Day 13 of failed attempt
"Can't!!"
The big boss and Deathstroke both turned their heads, and Peter's ownership was no longer just a matter of dividing profits, but had risen to a matter of face between the two.
Whoever is chosen by Peter will win this battle.
A good successor is hard to find, and Deathstroke may seem to treat Peter badly, but that's just an appearance; in reality, he loves him very much.
In the smoke-filled banquet hall, the two were locked in a stalemate. Deathstroke gave Peter a meaningful look, signaling him to get away from the fray and watch how the big boss fought from a distance.
Besides, that deadbeat boss doesn't have many days left to live. If he can just hold on, he'll win!
Thinking of the many favors he owed Deathstroke, Peter shrugged and walked away.
The big boss didn't stop him. He was indeed very impressed with the capable Peter, who was decisive and ruthless yet warm-hearted, and courageous in pioneering yet also respectful of the situation.
If Peter stays in his position for a few more years, he can take the gang to unprecedented heights.
It's a pity, the big boss thinks it's a pity, Peter's ambitions lie elsewhere.
He could help Deathstroke settle the debt he owed him, and even Deathstroke would be tempted if the benefits were tempting enough. As long as he was tempted, everything was negotiable.
Seeing the smug look on Deathstroke's face, the big boss silently thought that he would be disappointed in the end. Even if Peter followed him out of the banquet hall now, Peter would leave later, no, he should say after the matter of Mexico was over.
The big boss didn't believe that Peter, who had amassed enough power, would still grovel under Deathstroke's nose.
Off-screen, Adrian was tearing at the seahorse doll. If he had mind-reading abilities, he would definitely agree with the big boss.
The leader, of course, wouldn't go back to Deathstroke's side and get involved in the messy affairs of the League of Assassins.
As the boss got closer and closer to the lounge, Adrian turned off the system monitoring.
He'd grown somewhat accustomed to the sight of the furry paws scratching on the carpet, even after just a few days.
Adrian tilted his head and played with the doll, but dared not bite too hard.
The comforting doll left to him by his elder brother before he passed away shouldn't be scattered in pieces.
He's currently an adorable dog, a little dog without superpowers but who understands his boss perfectly. If he ruins the dog's image, his boss's favorability will drop to negative numbers!
Will the boss suspect that he approached him with a secret he was hiding?
Although Adrian did indeed harbor a secret, heaven knows he only wanted to gain the boss's favor to provide case studies for future rollbacks.
The large dog on the carpet drooped its ears, lost in the miserable imagining of being discovered by its boss to be a fake, but—
—What the heck is that feeling?
Feeling something was wrong in his mouth, Adrian immediately spat out the seahorse doll.
Ahhh, I've been exposed!!
The sight of the seahorse doll with its cotton stuffing sticking out lying pitifully on the blanket made Adrian feel guilty for a moment, but a second later he shook his fur. What did he have to feel guilty about?
It was just one of many toys his older brother had given him. So what if it broke? He had many more, and his older brother would give him even more.
In the blink of an eye, Adrian, biting the doll, was searching everywhere for a hiding place for the 'corpse'.
This was a gift from the boss.
Under the table? Behind the sofa? In the wine cabinet
No, no, it's all too obvious.
As soon as Peter opened the door, he saw Ali sticking out his puppy butt and acting suspiciously with his back to the door.
He deliberately made his footsteps louder.
The little dog, who had been secretly hiding something, nonchalantly turned its head and tilted it, feigning composure as it woofed.
It's as if they're saying, "Boss, you're back!"
Peter covered his mouth with his fist and laughed, "Hey Ali, what are you hiding from me?"
"Woof!" How could that be? I'm just an innocent and cute little dog.
Adrian whimpered twice and snuggled against the boss's calf, pleading, "Please don't hold me accountable for how cute I am."
Peter, seized by a mischievous impulse, patted the puppy's head and then, with lightning speed, pulled back the floor-length curtains.
Adrian: !!
Boss, what's wrong with you? You even lied to a dog.
Peter suddenly picked up the 'little' dog, and Ali's foot stepped on Peter's hip bone in the struggle, the heavy kick making Peter's face stiffen.
He thought Ali should lose weight. Peter completely forgot that he used to feed Ali five different meals a day, with countless snacks in between.
Peter placed Ali's forelegs on his shoulders, supporting his hips with one hand and his back with the other, and lifted him up like a baby.
"Let me see what Alibaba is hiding from me."
Adrian whimpered twice and covered his eyes with his paws.
"Oh, so it's a doll. It seems that our Ali also knows that it's wrong to bite and damage a doll and has learned to cover up the evidence."
Peter said meaningfully to Ali, deliberately drawing out his words, "Bad little dog."
Adrian, enraged, barked: "Woof woof woof!"
So what if he bit me? What can he do about it?
And he's not a bad little dog.
Noticing Ali's displeasure, Peter gently stroked the puppy's back. "I was wrong. I shouldn't have speculated about the great puppy. It's just a toy. How can it compare to the preciousness of the puppy?"
"Woof," you're smart to know your place.
Great little dog, I forgive your disrespect.
Peter was about to leave, still holding the baby, when Adrian stopped him.
"Woof woof," boss, you forgot about my toy.
“Sorry, I forgot, my mistake,” Peter picked up the seahorse plush toy and hugged the puppy again.
"The big boss's business is finished. Let's wrap things up, and after 'introducing' Mrs. Skevich to Deathstroke, we'll travel the world. Have you ever seen a snow-capped mountain?"
Peter suddenly had a brilliant idea, "Let's go climb a snow-capped mountain! How about we check out Mount Everest and climb the world's highest peak..."
Adrian's head was buzzing. No matter what the boss said afterward, all he remembered was that the boss was going to take him to climb the snow mountain.
Taking a dog hiking in a snow-covered mountain? Is that okay?
He then remembered that this was a game, and a game that was detached from materialism. Why couldn't the puppy climb the snow mountain?
Peter muttered about the items he and Ali needed to prepare for their mountain climb, saying that if this moment could last forever, it would be the most anticipated moment of his life.
From now on, the sky will be high and the clouds will be wide. Deathstroke and Batman will have nothing to do with him. He will not have to be dragged into the mold of a dead ghost by life. Everyone in the know hopes that he is Jason Todd. No one cares that he has no memory after waking up.
So he preferred to be Peter.
[Note: The world timeline is about to converge. Observers, please prepare to log out.]
Ignoring the system warning, Adrian leaned on his boss's shoulder and watched the world gradually darken.
The tall young man on the screen, carrying his beloved little dog, gradually walked away until he disappeared, until the system settlement page froze.

【yes】
To Adrian:
The past cannot be changed, the timeline cannot be deviated from, everyone's fate is still predetermined, and my will will not change.
When you see this letter, the world will already be under lockdown. Don't waste your time repeatedly logging in and out, whether it was a long, long time ago or now □□ (crossed out).
And I recognize you; don't pretend to be a puppy to fool people.
Finally, best wishes. Perhaps I've forgotten something (scratching and rewriting), please... never mind. I wish you happiness every day, and I'm with you.
Your Jason Todd/Peter
