Jiang Minchang's eyes were bloodshot as he silently observed Jiang Bai's expression.
Seeing that she ignored Jiang Anlin and the other man's pleas for mercy, and that her face showed nothing but cold mockery, his heart sank further.
My heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally died.
"Alright, stop begging her, she won't let us off the hook."
Having lived for several decades longer, Jiang Minchang could tell from Jiang Bai's expression that she wouldn't let them go.
Although he didn't know why she hated them so much, he figured it was nothing more than being treated like slaves, nothing to be afraid of.
"Ahhh."
Jiang Songzong was different. From the moment Jiang Bai sold them out and had them tied up, he guessed that Jiang Songwen's affair must have been exposed.
Thinking of his second uncle Jiang Anshan's family, who had been spared by Jiang Bai, Jiang Songzong felt a surge of hatred.
They must have told them, otherwise Jiang Bai wouldn't have known.
He tried to call out, but Jiang Minchang and the others did not understand what he was so anxious about.
"It seems that my grandfather understands me best."
Jiang Bai glanced at Jiang Minchang in surprise.
Jiang Minchang lowered his eyes and snorted coldly: "You're nothing but a monster in human skin. You've done such heinous things, you'll get your retribution sooner or later."
Jiang Bai pondered his words and suddenly chuckled.
"I've already donned human skin, how can I still be considered a monster?"
She admitted it.
Jiang Minchang and the others felt a chill in their hearts.
Although they had long suspected that Jiang Bai was possessed, she had never admitted it before. Now that she had admitted it, they were at a loss for what to do.
"What...what do you want with us brought here?"
A sense of fear finally rose in Jiang Minchang's heart. He belatedly realized that the reason they had been tied up since they were bought was to wait for Jiang Bai to come.
This is not normal.
Even if their family wasn't worth much money, they shouldn't have been dragged to a dilapidated temple.
Therefore, this could only be Jiang Bai's idea.
"Well, it's nothing really, I just have a few questions I'd like to ask you."
Jiang Bai sighed softly and squatted down in front of them.
"We won't tell you anything."
Wang spat fiercely, but Jiang Bai retreated quickly, and the phlegm missed her.
Jiang Bai's face turned cold. He grabbed Jiang Songhu's hair and shoved him directly into the phlegm that Wang Shi had spat out.
Jiang Songhu felt nauseous, his stomach churning, and he vomited repeatedly, but only managed to spit out a little bit of sour liquid.
Wang was stunned for a moment, then let out a howl and rammed her head towards Jiang Bai.
Jiang Bai casually stepped aside, and she fell heavily to the ground.
"You're not human, Jiang Bai, you're a monster, you're not human."
"Tiger is your cousin, how could you treat him like that?"
Jiang Anlin subconsciously stepped back, afraid that Jiang Bai would also press him against that phlegm. Just thinking about it made his skin crawl.
Jiang Minchang was so angry that his beard trembled.
"Alright, just ask us whatever questions you have. There's no need to humiliate us like this."
Jiang Bai raised an eyebrow and squatted down again.
"Grandpa, is my father your biological son?" Her voice was very soft, but to Jiang Minchang it was like a thunderclap from a clear sky.
His eyelids trembled violently, but his expression remained unchanged.
"Of course it is. Your father isn't my biological son. Did he spring out of a rock or something?"
He spoke with absolute certainty, but the tremor in his voice betrayed him.
Upon hearing this, Wang, on the other side, also stopped her cursing and lowered her head, seemingly lost in thought.
"Uncle, is what my grandfather said true?"
Jiang Anlin was completely bewildered.
"What do you mean, 'real' or 'fake'? If your dad wasn't your grandparents' biological son, then who was?"
He genuinely didn't understand, and the expression on his face reflected that he truly didn't.
"Heh, if he were your own son, how could you, as his grandparents, just sit idly by and watch this beast bully Awen?" Jiang Bai sneered, then kicked Jiang Songzong, who was standing next to him, hard.
Wang Shi and Jiang Minchang's expressions changed simultaneously, and even Jiang Songhu's eyes became shifty.
Only Jiang Anlin remained completely baffled.
"What are you talking about? What bullying? He was just locked up for a few days, is that bullying?" Jiang Anlin said with a sullen face, feeling that Jiang Bai was making a mountain out of a molehill.
He didn't notice that after Jiang Bai said that sentence, Wang Shi and Jiang Minchang fell into an eerie silence.
Why aren't you saying anything?
Seeing that the Wang family remained silent, Jiang Bai's mockery became even more pronounced.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Jiang Minchang spoke calmly, even though the fear in his heart was about to overflow, he insisted that he knew nothing.
He now understood why Jiang Bai had suddenly gone mad.
It seems they discovered what happened to Jiang Songwen.
Thinking of this, he glanced at Jiang Songzong subtly, then took a deep breath.
“I know we took Awen in but didn’t take good care of him, but you can’t just throw mud at us like that.”
"We are your own grandparents after all. Aren't you afraid of being struck by lightning by God for doing this?"
"That's right, you've gone too far! Even if we take this to the authorities, we're in the right!" Wang retorted defiantly, her neck stiff with rage.
Jiang Bai shook his head and sighed, "I knew you wouldn't admit it."
"But it's okay, I was just asking casually, it doesn't matter whether you admit it or not."
