Just as Jiang and Bai were facing imminent danger and were on the verge of losing their lives, two figures were desperately riding horses at breakneck speed.
"Second Young Master, hurry up, or we'll only be able to collect someone's corpse."
March held the reins of another horse, staring at her master with a look of disappointment and frustration.
"Wang Shaoyang has already rushed to Xuchuan. He sent out assassins to silence you. If you don't want to be punished, you'd better be careful!"
"If the young master finds out that you are so lazy, you won't be happy when you go back."
In March, the horse beneath him ran incredibly fast, and Yu Shang's horse was also pulled along at a rapid pace.
Yu Shang clasped his hands behind his head, letting the horse gallop wildly, yet remained motionless on the horse.
"Little March, don't rush."
“I already found out that the Wang family’s assassins are only there to capture people, not to kill them. So what if we’re late? We can just storm into the Wang family’s house and get the people out.”
"Second Young Master."
March was so angry she jumped up and down.
The Crown Prince's order was to rescue the people, not to confront the royal family head-on.
"Tsk, how boring."
Yu Shang muttered something, then finally straightened up, sat up straight, and snatched the reins.
"drive"
The horse shot off like an arrow. March was stunned for a moment, then spat out a curse: "The horse really does resemble its master. I've been pulling you along for so long. If we had this speed, we would have arrived long ago."
Under the moonlight, the two walked one after the other, their figures silhouetted against the stars, raising an invisible layer of dust from the ground.
At the Jiang family home, Jiang Bai's hands were stained with blood, and his body swayed precariously.
Ji Yanwen was barely breathing, leaning against the door, and said weakly, "Otherwise, you should just leave me alone. I'll hold them off for you, and you can take the two of them and escape!"
Jiang Bai fought with all his might and managed to cripple ten assassins, but there were still ten left in the courtyard.
Her hands were shaking so badly they looked like she was having a seizure.
His hair had long since come loose, disheveled, and his white clothes were stained with blood.
This is what evil spirits that come out of hell look like.
Jiang Bai remained silent, her eyes tinged with red, like a cheetah, as she warily stared at the assassins before her.
She suspected that she must have offended the heavens by praying for rain, which was why she was so unlucky.
First came the kidnappers, then the refugees, and now the suicide squad.
This is fate's way of killing her... no, that's not right.
Her gaze swept over Ji Yanwen's body, taking in the numerous wounds, large and small. He must be about to die!
It must be that Heaven is going to destroy him.
Lost in thought, the remaining ten assassins swarmed forward, their blades aimed at Jiang Bai's hands and feet, intending to cripple her.
The red at the corner of Jiang Bai's eye gradually spread towards his eye. Just as he was about to make a move, several hidden weapons suddenly shot out from the darkness. The assassins turned around abruptly and stared at the direction of the courtyard wall.
"Looks like I'm not too late after all!"
Under the moonlight, the person's face was not clearly visible; only a clear and pleasant voice could be heard.
The redness in Jiang Bai's eyes gradually faded, and his body went limp as he fell backward.
"Ouch, you're pressing down on me."
Ji Yanwen gasped, but silently hid the dagger in his hand.
"I can't move, just bear with it!"
Endure? How can you endure this?
Blood gushed from his abdomen, and Ji Yanwen felt dizzy. All he could see was a furry head. He leaned forward as if possessed, and his forehead touched Jiang Bai's soft hair. A faint fragrance wafted over him.
"Jiang Bai, if I die, you should remarry!"
He muttered to himself.
Jiang Bai watched the newcomer fight the group of assassins while silently recovering his strength. Hearing what he said, he couldn't help but roll his eyes.
"If you die, I will only remarry."
Ji Yanwen choked, couldn't catch his breath, and fainted.
Sensing that the person behind him had stopped moving, Jiang Bai paused for a moment, then turned around with difficulty. Seeing him lying on the ground, his life hanging in the balance, Jiang Bai pursed his lips, tore off a piece of his clothes, and wrapped it around the largest wound on the man's body.
"What a piece of trash."
After doing all that, she had no strength left.
Looking at the battlefield again, it was already nearing its end.
The man who came later seemed to have a helper. The two of them, armed with weapons, dealt with the group of assassins in less than fifteen minutes.
"Tsk tsk, who did this? This is too cruel!"
After dealing with the ten assassins, Yu Shang finished off the remaining assassins whose limbs had been crippled, while clicking his tongue in amazement.
In March, she rushed forward and stuffed a pill into Ji Yanwen's mouth.
Just as he was about to hand it to Jiang Bai, he met her gaze and stopped as if possessed.
"Tsk tsk, where did this unlucky guy come from? He's been poked full of holes."
"If he's still alive after all this, he's definitely going to be a menace."
Yu Shang looked at Ji Yanwen on the ground and clicked his tongue in disapproval.
"Second Young Master, please say less!"
March was afraid that the person on the ground might come back to life, so she quickly spoke up to advise him.
Yu Shang pursed her lips and curiously looked at Jiang Bai, who was sitting on the door with her head slightly lowered, making it impossible to see her face clearly. She looked like a harmless cat after being injured.
"Jiang Bai?"
He called out tentatively, and Jiang Bai raised her head slightly. Her eyes, as bright as moonlight, fell into his eyes, and he couldn't help but be momentarily stunned.
Such beautiful eyes.
"My name is Yu Shang, and I'm here to help you."
Jiang Bai smirked, a mocking smile playing on his lips.
"real."
Seemingly afraid she wouldn't believe him, he nodded again to emphasize.
"Then why are you helping me? Do you even know me?"
