There was only this mother and son, and no one else was around. When Sang Shui got married, Sang Jin was still very young and had no memory of anything. Silly Sang Jin had no memory of her younger sister Sang Shui.
Sang Jin wasn't sure the woman in front of her was her aunt. But as a doctor, since she had a patient and she still had the energy to treat her, she couldn't just abandon her.
"Let's save her first. Huo Huo, help me take the child away. I'll give the medicine to this young woman first."
"Okay." Li Jingyu took the child away.
Sang Jin took out a marrow cleansing pill and a water bag from her space ring. She then divided the marrow cleansing pill into five parts and put one part into the water bag.
She took out a bowl from the wooden cart where the little woman was lying, poured out half a bowl of water, and gave it to the little boy to drink first.
The little boy stayed by his mother's side and cried for who knows how long. He was very hungry and thirsty. So when Sang Jin brought him a bowl of water, he drank it without hesitation. What kind of mind could a little boy who couldn't even speak well have?
"What are you doing!" It was a man's voice.
Sang Jin turned around and saw a young man holding a bamboo tube and some leaves. Sang Jin immediately understood that the man had gone out to find food. However, there was nothing nearby, so he had to fetch some water and gather some leaves.
"We are saving people. There is medicine in this water that can cure the plague." Sang Jin said calmly.
"You... are really saving people." Zhou Zihao saw that his son, who had drunk the bowl of water, was fine.
"Absolutely true." Sang Jin poured another bowl of water into the bowl and said, "I suggest you drink a bowl too."
The man took the bowl, but didn't drink it directly. Instead, he gave it to the woman lying on the wooden cart. She was already very sick. She had no strength to walk. They had been running with the villagers since they discovered the plague.
Unexpectedly, his wife fell ill midway through the journey, and the villagers urged him to abandon her and take the children with him. But he couldn't bear it. Without her, would this family still be a home? His son, who had been with his wife the longest, also contracted the plague, though surprisingly, not as seriously as his wife.
Finally, the villagers, seeing that he was the only one of the three in their family who had not been infected by the plague, decided not to leave with them. They simply left them alone. That's how he and his wife stumbled upon this place.
He saw a source of water, so he stopped to find something to eat. However, his wife couldn't walk any further. He stayed there for two more days, and that's when he met these two strange children.
"My name is Zhou Zihao, and I'm from Zhouda Village. Our entire village was fleeing famine, and later some people in the village were infected with the plague, and half of the villagers died. My family of three was probably also affected. This medicine can really cure the plague. I would like to thank you two young friends here first." Zhou Zihao bowed to Sang Jin and the others.
He was an orphan, and was later adopted by an old scholar. The old scholar never married or had children, so he took care of him until his death. However, the old scholar died before his wife, unable to survive the plague.
If these two children could really save his wife and son, he would not bow, but kowtow. How precious would this medicine be that could cure the plague?
"You said you are from Zhou Da Village? Then do you know Sang Shui from your village? I heard from Village Chief Zhou Dahe that she was infected with the plague. Judging from the time, she should be in this area." Sang Jin took out another bowl from the cart, and then poured a bowl of water from the water bag for Zhou Zihao.
"Who are you? What do you want from Sang Shui?" Zhou Zihao withdrew his hand that was about to fetch water.
"It was Sang Shui's father who asked us to rescue Sang Shui's family. The little girl in front of me is the daughter of Sang Shui's eldest brother. Her name is Sang Jin and she is five years old this year." Li Jingyu explained.
"Is it Uncle Sang?" Zhou Zihao and his wife have been married for three years and have never gone back to see the Sang family. This is also a knot in his heart.
Back then, his wife had a quarrel with her family and refused to return home. She never returned again. So, in Zhou Zihao's mind, he didn't dare call Sang Jin "father-in-law" or "dad." He always called him Uncle Sang.
He had never expected that during this devastating plague, when he was desperate, it was Uncle Sang who sent someone to rescue his family. This young man had an aura that made him look extraordinary. He must be a cultivator.
"My wife is Sang Shui, and this child is our son. He is two years old this year. It is my fault that I am unfilial and have not been able to take my wife back to see her father and mother." Sang Jin could call someone to rescue them. It was just a name, so what else could he not say?
Seeing the change in the person's tone, Sang Jin breathed a sigh of relief. God had been kind to her; she had found her aunt's family.
"Uncle, you should take the medicine first. Aunt will be fine after taking it for two more days." Sang Jin reminded.
"Okay, thank you our little Sang Jin. You're so young but still want to come out to find us." Zhou Zihao couldn't help but burst into tears.
Li Jingyu turned his back and let Sang Jin reminisce with her aunt's family.
Not far from the gate of Yansha City.
"What? You let Xiao Jin, a child, go save my little sister!" Sang Mu was shocked when he heard the news. He felt that his father didn't care about little Sang Jin at all. No matter what, he had to wait for him to come back and take the child with him.
Without an adult around, he would still be worried even if little Sang Jin had some skills.
"Dad, you handled this matter inappropriately. Xiao Jin is so young. Even though she knows medical skills and has medicine on her, she is still a child after all. You can let her take the kid from the Li family with her. You can at least ask two people from the village to follow her. How can you be so at ease?" Sang Mu was anxious.
"Son, it's Daddy's fault for not thinking it through, but we are all vulnerable. Xiao Jin said she...said she was fine. I thought Master Lu was a capable man, and if he couldn't protect Xiao Jin, then who among us here could protect Xiao Jin?" Old Man Sang's voice became lower and lower.
The last sentence was as soft as a mosquito's voice, making it hard to hear clearly. After he asked Sang Jin to save Sang Shui, he kept blaming himself.
"Alright, stop arguing. Is this even meaningful now? Big Brother, I'll go with you to find little Sang Jin," Sang Huo said. He was just such an impulsive person. He wanted to do whatever he thought of.
"Master Sang, your wife is about to give birth." the midwife shouted.
When Mrs. Zhuang heard this, she ran over quickly. She had specially asked Sang Mu to go to the city to invite this midwife.
The eldest daughter-in-law was about to give birth, and the family couldn't do without a proper midwife. Having finally gotten a city, she quickly took out her savings and asked her eldest son, Sangmu, to hire a midwife.
"Second son, go find some firewood. There's definitely not enough in this cart. Second son, quickly set up a stand and take out the pot to boil some hot water. Just use the bucket of water in the carriage." Old Mrs. Zhuang immediately ordered her two sons to do things.
