Chapter Four: Eating

Chapter Four: Eating

Chapter Four

The rain finally stopped, and some rainwater accumulated on the washed balcony, reflecting the dim morning sunlight. The pond was rippling in the wind.

Wen Zhuo sat on the edge of the balcony, her legs dangling in the air. She lifted the hem of her clothes with a look of disdain. She still thought her clothes were cooler. Her ankle-length hair was spread out on the balcony. If Wen Zhaoye saw it, he would nag her again.

Wen Zhuo propped her face up with her fingers, causing a small bulge to appear on her thin cheeks.

Last night, she had planned to hide in Wen Zhaoye's room and scare him by pretending to be a ghost after he fell asleep. But for some reason, she suddenly became sleepy and her head felt dizzy, as if she had been punched. She thought, "Never mind, I'll let Wen Zhaoye off the hook today and come back to cause trouble tomorrow!"

As I was thinking, I fell asleep, or rather, I fainted on the spot.

That's strange, do ghosts sleep too?

When she woke up, she found herself in Wen Zhaoye's room. She seemed to have little control over her body while she was asleep. After struggling to pull herself out of bed, she still didn't see Wen Zhaoye, so she wandered around playing.

Fortunately, the weather was nice today; it was a cloudy day. She didn't know if she could touch the sun on a sunny day.

"Wenzhuo——"

Wen Zhuo's ears twitched as she heard a sound, as if someone was calling her name.

"Wenzhuo, Wenzhuo?"

The voice was familiar; it was Wen Zhaoye calling her. Wen Zhuo's eyes darted around, but she remained motionless. She was harboring a mischievous thought and deliberately didn't answer, waiting for Wen Zhaoye to realize she was missing and frantically search for her.

After a long while, Wen Zhaoye finally stopped talking. Wen Zhuo's ears perked up. Wen Zhaoye seemed to have taken a few steps, but then stopped for some reason.

Wen Zhuo: "?"

I think I heard the sound of running water. Did they go to the toilet? Why would they need to go to the toilet so early in the morning? Is it because they have kidney deficiency?

Wen Zhuo began to slander.

After a while, Wen Zhuo's swaying legs stopped. She waited and waited, but didn't hear the sound she wanted. She frowned. Why hadn't he come to find her yet? Was Wen Zhaoye dead? Had he fallen into the toilet?

She thought for a moment and decided that she shouldn't rule out the latter option. She peered down and saw an upside-down head on the ceiling, with thick, black hair hanging upside down. Through the gaps, a pair of bright red eyes peeked out and rotated like a camera.

It looks extremely terrifying.

The camera, with its light on, circled around, scanning the interior of the room.

Wen Zhaoye was cooking in the kitchen, waiting for something to happen. He noticed something and suddenly looked up. He saw a dark figure emerging from the ceiling. He recognized her as Wen Zhuo. Wen Zhaoye was stunned by her appearance and didn't say anything for a moment.

Wen Zhuo's head spun around, and before he could even start examining the toilet, he saw Wen Zhaoye walking out of the kitchen wearing an apron.

Wen Zhuo: "!"

What do you mean? Are you trying to seduce her?

Okay, she accepted the test. Her hair started to flutter, and her vision suddenly broadened considerably. She frowned and stared at Wen Zhaoye, as if she were contemplating some important life matter.

Wen Zhaoye leaned casually against the table, an apron wrapped around his muscles and tied around his back, tightening his waist. The buttons on his chest weren't fastened today, making the apron a little tight, which made his pectoral muscles even more prominent, revealing his deep collarbone and the bite marks on his neck.

Wen Zhuo involuntarily moved forward a little.

Something suddenly flashed before my eyes—"click."

Wen Zhuo asked in confusion: "?" She has a fanboy too?

Wen Zhaoye expressionlessly put his phone away and waved at the ghost hanging upside down above his head: "Stop cosplaying as a vampire, come down and eat."

Wen Zhuo paused for a moment, then bared his teeth at Wen Zhaoye. He watched as Wen Zhuo's two canine teeth suddenly grew longer, making him look even more like a vampire.

Wen Zhaoye: "..."

Wen Zhuo didn't get the response she wanted and continued to hang upside down.

Why does Wen Zhaoye act like a child whose parents are annoyed that they've been home for too long? She's only been here for a day.

Wen Zhaoye glanced at her, then clapped for her with a blank expression: "Amazing, so similar."

Wen Zhuo shook her head, feeling that he wasn't being sincere enough.

Wen Zhaoye: "..."

What should I do if my child becomes even more rebellious after going out for a while?

As Wen Zhaoye's face grew darker and darker, Wen Zhuo slowly floated down and sat down on the stool with great elegance.

She glanced at the empty table, then looked towards the ingredients in the kitchen, and turned to Wen Zhaoye: "Why did you call me down? It's not ready yet."

Wen Zhaoye stood up and stood in front of Wen Zhuo, his tall figure enveloping Wen Zhuo completely.

Wen Zhuo looked up in confusion, his gaze stopping halfway down the road.

His warm breath brushed against her cheek, and a cold voice sounded in her ear: "Does it look good?"

Wen Zhuo's throat moved: "Ah, what?" Wen Zhaoye was wearing a shirt with the collar wide open under his apron. At this moment, he was bending over, and a large amount of muscle hidden under the fabric was displayed in front of her.

Wen Zhuo couldn't hear what he was saying at all.

Wen Zhaoye bent over and tilted his head to observe Wen Zhuo's expression. Her expression remained indifferent, devoid of emotion, except that her eyes were slightly wide open and her lips unconsciously parted into a slit.

"My mouth is watering."

Sigh, you lecherous devil, Wen Zhaoye chuckled inwardly, but his gaze inadvertently drifted into her lips, where her bright red tongue was hidden. He instinctively looked away.

Wen Zhuo snapped back to reality and subconsciously wiped her mouth. No, it was very dry. Realizing she had been tricked, she looked up and glared angrily at Wen Zhaoye.

Wen Zhaoye seemed to be thinking about something, and asked, "Where do you like to drink blood?"

Wen Zhuo: "?" What does this mean?

He raised his hand, a thin blade between his fingertips, the sharp edge touching his fingertip, but he didn't strike. His finger accidentally brushed against his newly scabbed bite mark. His eyes flickered, and it was unclear what he was thinking.

Wen Zhaoye didn't wait for her reply and said to himself, "I've looked at your messy place for so long, so let's go here then."

The blade flashed coldly, then slashed forcefully across her collarbone. Blood slowly oozed out under her gaze, the bright liquid emitting an enticing aroma that whetted her appetite.

Wen Zhuo: "!"

"What are you doing?!"

Wen Zhaoye slowly wiped the remaining blood off the blade with his fingers, reached out to her, turned his head to reveal the unusually conspicuous wound on his neck in her eyes, and said, "Come on, let's eat."

Wen Zhuo hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to first condemn the other party's self-harming behavior or to pounce on them and lick them a couple of times to satisfy his craving.

Wen Zhaoye seemed tired of standing, so he pulled out a stool and sat down, spreading his legs casually. His apron tightened with his movement, digging into his muscles, and the blood from his neck was about to seep into his clothes.

Wen Zhuo: "!" How could this be! Such a waste of food!

No more hesitation! Even ghosts need to eat!

A light-colored figure, leaving afterimages, pounced into Wen Zhaoye's arms. Strands of her black, messy hair flew and slapped against Wen Zhaoye's face, which he brushed away. The cool softness brought a slight pain, and the blood that flowed out was licked clean. Wen Zhuo bit his skin, grinding his two canine teeth, leaving two red marks.

As she ate his blood, she mumbled, "Delicious. Your behavior... um, I almost spilled some. It's not right."

Wen Zhaoye tilted his head slightly, his cheek brushing against Wen Zhuo's hair, making him feel a little itchy. He placed one hand on Wen Zhuo's head, covering half of her head, and rested his other hand on his leg. At first glance, most of his delicate features were obscured by the shadow, like a black shadow trapping the female ghost in his arms.

Wen Zhuo noticed the marks she had made while biting. Feeling guilty, she licked them, trying to cover them up, but the marks became even more translucent, and she failed to conceal them.

Wen Zhaoye pressed down on her head harder: "Just eat, why are you licking things like that?"

Wen Zhuo immediately licked it a few more times.

Wen Zhaoye's head was spinning: "Ugh, so you just love to go against me, don't you?"

He lifted a strand of hair that was covering Wen Zhuo's cheek and asked her, "Little Wen Zhuo, how old are you this year?"

Wen Zhuo glanced at him, puffed out her cheeks, and sucked two mouthfuls of blood. She only let go when she heard him gasp in pain. "I'm full!"

She wiped her mouth clean on Wen Zhaoye's body and sat up from him with a happy smile.

She was kneeling on Wen Zhaoye's thighs, leaning against his shoulder, but now that she's standing up, she can only rest her hands on Wen Zhaoye's chest muscles.

It's so soft, hehe.

It's okay to secretly touch my abs a little bit lower, right?

Wen Zhaoye glanced at her: "Wen Zhuo, what are you touching?"

Sigh, my typing speed is too slow.

Wen Zhuo withdrew his hand expressionlessly, straightened up, looked at Wen Zhaoye with a questioning look as if asking, "What are you talking about?", and prepared to walk through the wall.

Wen Zhaoye: "..."

The cool warmth in his arms vanished abruptly, and his fingers twitched slightly. He caught up with Wen Zhuo in a few steps and stopped him: "Your room is ready. You can sleep there tonight. Some of your things are also stored there." He pointed in a direction and then instructed, "Don't stay outside before midnight."

These are strange rules. Is she a product of Cinderella's magic? Can she only stay until midnight?

When Wen Zhuo asked him this, a faint smile appeared in his eyes, and his deep black pupils enveloped Wen Zhuo like a pool of water: "You just woke up, and your soul is not very stable. You will feel uncomfortable staying outside at night."

Unbeknownst to him, the distance between him and Wen Zhuo gradually disappeared.

He lowered his head and touched the vampire fangs that Wen Zhuo had forgotten to revert to, his fingertip was pricked and a few drops of blood leaked out.

"Open your mouth."

Before she could react, his fingers forcefully forced their way into her lips and tongue, and she swallowed the even purer blood that had just been drawn.

She looked up in surprise, biting Wen Zhaoye's finger.

Wen Zhaoye paused, but Wen Zhuo couldn't help rub against him a few times, licking his wound with the tip of her tongue. Wen Zhaoye tapped Wen Zhuo's head with his other hand and scolded, "Are you a puppy? Biting people randomly." Only then did she let go.

The wet finger was pulled out of her mouth, and she retorted, "I'm a ghost!"

Wen Zhaoye wiped the saliva from her mouth, pulled her fingers that were poking his shoulder, and put them back down: "Someone will come to check on your health today and will be back in a bit."

Wen Zhuo hesitated for a moment, then walked away, turning back every three steps.

She really didn't understand why Wen Zhaoye was doing this. She could only wander around the villa area and couldn't even leave the villa itself, so why was Wen Zhaoye acting like she was going on a long trip and would never come back?

Wen Zhuo scratched his head and simply changed direction, heading in the direction Wen Zhaoye had pointed out to him.
