Chapter 50: Saving the Boy Who Wasn't Bad at Heart (2/2)

Shuiqing comforted her, "Mother, once I finish building the new house, I'll save a room for you, Father, and Brother. You can come and stay with us for a while!"

"Alright, I'll move in when you build your new house," Mother Hu replied, though her heart was still heavy with sorrow.

Building a new house is easier said than done.

In the past, when her daughter lived at her mother-in-law's house, there were a dozen or so people crammed into three rooms. She was afraid of bumping into someone when she turned around, let alone staying overnight.

My daughter is strictly controlled by her mother-in-law and rarely comes back; I only see her twice a year.

After finally separating from the family, they had no house and no money. They were essentially starting from scratch. The thatched hut that the father of the child helped build was not very spacious, barely enough for the daughter's family to live in.

Making money has never been an easy thing since ancient times.

Shuiqing sat on the oxcart, looking at Hu's mother who was standing at the door, reluctant to go in, her eyes brimming with tears.

She called out, "Mother, go back now. I'll come back for you once I've finished building the house!"

"Okay." Mrs. Hu stood outside the door and agreed, but did not move.

Until the oxcart turned the corner and she could no longer see any figure, Hu's mother wiped away her tears, turned around and went into the house.

I don't know when I'll see my daughter again...

Shui Qing felt empty inside.

In China, she was abandoned at birth and never experienced any parental love. She worked hard to build her career and wealth, but she was plagued by illness and had no children.

Unexpectedly, what was missing was made up for in this way.

She has a family now; she's no longer all alone...

The oxcart swayed and bumped along the dirt road, not very comfortable, but the whole family was very satisfied.

Compared to the past when we could only walk on our own two legs, this bumpy ride is nothing.

As the sun began to set, birds flew peacefully across the open fields.

"Mother! Father, look!" Yan Qiu's exclamation broke the tranquility of the dirt road in the fields.

Shui Qing craned her neck to look over.

“Mother, it’s the rich young master we saw at the market.”

"Where's his white horse? Why isn't it with him?"

"Didn't those servants follow?"

"Could this be someone targeting him, trying to murder him for money?!"

Shui Qing's heart skipped a beat.

Fan Jin stepped forward, checked her breathing, felt her carotid artery, and turned to Shui Qing, asking, "She just fainted, what should we do?"

Shui Qing originally wanted to say she didn't care.

But when she thought that she was able to live the life she has today, perhaps because the Bodhisattva helped her by doing good deeds, she immediately changed her tune: "Since you said that you are a rich young master riding a horse, you must have fallen off the horse by accident."

Let's put him on the oxcart first. When he wakes up or the servant comes looking for him, it will be a good deed done.

Bodhisattva, remember, don't forget to leave anything out.

The cart was not large to begin with. After the fruit tree seedlings were placed on it, Fan Jin walked and drove the oxcart. Now, with a young boy lying down, Shui Qing and the others all got off the cart and started walking.

Fortunately, it's not far from Shanshui Village, so a walk will help stretch my muscles.

From getting up at the crack of dawn to returning home at sunset, it felt like weary birds returning to their nests, and the whole family was extremely relaxed.

Just as Shui Qing was about to say that there's no place like home, a sharp voice suddenly rang out.

"So you guys still know how to come back! You don't feed the chickens or take care of the house. If it weren't for me watching over you, you'd probably be dead by the time you got back."

Shui Qing: ...Damn it, how could she have missed this person!
