Chapter Twenty: The White Hat

In China, high-end business battles often involve circumventing internet restrictions, distributing pornographic images, and seizing company seals; while abroad, in the PMC (Programme for Consumers) circle, espionage is a real phenomenon.

However, most spies are prepared to be shot, but not mentally prepared to be hit by an 81mm mortar shell.

It's hard to describe in French, but it's easy to complain in Chinese: This guy has no sense of martial ethics.

"Splash~~"

A bucket of cold water was poured over Kabanda's head, and the skilled intelligence agent shivered, instantly sobering up.

"Tell me, which company sent you?"

The person speaking was standing behind the light, and Kabanda felt the glare and discomfort; he regretted coming here.

This is just the beginning. Xia Yu will not only make him regret coming here, but he will also regret being born.

"Luba, just stay alive."

Xia Yu gave up his seat; he was only good at driving, and repairs were a physically demanding job.

Luba's smile never faded after receiving the prize money, but Kabanda's eyes were filled with utter horror.

After a series of clanging and banging noises, Kabanda, who had never received any anti-torture training, confessed that he was employed by a PMC company called White Hat.

Because he was a latecomer to the field, Xia Yu was not exactly knowledgeable about the industry, but he calmly let Kabanda continue.

The company is called White Hat because 80% of its employees are former military officers, and the military caps worn by former officers during various events and ceremonies are white, hence the name.

Five years of service can get you citizenship, but even after getting citizenship, you still have to work and earn money. Some people switch careers to become police officers nearby, while others take advantage of the recent internet boom to return to China and start their own media businesses. But most people know nothing but fighting.

Joining a PMC company or establishing their own overseas security company has become the mainstream choice.

White Hat is one of the older and larger leading companies, with over a thousand employees, half of whom are combat personnel.

Over the years, the company has accumulated more than a dozen mines in French-speaking regions overseas. All profits will be invested in a veterans' foundation, and employees who have contributed to the company will receive a stipend.

It sounds like a pension plan. Xia Yu could learn from it if he expands and strengthens his business in the future. Right now, he's still following a small, specialized, and refined approach, which isn't suitable for him.

However, small, professional, and elite, it looks really impressive.

Indeed, this was the case. Even a long-established PMC company like White Hat was alarmed by him, and the intelligence agent they sent was captured alive. This was something that small, independent individuals could not compare to.

In addition, all of this was caused by Xia Yu stealing their orders.

While he was negotiating with Busa, he had finished his work. Unlike other PMC companies that were just watching the show, he was determined to get to the bottom of things and find out who was behind the trouble.

Therefore, Xia Yu must not let them know.

Because this industry is unclear, but there is a common phenomenon in the internet industry, whether in China or abroad: if you can't beat them, you acquire them; if you can't get them, you destroy them.

Xia Yu has only just opened for business and hasn't even had a chance to develop its business properly, yet it's already being targeted by a company of White Hat's caliber. This is definitely not a good thing.

If some companies in Afica see this rebel incident as a chance to make a fortune, Xia Yu's actions are seen as stealing their food, and vice versa in Xia Yu's eyes.

If you eat one more bite, I have to eat one less bite. I'm willing to compete fairly, but are you willing to do the same?

Afica operates on the law of the jungle: the strong prey on the weak, and only the fittest survive. So, I'm sorry, Xia Yu doesn't want to be a good guy this time.

As for whether they would clash with the Kingdom of Hair, Xia Yu wasn't worried at all.

The white top hat isn't part of the active-duty French contingent; it's just a private company that does dirty work, not even worthy of being listed on the official stage. Besides, there are other companies of the same level, so it can't represent anyone.

More importantly, the Afica military police of yesteryear are now in a period of decline, and the vacant positions will naturally be filled by those with the best abilities.

Just wait, when they get to Panaka, they'll have a real showdown.

The night passed quickly, and apart from being woken up by two "thunderclaps" in the middle of the night, the villagers of Bogo Village did not feel anything unusual.

Perhaps the rainy season is coming soon; it's normal for thunder to rumble early. That's all.

Xia Yu acted as if nothing had happened, but made a phone call to Old Anka to remind him that there was a mole around his son and that he needed to strengthen management.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Sherlock, we're still in Busa right now. We'll definitely visit you when we get back."

Old Anka quickly apologized, though he couldn't help feeling annoyed.

Few of his son's confidants were reliable; they were far inferior to his old subordinates.

"I don't mean to blame you, it's just that secrecy is really important for the military. You wouldn't want Anka to be held back by these things and have her promotion affected, would you?"

"Yes, I will have him handle this matter immediately and seriously."

Old Anka started to get serious; he didn't want to be sold out again.

Furthermore, the Anka family's rise to their current status was not easy, and he didn't want to suffer a major setback when he was reaping the rewards.

And so, the fate of some people was also predetermined.

If you take money you shouldn't take and say things you shouldn't say, you have to be aware of that.

"Uncle Li, the rainy season is coming soon. Will it affect the construction of my garage?"

Old Li, who lived in the former construction team's quarters, didn't hear the thunder, but the arrival of the rainy season was a real problem.

"It won't affect anything. Heavy rain stops, light rain dries things up. You haven't spent enough time in Kongluga. The rainy season here has just begun, so there usually won't be any torrential rain."

"Alright, you're an old hand, so you're in charge. But you'd better make sure the quality is up to you."

Having received a positive reply, Xia Yuxin felt relieved.

The construction of a permanent vehicle depot is of utmost urgency; he must quickly teach Domi how to drive a tank so that the two-man crew can form a combat-ready force.

Of course, a three-person car crew is the best.

Two people are only the bare minimum for combat; for a systematic battle, the tank commander is the most indispensable role.

Imagine armed helicopters soaring in the sky, coordinating with tanks on the ground, unleashing a barrage of firepower that routs the enemy.

This is no ordinary shock; even Final Destination wouldn't be this intense.

What, you mean air superiority?

Apart from the few in the north and south, the remaining Afica have air superiority and can fly around haphazardly.

Portable air defense missiles are ridiculously expensive, and not every shot hits its target. Unless someone helps (cause trouble), the Black people can't afford them.

So it still has to be an RPG, then there's nothing to worry about.

Xia Yu's gaze passed through the woods behind the village and landed on a large open space.

The cassava fields in Bogo Village are located in front of the village, but due to the obstruction of a hill, their propagation and expansion have not been able to take advantage of that area.

In theory, the right to use this vacant land still belongs to Kong Lujia, and Xia Yu felt that he could use this land to do something.

What should we do then?

There are better places to farm, and he doesn't need to build a house, so he fell into deep thought.

This area seems perfect for tanks to run wild!

Returning to his old profession, Xia Yu immediately saw the key to success.

Don't be fooled by the lush vegetation during the dry season; during the rainy season, it becomes a muddy mess that even off-road vehicles will break down, and only tracked vehicles can get through.

In this way, an immature idea gradually formed in Xia Yu's mind.
