answered for him first: "I'm not saying this because I doubt you will go bankrupt one day, nor am I worried that you will come after me and make me pay back the money. I just want you to understand that there is indeed a gap in our material conditions, but that doesn't mean that just because we are in a relationship, I have to change my lifestyle to cater to your spending habits. Maybe to outsiders it seems like there is no cost, but I know myself that it will make me lose myself."

After saying that, she looked at the stunned Xu Weisheng and shrugged, saying, "Sorry, it's a bit roundabout—"

Xu Weisheng took her hand and interrupted her, saying, "I understand. It's okay, we'll take the tram."

It was already getting late when they arrived at the hotel. A simple meal was prepared in the room, mostly cold dishes, which the two of them found unappetizing. Jian Zhen muttered to herself, "No wonder the Japanese don't eat."

Xu Weisheng was looking around for wine when he heard this and laughed, raising his voice to say, "So what if you speak loudly? They don't understand Chinese anyway."

Jian Zhen was speechless, her face turning ugly. She retorted, "Why didn't you speak louder?"

Xu Weisheng readily agreed and shouted at the ceiling, "I have absolutely no appetite!"

Jian Zhen couldn't hold back and turned her head to laugh. She found that Xu Weisheng was quite cute at times. This cuteness didn't come from his role as a young heir, nor from his identity as a genius animator. So where did it come from? Perhaps going back to their arrogant and unruly school days would provide the answer. It's just a pity that they missed each other forever in the same space but at different times.

She stepped forward, snatched a glass of amber-colored dry white wine from Xu Weisheng's hand, and took a sip herself.

"How is it? Is it good?" Xu Weisheng asked her, holding the bottle.

“Not bad, what does this say?” Jian Zhen asked, pointing to a line of Roman numerals engraved on the wooden cup holder.

"Drink in moderation, and please do not get drunk and soak in the hot spring." Xu Weisheng read out each word carefully, and the two of them were embarrassed, not knowing what to do with their drinks.

"Then I'll just finish this glass..." Jian Zhen scratched her chin, guiltily picked up her glass and left, starting to wander around the room. Unlike the modern hotels in the city center where every inch of land is precious, the decoration style here retained the rustic flavor of Japanese architecture. The bathroom sink felt like it had the natural texture of granite, and the bedroom bed was much more spacious. Private hot spring... she searched around before realizing it was outdoors.

Despite being outdoors, the privacy was excellent. The private hot spring was surrounded by a ring of artificial hills, or perhaps they weren't artificial hills at all, because Jian Zhen looked up and saw the distant mountain peaks under the dark blue night sky. If you listened carefully, you could also hear the sound of the wind rustling through the forest.

The private hot spring was quite warm. As the evening air cooled down, steam rose from the surface of the pool. Jian Zhen had finished her drink. She took a shower, removed her clothes, wrapped herself in a towel, and went to the edge of the pool. She slowly submerged herself in the water, leaving only her shoulders and above above the surface.

Xu Weisheng arrived quite a while later. The water rippled, but Jian Zhen didn't look in his direction at all. They both knew what might happen next, but neither of them brought it up.

Amidst the rising steam, Xu Weisheng inappropriately started talking about the data performance of the Hundred Demon Records after its launch. When discussing the highlights of the mediocre side quests, he almost attributed all the credit to Jian Zhen alone. At first, Jian Zhen could barely agree, but later she couldn't help but laugh and stopped him, saying, "Let's talk about something else."

Xu Weisheng said "Oh," and after racking his brains, he said, "I have some old gossip from my childhood when I was a billiards player. Would you like to hear it?"

Jian Zhen smiled and said, "I'd love to hear it, but not now."

Their gazes met through the swirling mist; neither moved nor spoke.

A moment later, Xu Weisheng foolishly revealed, "Actually, I was going to say that the moon is beautiful tonight, but it's a cloudy day."

“I quite like cloudy days.” Jian Zhen looked at the night sky, then at him, and said softly, “Xu Weisheng, let’s be together.”

Two figures stood close together by the pool, merging into an inseparable body. The place was so quiet and elegant that when they first embraced, all they did besides the trembling in their bodies was to kiss each other tenderly. But the kisses soon weren't enough; they ignited a fire within each other. As the fire burned brighter and brighter, the water became an obstacle.

They hastily threw on bath towels and returned to the bedroom. Before they were even completely dry, the towels fell to the floor. As they collapsed onto the bed, Jian Zhen's chest was still receiving his passionate kisses. She gripped the sheets with one hand and ran the other through Xu Weisheng's hair, her mind racing with thoughts like whether she would pluck out a few strands of his hair, or whether his actions would leave obvious hickeys...

"What are you thinking about?" Xu Weisheng kissed his way down her collarbone, neck, and ear. Through so many intimate encounters, he had figured out some of Jian Zhen's body switches, such as the skin behind her ear that connects to her neck. Biting it would make her tense up all over, and it always worked.

"No." Jian Zhen's hand moved down his head, her fingers tracing lightly along his skin to his waist, and she whispered, "You've practiced well."

Xu Weisheng couldn't help but laugh. He propped himself up on his hands, looked down into her eyes, and said, "You are beautiful too."

Jian Zhen looked back at him and subconsciously said, "Thank you."

Xu Weisheng smiled even more brightly: "You're very cute, you know that?"

"Hmm...I roughly know." Jian Zhen's eyes darted around. Men's minds are very simple—she defined herself as more than just beautiful and cute, but at this moment, she could accept his simplicity.

“I love you as you are. I love you whether you ride in a pumpkin carriage, a luxury car, or a bicycle. If I had to choose between Xu Lijun’s wealth and you, I would choose you without hesitation.” Xu Weisheng lowered his head slightly and tucked the stray hairs behind her ears, looking at her earnestly: “I love you, Jian Zhen, and I love you more and more.”

Jian Zhen blinked, swallowed a mouthful of non-existent saliva, and stared at him, saying, "Don't say things like that. If you're penniless, I won't go live under a bridge with you."

Xu Weisheng gently rubbed her earlobe and asked, "So, are you going to kick me out?"

"Maybe," Jian Zhen snorted.

“Looks like I’ll have to work even harder at ribbon-cutting in the future.” Xu Weisheng said as he raised his upper body and knelt down. Jian Zhen turned her head following his hand gesture and saw him take out a box of condoms from the bedside table drawer, tear it open, and pour out four individual small packages.

"We won't use them all up, will we?"—She swallowed the words back. She was eager to try, but also a little afraid of the unknown. Only now did she realize that she shouldn't have provoked him by saying she wanted to kick him.

"Want me help?" Xu Weisheng took her hand.

Jian Zhen's hand was wrapped in his, and she dared not look in that direction at all. She could only force herself to look at the side of the bed, but the sensation in her hand still startled her.

Her hand instinctively tried to pull away, but Xu Weisheng didn't stop her. They usually had a lot in common, so when it came to this, they were both a little embarrassed to talk. He put one arm under Jian Zhen's buttocks, lifted her waist slightly, and then slowly thrust in.

Jian Zhen was breathing heavily, trying her best to open her body, but it was difficult at first. Xu Weisheng saw her close her eyes and frowned. In that instant, his eyes inexplicably welled up with tears. He wanted to confess his feelings, but his throat was hoarse and he couldn't make a sound. So he leaned down and kissed her forehead. Slowly, Jian Zhen's hands, which were gripping the sheets, climbed onto his waist.

When Jian Zhen opened her eyes, tears uncontrollably overflowed from her eyes, sliding down her cheeks and disappearing into her temples. She slowly raised her gaze and met Xu Weisheng's red eyes, only to find that the other person was also about to cry. And in the next second, a hot tear hit her cheek.

"Let's stay together forever, okay?" Xu Weisheng thought to himself.

Jian Zhen smiled, she must have heard her.
