Chapter 100 She Can't Keep It Hidden

Chapter 100 She Can't Keep It Hidden

The air conditioning in the room was adequate.

Chen Qing's pajamas on the back were soaked with sweat and stuck tightly to his body. He shivered from the cold.

She couldn't help it and sneezed, her head hitting Jiang Jingyan's chin.

"Did it hurt you?" Chen Qing rubbed his head, his nasal tone becoming heavier. "Why are you so close to me?"

Jiang Jingyan pulled the silk quilt from the bed, threw it on her shoulders, turned around and sat down on the sofa in the corner, the inquiry in his eyes not diminishing at all.

"Did anyone come to your house today?"

Chen Qing lowered her legs to look for her slippers, then remembered that she was carried back by him.

So I stepped on the floor with my bare feet, "No."

Jiang Jingyan stared at her back. In the dim light, she looked like a slender, delicate little girl. She went to the cloakroom to change into new pajamas and also got a set for him.

"Are you still going to wash?" Chen Qing put his clothes on the bed and rubbed his head again.

Jiang Jingyan stretched out his hand.

She paused, moved over, and held his hand.

The man opened his legs wide, holding her waist with one hand and pressing the other hand on her head, rubbing the place that was hit in circles with moderate force.

His voice was low and slow, with a clear warning tone, "Chen Qing, are you sure?"

Chen Qing raised his eyes and looked at him. "Does a delivery man count?"

“Not really.”

"That's gone."

"There was no broken glass in the trash can."

"Took out the trash once."

"You took a shower before I came back this afternoon."

"I was sweating this morning."

He smiled suddenly, and slid his palm down the side of her face. "Do you want me to check the surveillance?"

Chen Qing trembled slightly, his eyelashes drooped naturally, and his brows raised slightly.

She looked aggrieved, as if she was frightened by him.

Jiang Jingyan tightened his grip on her cheek, his anger rising inch by inch, "I'll ask you again."

The strength in his hands was unbearable for an ordinary man.

Chen Qing's cheeks gradually lost feeling, tears welled up in his eyes, and he sobbed, "Yan Baiqing——"

He let go.

Chen Qing leaned on his chest out of inertia, tears rolling out of her eyes.

Jiang Jingyan lowered his eyes, "What are you doing here?"

"We were rehearsing in the morning, and he was also at school, so he dropped me off on the way back."

"You want him to deliver it?"

"I didn't let the driver go to school with me. It was too conspicuous."

She spoke haltingly and didn't dare cry loudly.

Jiang Jingyan touched the corner of her eyes and said, "Did I ever tell you to stay away from him?"

Chen Qing choked up and spoke incoherently; he didn't hear a single word.

Over the years, Jiang Jingyan was particularly careful not to speak harshly to her, let alone hit her. Even when she occasionally lost her temper, ran away from home, and acted like a spoiled child during adolescence, he took it as fun and even felt gratified, thinking that the child had become popular.

During the period when Chen Qing was most sensitive, if she started crying, no matter what her fault, he would definitely be helpless and would find all kinds of small things to comfort her. Tang Xiaoming was right when he said that he spoiled Chen Qing.

But she can hide things from other men, and those who are not of the same nature.

That night, Jiang Jingyan slept in the second bedroom.

The next morning, Lian Zhuo found him in his study. "Mr. Yan did come and leave. It was only forty minutes."

The man crushed his cigarette butt, his tone unclear, "What do you think?"

"Ms. Chen...is still a student." Lian Zhuo pondered for a long moment. "If Mr. Yan said he wanted to send her home in front of the school leaders, she wouldn't be able to do anything about it."

"I asked the school." Jiang Jingyan lit another cigarette. "Chen Qing took sick leave yesterday."

Lian Zhuo was stunned and didn't dare to say a word.

Lying in front of Mr. Jiang is the most stupid thing to do, unless Chen Qing is confused.

The study was completely silent.

Jiang Jingyan leaned back, with a strong sense of dominance between his brows.

Chen Qing's roommate's words were consistent with hers. She certainly didn't expect that he would disregard his status and ask the school directly.

It seems that the matter that they are trying to conceal with such great fuss is also related to Yan Baiqing.

He dusted off his cigarette ash and asked, "Have you found Huamei?"

"not yet."

"Notify Tang Xiaoming that I will go over to question him tomorrow."

Lian Zhuo nodded, "You still have a meeting before the opening ceremony of the summit tonight."

Jiang Jingyan nodded and waved.

Lian Zhuo packed up the documents on the table to be sent back to Huasheng and turned to leave.

When I passed by the bedroom, I noticed some unusual noises inside.

He turned his head, "Mr. Jiang!"

Jiang Jingyan didn't have time to put out his cigarette before he walked over the desk and strode into the bedroom.

The person on the bed was curled up in the quilt, his face flushed, his body covered in sweat, his eyelids half closed, and his groans sounded extremely painful.

"Chen Qing." He wiped the sweat from the tip of her nose. "Are you awake?"

Chen Qing mumbled something unclearly, as if talking nonsense.

Jiang Jingyan immediately called the Jiang family's private doctor. After the examination, it was found that it was just a common cold, but the temperature was too high, reaching 40 degrees. The doctor hung up a bottle and left a nurse to take care of the patient.

Lian Zhuo stood silently at the entrance and clicked his tongue, wondering how he could have gotten so confused due to the fever.

He saw the doctor off and turned back.

Jiang Jingyan stood by the bed and wiped the soles of Chen Qing's feet with alcohol wipes.

"Mr. Jiang." He lowered his voice. "It's Mr. Meng calling."

The man tucked in the quilt and stood up to answer it.

Lian Zhuo followed closely, figuring that Miss Chen's illness meant yesterday's incident would be unresolved. He'd seen Mr. Jiang helpless, and Young Master Xiao said that was his only failing: whenever his woman showed signs of grievance and pity, his steely spirit would melt into water.

This is better, so Mr. Jiang doesn’t have to sulk in secret.

Being angry is harmful to your body and even more so to your subordinates.

A boss who is very ambitious about his career, once he is angry and holds back, will be more demanding than usual at work.

After Jiang Jingyan finished the call, he turned around and ordered, "Prepare the car."

Lian Zhuo went to do it without stopping.

During the summit, the vehicles of the participants will be subject to special supervision by the Traffic Management Bureau and their itineraries must be reported.

Jiang Jingyan was not restricted because he had a mission to complete, but for safety reasons, he still had to be cautious about his personal itinerary.

When Chen Qing woke up, the light in the room was dim, and a bright neon light shone from under the curtains.

Her throat was dry and she pushed herself up.

The bedroom door was ajar.

"Jiang Jingyan?" Her voice was hoarse and very soft.

There was a glass of cold water on the bedside table. Chen Qing drank it all in one gulp. Just as he put it down, the bedroom door was pushed open.

Mrs. Luo turned on the light strip. "Are you awake? Are you still feeling uncomfortable?"

She was stunned. "When did you come back?"

"Afternoon." Mrs. Luo sat down beside the bed. "You slept all day."

Chen Qing shook his head and took out his cell phone. It was already eleven o'clock in the evening.

"Oh no! We'll miss a day of rehearsal."

"It's okay. I've looked at the music score. There aren't many changes. It won't be difficult for you."

"Where's Mr. Jiang?"

"In the study." Mrs. Luo took her coat and put it on her back. "He didn't attend the summit dinner, so he rushed back to take care of you."

Chen Qing's heart swelled, and he smiled, "I'll go see him."

"Go ahead."

Mrs. Luo watched her leave, then returned her gaze to the bedside table, as if staring at a foreseeable storm.

Chen Qing came to the outside of the study and could vaguely hear the sound of a phone call coming from inside.

"Don't be angry." Jiang Jingyan said in a lazy tone through the door, "I don't like crowds."

She tiptoed to the door lock, pushed it open, and revealed half of her face.

The man glanced at her indifferently and put out the cigarette in his hand.

Chen Qing squeezed into the room and walked to his side.

Jiang Jingyan didn't look at her or hug her.
