Chapter 342 Major Safety Accident

Yang Qiaoqiao looked anxiously toward the cement factory gate. "Mom, I want to wait a little longer."

Even if she can't be of much help right now, she shouldn't cause trouble.

She should at least stay here, keeping the man company from afar.

Lin Xiaohui knew that even if Yang Qiaoqiao went back, she would still be worried about this place and wouldn't be able to rest at all.

He didn't try to persuade her, he just stayed with her and waited.

Ambulances with sirens blaring were seen driving out of the factory area.

Yang Qiaoqiao counted, and a total of sixteen ambulances drove away, which means that at least sixteen people were injured.

Moreover, according to Yang Hongying, it is very likely that some people died on the spot without even having the chance to get on an ambulance.

Sure enough, after all the ambulances had left, three stretchers covered with white sheets were carried out of the factory, accompanied by mournful cries.

Zhu Dong came out with the three stretchers.

However, Huo Beixiao was not seen.

Yang Qiaoqiao wanted to go over, but Yang Hongying stopped her.

"Qiaoqiao, don't go over there yet. You're heavily pregnant now, and if someone does something to you, it will be hard for you to avoid them."

Judging from their appearance, they seem to want to take the body home to the family compound first. I'll go back and check on things. I'll let you know again once they've calmed down and are no longer acting impulsively.

Lin Xiaohui, Song Lixiang, and Luo Yingzi also joined in the persuasion.

Yang Qiaoqiao touched her already large belly, but still listened to advice and didn't go over.

In her past life, she had already experienced the pain of miscarriage and infertility; in this life, she dared not take the risk.

"Sister-in-law, after you get back to the family compound, please tell Brother Zhu Dong to call me when he has some free time."

Yang Qiaoqiao instructed Yang Hongying.

"Yes, Qiaoqiao, don't worry," Yang Hongying nodded in response.

Yang Hongying went back to the cement factory's residential compound.

Yang Qiaoqiao continued to wait at the factory gate, hoping to see if Huo Beixiao would come out.

Instead of seeing Huo Beixiao, they received a phone call from him.

Yang Qiaoqiao answered the phone, and before anyone could hear her, she already knew it was Huo Beixiao. She quickly said, "Brother Xiao, I'm at the cement factory gate. How's the situation on your end?"

"Qiaoqiao, you go back first. I'm already at the city hospital in an ambulance." Huo Beixiao's cold voice came through the receiver.

Yang Qiaoqiao nodded, "Okay, I'll listen to you and go back now."

She had barely finished speaking when the call was disconnected, leaving only a busy tone on the receiver.

At this moment, Yang Qiaoqiao took Lin Xiaohui's hand and said, "Mom, let's go back."

Shortly after Yang Qiaoqiao and Lin Xiaohui returned home, she received a call from Zhu Dong.

As soon as Yang Qiaoqiao answered the phone, Zhu Dong said quickly, "Sister-in-law, don't go back to your family compound these few days, and it's best not to stay in Yun County either. It would be safer for you to stay in the provincial capital for a while."

"Brother Zhu Dong, what exactly is the situation now?" Yang Qiaoqiao asked.

Zhu Dong then explained in detail: "Boss Huo has already gone over to deal with the injured, but I'm not entirely sure about the outcome."

Regarding the deceased, I'm currently negotiating compensation with the family, but things aren't going smoothly yet; the family is very emotional. We'll probably have to wait a couple of days until they've calmed down a bit before we can continue negotiations.

After a moment of silence, Yang Qiaoqiao said, "Brother Zhu Dong, you're negotiating compensation. We'll give you 50% more than the usual compensation."

"Fifty percent higher?" Zhu Dong was shocked when he heard this number.

However, after only a brief moment of shock, he replied, "Okay, sister-in-law, don't worry, leave it to me."

Then, Yang Qiaoqiao asked about the specific circumstances of the incident.

Zhu Dong's account of the incident was largely consistent with Yang Hongying's.

But Yang Qiaoqiao couldn't quite understand. "Brother Zhu Dong, I remember there's a rule in the factory that trucks can't go more than 20 miles per hour after entering the factory area."

At such a slow speed, even if it went out of control, a person should be able to avoid it, let alone break the factory's load-bearing pillars.

Zhu Dong also sighed, "That car had already lost control outside the factory area, and it rushed directly from outside the factory into the ** area at a speed of nearly 120 miles per hour."

A strong sense of unease flashed through Yang Qiaoqiao's mind.

In this day and age, traffic rules are not as strict as in later generations.

However, the road outside the cement plant is narrow and it is right next to the residential compound, so drivers generally assume that the speed will not exceed 40 miles per hour.

The driver who caused the accident was going 120 miles per hour, and she suspected that it was done intentionally.

She thought for a moment and then asked, "Brother Zhu Dong, what are the current arrangements at the factory?"

"Production has been temporarily halted. As for the cleanup, Boss Huo has already called Guo Tao back to oversee the situation," Zhu Dong told Yang Qiaoqiao truthfully.

Yang Qiaoqiao frowned slightly upon hearing this. "Brother Tao is back. Who's in charge of the provincial capital shopping mall now?"

Zhu Dong said, "Miss Tong is over there, and Guo Tao left Chuanzi there too."

Yang Qiaoqiao had also met Chuanzi, whom Zhu Dong mentioned.

He was considered one of Huo Beixiao's most capable subordinates in the second tier, besides Zhu Dong and Guo Tao.

There's no doubt about this person's loyalty to Huo Beixiao. He's very skilled, but a bit arrogant and self-willed. He has plenty of fighting ability, but his brain isn't quite up to par.

After telling Zhu Dong to be careful, Yang Qiaoqiao hung up the phone.

She then immediately called Tong Xuejiao.

If the cement plant incident wasn't an accident, then the other party clearly had ill intentions.
