Day 15 of customs clearance

Day 15 of customs clearance

The boss's underlings are essentially the boss's subordinates; they're all treated like cattle and horses.

24 o'clock, the end of one day and the beginning of another. When the Bat-type vigilantes are active, too many fish will make the water murky. The activity of the Bat-type vigilantes implies that the villains are active.

Some people, clinging to wishful thinking, fantasize that they are the lucky ones who escaped from Batman and his crew.

Some people have been relentlessly provoking Batman, such as Arkham Knight.

Adrian lay prone on the container, a sniper rifle set up in front of him. The boss may not be omnipotent, but the underlings absolutely cannot be. The boss's appreciation is more precious than gold.

In order to win the boss's real money—I mean, appreciation—Adrian must do what he can, even if he can't. Viewers in the live stream, do you think I can succeed?

Forget about the fact that there was no audience, only the boss's other henchman, his rival John Jones.

Adrian's gaze swept over the slightly taller container on the other side, and he knew that there might be a sniper rifle pointed right at his head.

Those with dubious motives and origins can enjoy the suspicion of the Arkham Knight, like him, and like him.

Adrian must simultaneously launch sniper attacks while keeping a close watch on his colleagues, using them as bait to lure out his true boss and make a significant contribution to the Arkham Knights' cause of rebuilding Gotham.

At night, countless containers obscured two groups of gangsters conducting a transaction against the wind at the dock.

"Roman, you're still alive!"

The short, round-faced middle-aged man, holding a black umbrella, looked on with suspicion and uncertainty. Upon seeing the man in front of him, even his hooked nose seemed to twitch.

The man called Roman didn't care about his loss of voice. "If I died, who would come to trade with you? We all know what happened last time, Cop. If you hadn't been trying to maximize your profits by swaying between several companies, which led to the leak, I wouldn't be in such a sorry state!"

The penguin looked embarrassed, but quickly regained his composure:

“I’ve compared the buyers back and forth and there’s nothing wrong with it. As for leaking information, has Sester been caught? I have no problem with that. On the contrary, you’ve laid a trap but not only did you not catch him, you also let him infiltrate the Knights.”

"Tsk tsk, a subordinate who betrayed you while being hunted down, oh wait, that was your highly regarded successor, how can that be considered defection?" the Penguin mocked smugly.

Those who know you best know where to stab you to hurt the most, and that's exactly what you see in the black-masked man's face, blacker than black.

Beneath the mask, his jaw muscles were taut, and his black-masked eyes held a sinister glint as he looked at the mocking penguin, wishing he could skin him alive on the spot.

Sensing the escalating tension, both sides gripped their guns tightly. Seeing this, Black Mask's henchman stepped forward: "Boss, the Penguin is stalling us. What if Batman arrives..."

The confidant didn't continue, but Black Mask had already snapped out of his daze. He looked suspiciously at Penguin, trying to discern something from his face.

The penguin's face stiffened; he felt frustrated at being seen through so quickly, but he was mentally strong and quickly composed himself, saying:

"My dear Roman, let's talk about the lost goods from last time. Did you really find them?"

"Of course, otherwise why would I contact you? I'm a man of my word, unlike some people."

It seems his old friend is quite bothered by his constant back-and-forth behavior. The penguin smiled and said, "I'm sorry."

"I apologize for my inappropriate language, Roman. You know I'm just a poor, weak businessman. You'll have to pay more to solidify my ideas."

The penguin thought he did the right thing. How could a penniless wretch like him expect him to uphold his integrity? How could he not let his goods rot in his hands forever?

"Is it the kind of goods that I have in my hands, and a middleman is selling them in advance?"

The man in black mask didn't hesitate to reveal the truth.

The penguin gave an awkward laugh, then said confidently, "I only used some normal business methods. You know, without me, your goods might either be stuck in your hands or stolen by your good heir. Seriously, you really didn't collude with each other? Your relationship is too complicated."

Black Mask was furious that most of his territory had been taken away, but he hadn't issued a kill order against the Arkham Knights yet. Even the bounty on the black market was for their capture alive. How could the Penguin believe that the two of them weren't working together to do this to him?

Through the listening device, Penguin and Black Mask kept circling around the last shipment and the Arkham Knights, which is how Adrian learned about his boss's past identity.

The heir of Black Mask, once the most valued figure in Gotham's underground gang, is still remembered by him. Even though he committed countless acts of betrayal that would have made Black Mask want to kill him, Black Mask still hopes that he will turn back from the wrong path and inherit his business.

Adrian recalled Black Mask's former territory; even though it had been largely annexed by the Arkham Knights, there was still much unclaimed land.

Adrian felt a little regretful that the boss hadn't pretended to be a dutiful son in front of Black Mask and then unexpectedly seized all of his territory. Black Mask's most valued successor had too many room for manipulation.

For example, they might use the name of "Black Mask" to instigate battles with various gangs and seize territory. Then, they might sow discord in front of "Black Mask" so that he faces gang warfare head-on. When the time comes, he dies in a gang fight, and they continue fighting and seizing territory under the guise of avenging their boss...

There were other less-than-normal ways, Adrian thought to himself, what a great way to seize power! Territory, power, money—he could have anything he wanted. Based on his observation of the boss, it was all because the boss was too righteous.

Adrian could only console himself that the boss has his own way of doing things, and the underlings shouldn't worry about it.

"As always, we'll inspect the goods first, so that we can both feel at ease."

The Penguin poked the ground with the tip of his umbrella. Batman should have arrived by now.

The man in the black mask waved his hand, and his confidant stepped forward carrying a silver briefcase, followed by a man whose face was obscured by two burly men.

After they stood in line, the man in black gestured to his men to take a vial of medicine from his briefcase and inject it into the man's neck. "This is just a sample. The real goods are coming later. Cash on delivery. Copper is playing some tricks!"

Penguin straightened up. "My friend, what do you take me for? Everyone in Gotham knows my name, Cobbert. I'm an honest and law-abiding businessman."

Black Mask remained silent about the Penguins' self-aggrandizing behavior, saying that once the money was in hand, the hateful Cobblestone would die as he was supposed to!

The pale green medicine lay in the cryogenic suitcase. A sharp needle pierced the diaphragm, and the unfortunate man who was grabbed to test the medicine was terrified. However, his mouth was taped shut, so he couldn't make a sound. Only his legs kept struggling backward, fully expressing his unwillingness.

Just as the unfortunate man was about to despair as the needle drew closer and closer, a sound of shattering glass rang out.

The gang members, seasoned veterans of Gotham's vigilante justice system, quickly picked up their guns, even though most of them were a little weak in the knees.

Things took a turn for the worse, with milky white smoke rising rapidly from all directions.

In Gotham at night, there's only one group of people who like to use smoke to block their vision. Someone shouted, their voice almost cracking, "Batman! It's Batman!"

"Protect the BOSS..."

The scene was chaotic. When they realized there were no pointed ears, some of the thugs stood up, but they quickly realized it wasn't Batman, but Robin.

And a guy who wields a long stick.

The Penguin and Black Mask, having escaped the battle under layers of protection, split up in unison. Staying behind at this point would only mean taking a beating. While Robin was distracted, they might still have a chance to escape. Once they were free, Arkham Asylum would be their final destination.

They absolutely did not want to go back and face the white wall in repentance, much less confront the clown who was about to pull a big stunt.

Who knows how the clown and the scarecrow got together!

Intuition told Black Mask to stay as far away from the two of them as possible, which was one of the reasons he risked continuing the deal with the Penguin—he wanted to know if the Penguin was aware of the situation.

However, recalling the Penguin's nonchalant manner when he escaped, Black Mask's heart sank. That traitor, he must be working with Batman!

Once he got away, he immediately wanted Penguin to eat his bullet, Black Mask thought fiercely as he fled.

"Boss, where do we go next? Robin and his crew have taken control of the helicopter!"

The panting confidant spoke anxiously, hoping his godlike leader would show them the way.

"If flying isn't feasible, we'll take the land route, and send some people to take the sea route..."

Before the man in black could finish speaking, he noticed his subordinate suddenly collapse, his chest darkening in the dim light of the night.

"A sniper has gone prone!"

The man in black, following the trajectory of the bullet, rolled to the back of the container, clutching his head. He gripped his gun tightly, but the subordinates falling one by one around him told him that the newcomers were hostile.

Who on earth was it?! The Bat-like vigilante doesn't know how to use a gun, which shameless colleague wanted to take his life when he was at his most vulnerable!

Black Mask thought of all his enemies but couldn't figure it out.

Of course, he couldn't figure it out. Adrian sneered as he sniped his colleague down. Wouldn't the next colleague who didn't follow the boss's orders be the one to be sniped? When he discovered that his undercover colleague had fired without permission, Adrian impulsively wanted to take him down.

In fact, he did take action.

Except for the first shot, which was fired by Jones's colleague, all the rest were fired by Adrian. The first shot incapacitated Jones, and the subsequent shots left Black Mask isolated and helpless.

Boss, you absolutely have to be there, otherwise his remote support will be too helpless!

Adrian frantically urged his boss in the channel to act quickly to prevent Black Mask from escaping.

"No matter what method is used to bring back Black Mask, regardless of life or death."

Adrian, who received a reply: ......

"Okay, boss."

After replying, Adrian felt that "okay" sounded familiar for some reason. Then he remembered. Ever since he entered the game and latched onto the Arkham Knight, "okay" had become his catchphrase.

The Arkham Knight had no time for Black Mask; all his attention was now drawn to Red Robin wielding a staff.

That alternative!
