"Mark?" Xingyao blushed. "Wh-what mark?"
Jin Yi focused his attention and regained a bit of calmness and rationality.
"What was that thing you just mentioned?"
"Hmm..." Xingyao's eyes flickered, "It's... something I've wanted for many years."
Jin Yi took a deep breath: "Isn't it a mark between AOs?"
Xingyao's eyes widened, "Of course not!"
"I, I'm going to leave my mark to the one I love..."
His voice became lower and lower. He glanced at Jin Yi quickly and subconsciously touched the small piece of skin on the back of his neck.
Jin Yi slowly sat back in his original position.
The heart that was almost broken fell back down.
"continue."
"What do you mean by 'continue'... Why do you speak in such a commanding tone? People are looking for you to talk to." Xingyao complained.
"I'm listening." Jin Yi hugged his shoulders and calmed his heartbeat.
The waiter brought the two of them the prepared Oasis Lime Guava, and their shadows were reflected in the clear glass.
Because of the refraction of the curved surface, the reflected faces are particularly close.
Sour bubbles emerged from the water one by one and burst.
Xingyao angrily pulled the cold drink in front of him and took a sip from the straw next to him.
After a moment of silence, he continued:
"You know... I only like and am only good at doing things that interest me. Other than that, I'm not good at anything else."
He twisted the straw.
"But all work is more than just 'work'. Take mineral identification, for example. Besides identification, there are also forms to fill out, summaries to make, reconciliations to accounts, and reports..."
"Only children think that work only involves the part they like," said Jin Yi.
Xingyao: "Why are you still so cruel when you speak?"
"This is true." Jin Yi said.
Adult work is filled with a lot of trivial and boring things.
“The person who does the best work isn’t necessarily the one who gets promoted the fastest, and the person with the greatest reputation isn’t necessarily the one with the most ability.”
Jin Yi's tone was as calm as usual.
"This world has its own rules. It's not like you think you'll get as much in return as you put in."
"I know..." Xingyao sighed, "I know..."
Now he knows that being a mecha engineer is not just about designing mechas.
You need social interaction and human connections.
He wants to prove himself to others.
Without a circle and fame, it is equivalent to having nothing.
The blue sky outside the window is as clear as that day.
He stood in front of the school's largest screen, watching as countless days and nights that belonged to him became someone else's achievements.
Design drawings filled with mechanical parts were scattered on the ground.
The voice that he once loved and trusted the most was like the whisper of a devil.
[Xingyao, how are you going to prove it? ]
How can you prove that a student who hasn't even graduated yet can build a 3S mecha?
Do you think anyone would believe it?
He can't prove anything.
He gave every one of his drawings intact to his most beloved teacher.
Every design idea of his was discussed with him in detail.
He was completely open with him, and he thought that person really appreciated his talent.
But that person copied his design drawings and secretly revealed "his own" design ideas to famous people in the circle.
The talented young man met his mentor at a young age.
How could such a good thing happen in this world?
The cruel reality taught the young man, who was only interested in design, a hard lesson.
He has had the bitterest taste of coffee ever since.
"I messed up something before." Xingyao blinked and drank half of the drink.
He felt that this store must have chosen the sourest batch of guava today.
"Now, maybe there's a chance for me to do it again... I don't know if I want to accept it. I might... mess it up again."
He lay on the table, staring at the acid bubbles rising up, and Jin Yi's shadow was reflected in the bubbles.
"Do you want to do that?" Jin Yi asked.
"Of course I do." Xingyao said sullenly.
He just can't let go of his love for mecha design.
That was something given to him by God.
Excellent memory for drawings and keen perception of materials.
He even spent countless nights reading through the design books in the library.
Everything in his head was screaming, "This is what you should do!"
"If you want to do it, just do it." Jin Yi said.
"How can you say it so easily... I'm worried about a lot of things. It's going to take a lot of time and effort, and success isn't guaranteed."
Xingyao's throat rolled.
“Even if I succeed, it doesn’t necessarily mean that this success belongs to me.”
He is an unregistered dark web mecha master.
He is not even qualified to have his achievements evaluated.
Using someone else's name again? What's the difference from last time?
"You're just wasting your time and enthusiasm."
Jinyi took the remaining half cup of lime guava and drank it slowly with another straw.
Xingyao covered her head: "Ahhh why can't you comfort me with a few words, why do you have to be so blunt!"
"Because it's meaningless." Jin Yi said.
"If I tell you not to think so much, will you stop thinking about it?"
Xingyao buried her face in her arms, "No..."
"You need to do it." Jin Yi put the cup back between them, "Let practical actions fill your wandering mind."
