Chapter 158 Drunk

Du Siming and Huo Ze did not avoid Huo Yang and Du Jiang in their actions, and of course they did not speak to remind them.

Du Jiang and Huo Yang only found out what had happened when they saw it in the newspaper at the end of the year. Looking at the corrupt official who had been brought down in the article, if it weren't for the lower half of his face that was blurred but still visible outside the building, neither of them might have recognized him.

Huo Yang, who came to pick up Du Jiang after get off work, was very silent along the way. During this time, Du Jiang secretly glanced at him several times, but unfortunately Huo Yang was introverted and no emotion could be seen on his serious face.

It wasn't until the car drove to the door that Du Jiang couldn't help but speak, "Are you okay?"

Unexpectedly, Huo Yang's reaction was the same as usual. He even opened the car door for Du Jiang considerately, which made Du Jiang feel a little uneasy.

Perhaps sensing Du Jiang's nervousness, Huo Yang was at a loss whether to laugh or cry. "He's just an outsider. What can I do? Why are you worried?"

Hearing this, Du Jiang breathed a sigh of relief. "Isn't this just worrying about you? After all, it's you..."

Before she could finish her words, Huo Yang interrupted her, "No, he and I have nothing to do with each other. My mother died shortly after I was born, and I was raised by my grandparents. To be honest, he probably doesn't even know what I look like. We only met once before he went to the countryside, and that was to persuade him to go to the countryside in his place."

Ah, this was the first time Du Jiang heard Huo Yang talk about it. He couldn't help but feel pity in his heart. He reached out and held Huo Yang's hand, feeling it carefully, "Sorry."

"It's nothing. I don't really care at all." Huo Yang didn't care much about it. "Let's go home. Dad and uncle are probably still waiting there."

Just as Huo Yang guessed, as soon as he entered the house, he saw Du Siming and Huo Ze sitting upright in the living room. Perhaps the atmosphere between the two was a bit heavy, even Huo Xingle, who was lying on the table doing his homework, sat extra straight.

Huo Yang looked at the two seated statues and immediately understood what was going on. He immediately pulled Du Jiang forward and sat opposite them and spoke first, "Dad, uncle, do you want to celebrate tonight?"

There was no special explanation, just a simple sentence, which made Du Siming and Huo Ze, who had been nervous all afternoon, feel relieved.

Du Siming smiled even more and said, "Aze is in a good mood today, why don't you open a bottle of red wine."

"Okay, I'll listen to Dad." Upon hearing this, Huo Yang looked at Huo Ze. Seeing that the other party had no objection, he immediately stood up and walked towards the drunk driving place.

Amidst the aroma of the wine, people started talking more. Looking at Huo Ze who started to talk after a few drinks, and listening to his vague and aggrieved voice, Du Jiang listened silently, shaking the wine glass in his hand. The liquid swayed in circles in the glass, and the dark red liquid made the glass look even more transparent.

Du Siming looked at the drunk and talkative Huo Ze with a confused look on his face. He reached out his hands several times to try to stop him from continuing, but unfortunately, every time he did so, he failed.

The only one who didn't drink at the dinner table was Huo Xingle. Perhaps it was because Huo Ze looked different at this time, which made Huo Xingle eager to try the decanter, but Huo Yang didn't stop him.

"It's better for children not to drink alcohol." Huo Yang's eyes were still clear, and it was obvious that the few glasses of wine had no effect on him at all. He even stood up and poured a glass of water for Huo Xingle, "Drink some water. Grandpa won't be able to take care of you tonight."

Huo Xingle stuck out his tongue when he heard that and obediently took the white water from Huo Yang.

Du Jiang held his chin and watched the people talking to each other, feeling a little amused. Then he tilted his head back and drank the wine in the glass. "I'm going back to my room to rest. You guys can do whatever you want." After saying that, he stood up with the help of the table without caring about the people present. Maybe it was because of the aftereffects of his mood, he walked crookedly, which made Huo Yang's eyelids twitch.

Just when Du Jiang was about to trip on the stairs, Huo Yang leaped forward and supported him, "I'll help you up the stairs." While speaking, he turned his head and glanced at Huo Xingle with a warning. Huo Xingle, who understood his look, could only reluctantly withdraw his hand that was reaching for the decanter.

"Really? Is there an eye behind my back?" Huo Xingle muttered with a pout.

Although Huo Yang didn't hear clearly, Du Siming heard it all. Looking at the little wine left in the decanter, he didn't waste it. He took a sip and drank it down directly. Then he gave Huo Xingle a warning look and said, "I have to take care of your grandfather tonight. You sleep alone. Don't stay up late or read comic books. Understand, your father will come down to clear the table soon. Go upstairs and wash up now."

Faced with Du Siming's stern warning, even though he was reluctant, Huo Xingle still got up from the dinner table and obediently went upstairs to wash up and rest.

Du Siming reached out to stop Huo Ze, who was standing next to him with his head down like a chicken pecking at rice, and forcefully helped him up and walk towards the room. When he came out after settling Huo Ze down, Huo Yang had already rolled up his sleeves to clean up the dishes.

Du Siming lowered his eyes, then stepped forward to help, "Don't you care about your father?"

"Born but not raised, there's only a thin layer of blood between us." His memory of his father Huo Yang was very vague, and even though he had drunk a few glasses of wine, he was still clear-headed. He turned his head to look at Du Siming and said solemnly, "Dad, you don't need to test me. Although I'm not adopted, my household registration has never been in his family. Since I was born, my household registration has been with my uncle's, so I don't mind what you did at all. What's more, this is his own fault. He embezzled taxes, bullied the oppressors, and got what he wanted."

Having gotten what he wanted, Du Siming's brain reacted a little slowly at this time, "Is this how it is used?"

Huo Yang shrugged. "Maybe, Dad, you should go back and see your uncle. He always vomits when he drinks."

As soon as Du Siming said this, before he could react, the sound of vomiting was heard in the room, which instantly made him clear his mind a little. He didn't bother to clean up and hurriedly turned around and ran to the room. Unfortunately, he was a step too late.

Du Siming was tortured to death by Huo Ze that night. He cried and laughed, and even jumped off the bed to sing from time to time. But this was not the most serious thing. The most serious thing was the vomiting after each jump. It was really tormenting Du Siming. When the last sheet was changed, Du Siming was almost exhausted. He glared at Huo Ze who was sitting obediently in the chair, "I told you to vomit in advance. And didn't I tell you not to jump? Why are you still jumping? Look at what you have done. This is the last sheet. If this goes on, we will have no place to sleep."

Unfortunately, Du Siming forgot that drunk people are unreasonable, especially those who have a low alcohol tolerance and have drunk a lot of alcohol. The previous vomiting did not sober him up at all. Instead, he became more fearless because of Du Siming's caring care.
