Chapter 614 You think my place is too small?

Yang Qiaoqiao looked into Huo Beixiao's eyes.

Those deep eyes were full of sincerity.

Yang Qiaoqiao's heart skipped a beat for no reason. After realizing what had happened, she immediately looked away and pulled her hand back from Huo Beixiao's large hand.

"You cook, I'm going out now."

After saying that, she practically fled the kitchen.

Dinner was cooked by Huo Beixiao.

I made a steamed egg custard, a braised pork belly, and a stewed pig's trotter that was stewed until very tender. I also made mashed potatoes.

Everything was food that could be eaten without teeth, which was perfect for Grandma Tong. The rice was also a thick porridge.

Grandma Tong was very satisfied with Huo Beixiao's cooking skills and ate a few extra bites of food.

After dinner, Yang Qiaoqiao chatted with the old lady for a while longer until it was completely dark before she prepared to say goodbye.

To everyone's surprise, the old lady's face darkened, and she said angrily, "What? Do you think my place is too small to accommodate your big Buddha?"

Or are you disgusted by this old woman and don't want to see her? I have a room here, why do you want to go and stay elsewhere?

Huo Beixiao immediately smiled and explained to Grandma Tong, "Grandma Tong, don't be angry. Qiaoqiao was just worried that our presence here would bother you."

"What's the disturbance?" Old Mrs. Tong's face darkened. "I think she just looks down on this old woman. She didn't even bring the baby here to let me see her. And now it's so late, she'd rather go out and find a hotel than stay here with me. Humph!"

The old lady's temper is exactly like a child's.

Yang Qiaoqiao could only quickly reassure her, "Grandma Tong, I was really afraid of disturbing you. Since you are willing to let me stay at your house, it is definitely my honor."

Hearing Yang Qiaoqiao's words, Grandma Tong's expression softened a little.

She pointed to the west wing and said, "From now on, you two will sleep in that room."

There are bed sheets, duvet covers, and quilts readily available in the closets inside. You can make your own bed; this old woman won't bother you."

Yang Qiaoqiao, who had just agreed with a beaming smile, suddenly froze on her little face.

She only thought about agreeing to let the old man stay so that he could feel at ease, completely forgetting that in the old man's heart, she and Huo Beixiao were still husband and wife.

It is only natural for husband and wife to live in the same house.

Huo Beixiao readily agreed, "Okay, Grandma Tong, you don't need to worry about us. I'll go and make the bed in a bit."

Grandma Tong was very satisfied with Huo Beixiao's attitude. She patted his hand and scolded Yang Qiaoqiao, saying, "Look how good Huo's personality is. Unlike you."

Yang Qiaoqiao: ...

After helping the old lady wash up, she originally intended to stay in the old lady's room and sleep with her.

Because she genuinely didn't know how to share a room with Huo Beixiao right now.

But the old lady was very perceptive; she had just shown that she wanted to stay in the old lady's room.

The old lady asked her, "Girl, tell me the truth, is there some problem between you and Xiao Huo?"

I noticed that Xiao Huo was very attentive to you today, but you kept avoiding him. What did he do to offend you? Did you two have a fight?

"No, no..." Yang Qiaoqiao subconsciously denied.

But then I realized that a complete denial wouldn't fool someone as shrewd as Grandma Tong.

He paused for a moment and said, "He didn't do anything to wrong me, but he did make me angry. I feel annoyed just looking at him now."

The old lady visibly breathed a sigh of relief, gave her a speechless look, and then started to shoo her away, "Alright, put your temper behind you."

"Young Huo is already a pretty good guy, stop arguing with him and go back to sleep. Don't disturb an old man's sleep."

Yang Qiaoqiao had no choice but to leave the old lady's room.

As she stepped out of the old lady's room, she was still thinking about how to get to the west wing to face Huo Beixiao.

But in reality, she had to face Huo Beixiao without even entering the west wing.

Because Huo Beixiao was already waiting for her at the door.

Huo Beixiao glanced at the door to the east wing that Yang Qiaoqiao had already closed, and said in a low voice, "Qiaoqiao, the west wing is all set up. Go and rest. I'm leaving now."

Yang Qiaoqiao was startled and subconsciously asked, "Where are you going?"

Huo Beixiao smiled and looked at her with doting eyes, saying, "You must be uncomfortable being in the same room with me right now. I'll go find another place to stay, and I'll climb over the wall early tomorrow morning so that Grandma Tong won't find out."

Yang Qiaoqiao: ...

She looked at Huo Beixiao, who had already taken two steps outside, and felt a mix of emotions.

She didn't know what she was thinking, but her mouth spoke faster than her brain, saying, "Come back."

“We’ll sleep in the same room. Don’t climb over the wall to get out. If you do, people will mistake you for a thief and arrest you.”

Huo Beixiao immediately grinned so hard his teeth were showing, "Okay, thank you Qiaoqiao!"

After saying that, Huo Beixiao couldn't wait to turn around and stride into the house.

In that instant, Yang Qiaoqiao seemed to understand that Huo Beixiao had no intention of leaving at all; he was just using a feigned retreat as a pretext, waiting for her to ask him to stay!

Yang Qiaoqiao was so regretful she wanted to bite her tongue off.

Why did she ask him to stay?

Let him try to bypass the firewall!

Anyway, she's already divorced him.

Even if he embarrasses himself, it's not her who embarrasses herself.

Yang Qiaoqiao didn't look friendly when she walked into the room.

"Cough cough..."

Huo Beixiao knew that Yang Qiaoqiao had seen through his little trick.
