Chapter 106 The Girl in Trance

By the time Du Jiang and Huo Yang rushed back to Dujia Village, it was already three or four in the afternoon. Looking at the old men and women sitting in the square basking in the sun and chatting, it was too late for Du Jiang to cover his face. Fortunately, Huo Yang's tall figure blocked many curious gazes. Perhaps Huo Yang's aura was too strong, so those people did not react until the car passed through the crowd.

Du Jiang, covering half of his face, looked at the dull faces of the uncles and aunts who were walking away and gradually became blurred due to the distance, and he felt like laughing for some reason.

"Laugh if you want to." Although he was in front of him, Huo Yang guessed Du Jiang's mood correctly. Unfortunately, Du Jiang did not follow his wishes. Instead, he reached out and pinched his waist through the thick cotton coat. Unfortunately, the muscles were too hard and almost hurt Du Jiang's nails.

"Huff, huff," he didn't pinch the other person but hurt his own hand. Looking at the white fingertips, Du Jiang blew air distressedly, "Your flesh is so hard."

Huo Yang didn't dare to express any opinion about this and just pedaled the bike obediently.

It was not known whether it was because of what Mrs. Huo had said or because they had seen each other in the morning, but when the car arrived at Huo's house, Du Siming happened to be standing outside the gate and saw the shadow of the bicycle from a distance.

Looking at the things on the handlebars, Du Siming raised his eyebrows, "Why did you buy so little? Aren't you going to have a wedding?"

Du Siming's expression showed neither joy nor sadness, but was very calm. Huo Yang and Du Jiang could not guess what the other was thinking for a moment.

Looking at the bicycle that had stopped steadily, Du Jiang jumped off, stepped forward and greeted, "Hello, Village Chief Du."

Du Siming nodded, turned and walked into the yard, and before leaving, he did not forget to say "Follow me".

Du Jiang couldn't figure out what the other person was thinking for a moment. When she looked at Huo Yang, she let out a deep breath and followed him.

Du Siming sat in the main seat in the house. He looked at Du Jiang who came in and said nothing, but gestured for her to sit down. Looking at the layout that was exactly the same as the Huo family's living room, Du Jiang didn't choose and sat down directly next to Du Siming. After thinking for a while, she tentatively called out, "Third Uncle."

"Yeah," Du Siming nodded, "I didn't recognize you in front of others, but your household registration will be tied to me from now on. Don't blame your parents, this is for your own good."

Du Siming's fingers were long and slender, tapping lightly on the armrest, making a sound. Looking at those bony fingers, Du Jiang shook his head with an indifferent expression, "Uncle San, I don't blame them. They gave me a lot of money before the New Year."

Du Siming sighed as he looked at Du Jiang's indifferent face. He reached into his chest pocket and took out a folded envelope and handed it to Du Jiang. "This is from your parents. Although we've already discussed this on the phone, you still need a written adoption document. There are two copies. This one is mine. Besides this, there's also a letter from your parents. Go back and read it. It's inconvenient for me to keep it here for you."

Hearing the intention to drive him away from Du Siming's words, Du Jiang did not stay any longer. He immediately stood up, thanked him and walked out.

Watching Du Jiang disappear at the door, Du Siming curled the corners of his mouth in a smile, and then quickly regained his composure.

Huo Yang had been standing outside the door. Seeing Du Jiang intact, he breathed a sigh of relief and asked, "What did you say?"

Du Jiang shook his head. "Nothing, Brother Huo, I'm going back first. I remember it's best for men and women not to see each other a few days before the wedding. We should not meet these days. If you have anything, just ask Guan Chuan to pass it on."

Huo Yang also knew about the ancient custom of not meeting each other, and nodded immediately. Then he reached out and handed the red cloth on the handlebar to Du Jiang, "Okay, I'll let Guan Chuan pass on the message to you if there's anything. As for the rest, I'll take care of it."

Du Jiang nodded and walked into the educated youth site holding the red cloth under the watchful eyes of Huo Yang. After Du Jiang's figure disappeared inside the door, Huo Yang looked away and pushed his bicycle back.

Du Jiang attracted everyone's attention as soon as he entered the yard. Looking at the curious faces, Du Jiang, who had always maintained a calm mind, finally couldn't help blushing and coughed awkwardly a few times, "What are you all doing in the yard?"

Guan Chuan laughed, and his eyes changed when he saw the red cloth in Du Jiang's arms. "Sister Jiang, is it true that you and Brother Huo are about to get married?"

"Of course," Qian Meili, who had met Mrs. Huo in the morning, interrupted, "Grandma Huo came to visit us in person this morning. Could she be here to propose marriage?"

"Wow, really, Sister Jiang?" Yu Chunxiao covered her face and screamed like a hamster, which made Du Jiang's face redder. She quickly walked into the house holding the red cloth, "Well, I'll treat you to a wedding dinner in a few days."

"Wow~" After entering the house, Du Jiang could still hear the strange screams of Guan Chuan in the yard, which made him angry and amused.

Du Jiang ran back to the house. Although he blocked Guan Chuan and the others, he couldn't block Yu Chunxiao, Qian Meili and the others. So, Du Jiang, who had just put down the cloth, turned around and saw several girls crowding into his room. He was speechless and sat down on the bed resignedly, spreading his hands and said, "Ask."

Seeing this, Yu Chunxiao chuckled, stepped forward and squeezed in front of Du Jiang, whispering ambiguously, "Sister Jiang, what did you and Brother Huo do today?"

"Yes, we are from the same courtyard. Tell me," Qian Meili quickly surpassed Luo Yue and the others and squeezed to the other side of Du Jiang. She and Yu Chunxiao immediately sandwiched Du Jiang on both sides, as if they would not let the girl go if she did not answer. This made Du Jiang very confused, but he also knew that if he could not explain the answer clearly, he would not be able to escape from these curious girls.

Anyway, the divorce had only happened four or five days ago, so Du Jiang didn't hide it and immediately told him about their upcoming marriage registration.

This shocked Qian Meili and the others.

"I got... got the certificate," Qian Meili stammered, her eyes wide open.

Yu Chunxiao, Luo Yue and the others were not much better off. They all looked at Du Jiang with surprise, thinking that the usually mediocre and calm Du Jiang had become a stunning figure. If she had only woken up ten minutes later, their sister Jiang would have become a married woman.

"No, we really got the marriage certificate," Yu Chunxiao suspected that he was hallucinating and asked again uncertainly.

"Yes, Sister Jiang, this kind of thing is not a joke," Luo Yue also recovered, but still couldn't believe that Du Jiang would be so impulsive.

Duan Yin and Gu Ruomei were not in a much better situation. Luo Yue's words gave them hope. They looked at Du Jiang eagerly, expecting him to shake his head and make excuses.

Unfortunately, they were disappointed. In the trance-like expectant eyes of everyone, Du Jiang nodded slowly and firmly, "I, Du Jiang, and Huo Yang got the marriage certificate today. Please bless us."

When Qian Meili, Yu Chunxiao and the others finally walked out of Du Jiang's house, they were all in a trance, which made Guan Chuan and others in the yard very curious. However, no matter how they asked, these girls did not reveal a single word of the conversation in the house.
