Chapter Five Taoist

Chapter Five Taoist

Chapter Five

Wen Zhuo, completely bewildered, stumbled into the room, stopping just before she was embedded in the bed.

She was floating on the bed, her head down. The blankets on the bed were folded to the side, and the headboard was piled with dolls. She didn't know who bought them, but they looked terribly ugly. Wouldn't she have nightmares if she woke up in the middle of the night and saw them?

The largest doll is placed in the very center, surrounded by the other dolls.

Wen Zhuo stared at the strangely colored doll in the very center with shark teeth. Its eyes were narrowed into slits in a lewd manner, and its teeth were crooked, making it look like it was speaking with a lisp. It was really ugly. What kind of taste did it have? Wen Zhaoye must have bought it!

Does Wen Zhaoye usually like this kind of thing?

She stared at it a few more times, and the more she looked at it, the uglier it seemed. So she turned around and began to examine the other corners of the room. There was a long sofa next to the bed, covered with a fluffy blanket, and piled with many dolls.

The doll, which was just as ugly as the other one, was smiling at her with its head bent in a semi-circle.

Wen Zhuo: "..." Actually, it's probably a collecting habit, otherwise why would they all be so ugly?

The bedroom connected to a walk-in closet, where clothes were neatly arranged in sets, so Wen Zhuo didn't need to put together any outfits herself. The room was large, with transparent glass cabinets filled with all sorts of ornaments. In the middle, a bookcase stood out conspicuously, and Wen Zhuo went over to take a look.

There weren't any serious books; they were mostly random novels and well-known study guides.

Although the items are a jumbled mess, they are arranged very neatly, categorized by color and book height, making them very easy on the eyes.

Wen Zhuo circled around again, but still couldn't find his things.

The room was cluttered, with the desk decorations scattered haphazardly. On the opposite desk sat a cute ornament, and turning around, you could see another similarly designed ornament at the far end of the room; the two were clearly a pair.

Wen Zhuo looked left and right, and apart from not finding his things, he was extremely satisfied with the room.

What's wrong with her stuffing her things haphazardly? Doesn't she know what "order within chaos" means?

"Buzz~"

Wen Zhuo suddenly looked up, rubbed the small doll he had picked up from the sofa at some point, and casually tossed it back.

Whose phone is ringing? It sounds like it's coming from the other end of the line.

Curious, she drifted towards the opposite room. The room was decorated in an elaborate and beautiful style. There were dolls scattered on the bed, and a sofa that looked very soft was placed far away from the bed. There were also quite a few ugly dolls on it.

Wen Zhuo frowned. How could this room be exactly the same as the other one? It was really strange. When she entered the room again, the decor was completely different from before, as if it had been completely renovated in the short few minutes she had left.

Wen Zhu shook her head and rubbed her eyes. Could she have seen wrong?

She circled the newly renovated, minimalist black, white, and gray room twice.

But the current decor is almost completely different from the original, it's practically devoid of any human presence, so how could she possibly mistake it for something else?

She inexplicably drifted back, and after a few seconds of leaving, she suddenly turned back and made a surprise return.

!

She looked around, but nothing had changed. Her wide eyelids slowly drooped, and she scratched her head.

Okay, forget it.

Wen Zhuo returned with a puzzled look on his face and poked at the phone on the table.

The phone, which had automatically hung up after a long silence, vibrated again at just the right moment.

"Buzz~"

"Buzz~"

The screen lit up, displaying two words.

elder brother.

Wen Zhuo shrank back, groaning! How cheesy!

What's wrong with this person? She's only been gone a few minutes, is it really necessary to act like this?

She seemed to have suddenly been infested with fleas, scratching her head and ears for a while before reluctantly answering the phone with a frown.

A cold voice rang out: "Why did it take you so long to answer the phone?"

Wen Zhuo asked in confusion, "Who knew you would call?"

Wen Zhaoye glanced at the computer screen and asked, "Are you satisfied with the room? It's exactly the same as your previous one."

Wen Zhuo didn't mind his deliberate attempt to change the subject. She walked around the room a few more times and said with satisfaction, "I like it."

Wen Zhaoye responded, "I'm glad you like it. If you want anything else, just send me the message."

"Are you going out for a stroll later?"

Wen Zhuo did want to go out and play, but she always felt that she would be stopped and pulled back to Wen Zhaoye's side as soon as she said it.

Wen Zhuo's fingers were gripping the edge of the table, and without noticing the force, a deep mark suddenly appeared on the edge. Startled, Wen Zhuo quickly grabbed an ornament to cover it and retorted skillfully, "What's wrong with wanting to go out and play? I can play whenever I want on my own turf."

Wen Zhaoye laughed on the other end, though it was unclear what he was laughing about. After a moment, he replied, "You spent all day yesterday and still didn't see the whole villa? Were you cosplaying as a turtle yesterday?"

Wen Zhuo: "..."

Has anyone told you that you speak very rudely?

"No, but someone has mentioned you."

"What about me?"

"If I say you can't speak, does that mean you have an intellectual problem?"

Wen Zhuo was puzzled: "What does this have to do with intelligence? Isn't it a matter of emotional intelligence? Don't overstep your bounds."

What the hell is this?

"Who is he to judge me like that? Aren't you going to criticize him?"

Wen Zhaoye agreed, "I told him to get out of the Wen family."

Wen Zhuo nodded in satisfaction, then suddenly remembered something. "Ahem," Wen Zhuo cleared her throat, "Hello, sir, your words are really unpleasant. I suggest you correct them."

Then he slammed the phone down.

Wen Zhuo was very satisfied with his clever move. He spread his hands and sank himself into the bed behind him, with only his head and hands sticking out.

The scene was extremely bizarre.

Wen Zhuo turned on her phone, only to find that it had a lock screen password!

Who exactly is this being guarded against?!

She tried to guess the password using muscle memory, her fingers hovering over the screen for a long time, but she couldn't remember anything.

Wen Zhuo was depressed.

Bored, she tossed her phone aside, then suddenly looked up, her nostrils flaring as she caught a whiff of other humans' scent. Curious, she hovered by the window and peered out.

The rusty, wet door was pushed open with a creak. The person in the door, wearing a long trench coat and with his silver hair casually tossed up, and black diamond earrings sparkling, muttered angrily as he pushed the door open: "When is Wen Zhaoye going to replace this broken door? I don't know what he's keeping it for."

Wen Zhuo glanced at his short-sleeved shirt and then recalled Wen Zhaoye's neat suit and shirt.

Aren't you hot wearing so much in the summer?

It must have been hot. The man walked quickly, but he was forced to stop as soon as he entered the villa. It might have been because of the muddy grass, or the two uprooted trees in the yard, or the tangled grass.

Wen Zhuo had no idea. Staring at the remaining flowers and plants in the yard, and the muddy grass, she felt a surge of desire. She vaguely heard the man shout at Wen Zhaoye after entering the villa:

"Wen Zhaoye! Your house has been burgled?!"

Seeing that the people inside didn't react, he knew nothing had happened, so he started kicking them while they were down.

"I told you that your lousy door would get stolen sooner or later."

Wen Zhaoye walked out of the study and gave him a lukewarm glance.

It's been haunted by a ghost.

"Xie Huai, she seems to have amnesia. Will this affect her health?" he asked.

Xie Huai raised an eyebrow, strode into the villa, casually found a sofa to sit down, slowly drank a cup of tea, and said slowly under Wen Zhaoye's increasingly impatient gaze, "It's normal."

Wen Zhaoye's expression was somber, and he remained silent.

Xie Huai suddenly glanced into the distance, then looked away: "It's normal for people to have blurred memories or even lose their memories after turning into vengeful ghosts. Aye, you've seen that before."

Wen Zhaoye nodded. His eyes were dark and gloomy, unlike those of an ordinary person, yet they could reflect the appearance of a ghost.

He knew all this, but he still couldn't accept that Wen Zhuo had forgotten him, so much so that he tried to deceive himself, only to be caught red-handed by the perceptive Wen Zhuo. A faint smile appeared on his lips.

Xie Huai looked at him and felt a pang of sympathy. He wasn't familiar with Wen Zhuo, but he often heard about his sister from Wen Zhaoye.

Wen Zhaoye's words were often tinged with obvious boasting. Even though his tone was flat and his expression was indifferent, he still wore all sorts of decorations that were extremely incompatible with his temperament.

For example, a dark green tie, a light pink shirt, and socks with yellow sponges.

His secretary was so frightened when she saw it that she almost fell to the ground.

After his secretary subtly probed, he casually replied, "It was a gift from my sister."

Nobody even bothered to say hello.

Xie Huai suddenly looked up, his thoughts pulling away from his memories. The faint figure in his memory—no, the ghostly figure—was now standing on the second floor.

That slightly hostile gaze seemed to be his imagination; the ghost only showed half its head, its red eyes like a rabbit's, cowering and hiding, as if it were very afraid of him.

Xie Huai sighed inwardly. Many people change drastically after becoming ghosts, so it's normal for Wen Zhuo to become like this.

He then looked at Wen Zhaoye, preparing to comfort his only good brother, but saw him frowning, taking a deep breath as if suppressing some emotion, and saying coldly, "Wen Zhuo, come down."

Xie Huai was confused, but he knew something was wrong. He hesitated for a moment and then decided to mediate: "It's normal for Xiao Zhu to be like this. She only came up here after seven years, so it's normal for her soul to have some problems."

Is there anything wrong with what you're doing?

Xie Huai said sullenly, "Seven years have passed. It's good enough that you came back at all. What are you complaining about?"

Wen Zhuo's soul disappeared on the second floor, and the next moment, she appeared in front of Wen Zhaoye, looking up at him.

Her face was finally fully revealed to Xie Huai. Wen Zhuo had striking features; her eyes were long and narrow with upturned corners, and below her high nose were thin lips. When she looked up, her eyes were wide open, showing a somewhat dull and pitiful look.

Wen Zhaoye remained silent, his face still cold, as the man and the ghost stared at each other.

Wen Zhuo sensed something was wrong, his expression faltered, and he was about to run away when fate grabbed him by the back of the neck.

Xie Huai asked in surprise, "Why did you arrest her?"

Wen Zhaoye didn't reply to him, but said to Wen Zhuo, "Confess and you'll be treated leniently, resist and you'll be punished severely." He was very familiar with Wen Zhuo's expression; he had clearly done something wrong and was feeling guilty, so he didn't even dare to look at him.

Wen Zhuo was wearing an ill-fitting coat, which made him perfect for being pulled along by Wen Zhaoye.

Wen Zhaoye caught a whiff of the earthy scent. He grabbed Wen Zhuo's hair, which was currently calm and steady. The hair tried to escape in all directions as if facing a formidable enemy, but it couldn't escape Wen Zhaoye's clutches.

Wen Zhaoye could grab a handful of sand with a casual grab.

He laid out the evidence in front of Wen Zhuo: "Where have you been gallivanting off to this time?"

Seeing that her scheme had been exposed, Wen Zhuo's feigned expression vanished instantly. She raised her head and said, "This is my territory. What's wrong with me playing in my garden?"

Wen Zhaoye started taking off her coat: "Are you a pig? Do you like rolling around in the mud?"

Wen Zhuo slapped his hand away, threw her coat on Wen Zhaoye, revealing her mud-splattered pajamas: "You're my brother, aren't you a pig too?"

So now you know to acknowledge this guy as your brother, right?

Wen Zhaoye was speechless when he saw that she was as dirty as a pig and still came out to eavesdrop on their conversation.

He grabbed Wen Zhuo by the collar and led him to the bathroom: "Aren't you a ghost? Can't you even keep yourself clean while playing?"

Wen Zhuo: "I just became a ghost, isn't it normal that my skills aren't proficient yet? Nobody taught me, and I don't know any other ghosts!"

Wen Zhaoye paused for a moment: "...Alright, let Taoist Xie teach you."

Still standing in the hall, stunned, was the Taoist priest Xie: "..."

So that's how you guys get along!

The intelligence is so inaccurate!
