Jiang Songwen has grown quite a bit taller and can no longer be carried around.
Jiang Lu pulled him along and quickly ran into the house.
No matter how tall the little guy was, he couldn't be taller than Jiang Lü, so he could only swing his little legs quickly to keep up.
"Awen, look!"
Jiang Lu led him to the bedside and showed him the person on the bed.
Jiang Songwen, panting heavily, looked in the direction Jiang Lu was pointing and saw a thin man lying on the bed. He looked at him with a puzzled expression.
Madam Song sat by the bed, casually pulled him into her arms, and pointed to the person on the bed, saying, "Awen, this is your father, don't you remember?"
father?
Jiang Songwen was full of questions, and speaking his mind, he asked earnestly, "Isn't Father on the mountain?"
After Jiang Anliang died, Song disappeared, and he suffered a lot of torment.
He had very few memories of his parents. When he first met Song Shi, he might have hesitated for a long time if Jiang Bai hadn't pushed him.
The little guy's big eyes were filled with confusion as his missing mother returned and then a father who had died young appeared.
"No, look, Father isn't dead, he's just sick."
Madam Song shook her head repeatedly, then took his hand and led him to hold Jiang Anliang's hand on the bed.
Upon feeling the warmth, Jiang Songwen abruptly pulled his hand away.
Song was stunned for a moment, then thought of Jiang Anliang, who had been lying in bed for almost a year and had become emaciated.
Children are naturally forgetful, so it's normal for them to forget for a moment. So I squatted down and comforted him, "Awen, this really is your father."
Jiang Lu, who was standing next to her, chimed in, her eyes showing a hint of anxiety.
"Awen, don't you recognize our father?"
The happiest person to say that Jiang Anliang is still alive is Jiang Lü.
Seeing that Jiang Songwen was not close to Jiang Anliang, she became anxious.
"Oh, I don't recognize you."
The little guy answered with a straightforward and confident tone, leaving Song and Jiang Lu speechless.
"Alright, Er Ya, you take him out first!"
Madam Song sighed, knowing that the child was still too young to remember what Jiang Anliang looked like.
The siblings left the room, and Jiang Songwen walked towards the ancestral hall that was set up separately in the family.
"Awen, what are you doing?"
Jiang Lu followed behind him, and was completely bewildered when she saw him taking incense and candles from the ancestral hall with such precociousness.
"I'm going to see Dad."
Before Jiang Lu could react, he grabbed the things and rushed out, ordering Jia Yi to send someone to lead him toward Jiang Anliang's grave.
When he arrived at the grave, he didn't say anything, but lit the incense and candles, and the paper money emitted a wisp of smoke.
Jiang Lu caught up and saw this scene. Thinking that her father was still alive, but Awen was burning paper money here, she became anxious and rushed forward to pull out the incense and candles, and the paper money was all extinguished.
"Awen, Dad is still alive, how can you burn paper money for him? Aren't you cursing him?"
Jiang Anliang finally returned, and Jiang Lu was both surprised and delighted, fearing that Jiang Songwen's actions had cursed him and that Heaven would take his life.
He didn't even consider Jiang Songwen's thoughts for a moment.
Ashes from the paper money flew everywhere, passing right in front of Jiang Songwen's stunned eyes, leaving him speechless.
Seeing his expression, Jiang Lu belatedly realized something was wrong and said anxiously and worriedly, "Awen, I'm not..."
Jiang Songwen pursed his lips, stared at her intently for a moment, his eyes reddened, he pushed her away, and turned to run away.
“Awen”.
“Awen”.
Jiang Lu was extremely annoyed and took off after him, but was stopped by Jiang Bai after only two steps.
Her eyes were red, like a child who had done something wrong.
"Sister, I...I didn't mean to."
Jiang Bai sighed, patted her head, and said, "I know."
It's normal for the siblings to have a misunderstanding because one is overjoyed that their father is still alive, while the other doesn't recognize his biological father at all.
"You go back first, I'll go check on Awen."
Jiang Lu was anxious and afraid that Jiang Songwen would feel even more uncomfortable if he saw her, so she nodded repeatedly: "Then you should go quickly, sister."
Jiang Bai didn't say anything more to her and left in the blink of an eye.
When Jiang Songwen was found, he was sitting on a tree branch, holding onto the trunk beside him, staring into the distance with unfocused eyes.
Jiang Bai flew up into the tree and looked in the direction he was looking, and found that it was the direction of Jiang Anliang's grave.
What is Awen thinking about?
Jiang Bai sat down beside him, speaking softly.
Jiang Songwen blinked, raised his hand to wipe away the tears on his face, and replied, "I miss my father."
"Oh? Doesn't Awen not recognize his father?"
Jiang Bai raised an eyebrow in surprise. She had thought he was upset about Jiang Lu's actions, but it turned out he wasn't.
“I recognize him.”
“That’s not my father.”
The little guy couldn't stop the tears from streaming down his face, wiping them away again and again.
Seeing that his sleeves were wet, and his eyes were red and somewhat swollen, Jiang Bai handed him another handkerchief.
He wiped his face and continued, "He's not my father."
Not knowing why he said that, Jiang Bai asked, "How does Awen know that's not Father?"
She suspected Jiang Anliang's identity because she thought it was too coincidental. But Jiang Songwen was just a child, so how could he be so sure that the person was not Jiang Anliang?
Even more certain than she was.
"No, the taste is wrong."
"Perhaps it's because Father has been lying down for too long, so he has a different smell on him."
Jiang Songwen shook his head vigorously.
“It’s different, he’s not my father.”
The little guy didn't know how to explain, and just kept shaking his head, refusing to admit that the person in the yard was Jiang Anliang.
