The thing was about the size of a thumb, with a bluish-brown skin, and looked like some kind of fruit from the Murakami region.
"This thing?"
Yu Shang reached out and took it, glanced at it, and then turned to look at March.
“Young master, you’ve forgotten, we picked these at the foot of the mountain when we went to Pingshan the day before yesterday.”
In March, the corner of his mouth twitched. At the time, this guy had said that this thing looked strange and that it would be nice to play with it as a pellet.
It's only been a few days, and you've already forgotten everything?
"Look, you heard it, it was picked at the foot of Pingshan Mountain."
Yu Shang pursed his lips, observing Jiang Bai's expression, wondering if this thing was something extraordinary.
"Really? I'm just curious; I've never seen this before."
Jiang Bai was on guard.
Since she discovered the secret of the stone gate, Pingshan has become quite lively.
First there were those ten people who barged into the passageway, and then there was this young master who looked like he came from a wealthy family. These people might just be looking for her treasure.
"By the way, why are there only the two of you? Where are your younger siblings?"
Yu Shang casually threw the thing on the ground, not believing a word Jiang Bai said.
Peeking into her house, they rudely looked around, searching for Jiang Lu and Jiang Songwen.
"Young master seems to know our family quite well."
Jiang Bai chuckled, causing Yu Shang's back to stiffen. He forced a dry laugh and said, "Isn't it just curiosity? Why did Wang Shaoyang insist on capturing you siblings? I'm just curious, that's all."
Jiang Bai: Do you think I believe you or not?
She stared straight at him, clearly not believing his blatant attempt to cover something up.
Yu Shang was so embarrassed that he scratched his toes on the ground and was immediately defeated.
"Alright, since you're all settled, I'll be going now."
After saying that, without giving Jiang Bai time to react, he left with Sanyue.
Jiang Bai listened intently for a while, and only relaxed after confirming that the person had left.
After lying there for another fifteen minutes, and seeing no one else come over, he called out into the house, "Er Ya, come out!"
Jiang Lu released Jiang Songwen's mouth and led him out from under the bed.
The little girl's eyes were red and swollen, and there was some snot on her sleeve.
"Sister, are you alright?"
Even though she couldn't see the fighting outside, she could imagine how dangerous it must have been. Jiang Lu secretly regretted that she hadn't practiced martial arts diligently enough, otherwise she could have helped her older sister.
"Don't worry about me, help your brother-in-law into the house."
Jiang Bai refused Jiang Lu's help and pointed at Ji Yanwen on the ground.
Jiang Lu glanced at Jiang Bai with concern before going over to help Ji Yanwen up.
The unconscious person was so heavy that they could only support half of their body before they could no longer move them.
At this moment, Jiang Bai reached out and, with the little strength he had regained, helped Ji Yanwen inside and placed him on the bed.
"Sister is too weak. Er Ya, you and A Wen go dig some soil and clean up the bloodstains in the yard."
The two men only cleaned up the people, but not the bloodstains left from the fight. It had been so long since the drought started, and water essence was very precious; they dared not use it to wash the yard.
"I understand, sister. You should get some rest."
"Let Awen stay here with you. I can clean the yard by myself."
The little girl showed extraordinary strength; even when she saw the yard full of blood, she did not show any fear.
Seeing that Jiang Bai nodded in agreement, she went out and took a shovel to clear the yard.
"Big sister, it doesn't hurt."
Jiang Songwen stared longingly at Jiang Bai, his hands gripping hers tightly, his eyes dark and bright.
Jiang Bai was too weak to hold on any longer. He could only manage a weak smile before his vision went black and he fainted.
"Big sister."
The little guy's pupils dilated, and he quickly let go of Jiang Bai's hand, struggling to lift her legs onto the bed. Then, as before, he climbed onto the bed, grabbed her hands, and occasionally uttered, "Big sister, it doesn't hurt, humph."
And so, she sat on Jiang Bai's bed all night.
After cleaning up the yard, Jiang Lu busied herself tidying up the house, and even scattered some vegetable seeds on the soil outside the yard.
After sitting blankly in front of the bare vegetable garden for a long time, Jiang Lu's expression hardened, and she turned around and went back to the yard to practice martial arts.
Again and again, and again.
Even when she was parched and drenched in sweat from practicing, she never stopped.
Jiang Songwen came out of the house in his slippers. When he saw her movements, he tilted his head, then ran over to her side and imitated her movements, practicing together.
The siblings remained silent, except for the sweat dripping from their martial arts practice.
The two 'adults' in the family have fallen ill, which has made the two younger ones more mature.
Seeing that everyone in the village except the injured man had started working in the fields, turning over the soil and planting beans, Jiang Lu followed their example, dug up the bean seedlings that had died a few days ago, and together with Jiang Songwen, replanted the beans.
Jiang Bai slept until the afternoon. The house was quiet, and the room was filled with a fishy smell.
That was the stench emanating from Ji Yanwen.
With so much blood lost, the weather was hot, and the room was stuffy and smelly.
Jiang Bai regained some strength, but not much, just about the strength of a normal woman.
To return to normal, it may take some more time to recover.
I got up and went to the next room. Ji Yanwen was lying on the bed. His complexion didn't show much change, but his breathing was a little heavy. The back of his exposed hand was a little red.
Jiang Bai reached out and touched the side of his ear, and suddenly, he grabbed her hand.
