Chapter Thirteen Surveillance

Chapter Thirteen

Wen Zhaoye glanced at her, his handsome face almost devoid of coldness, but rather radiating a satisfied satisfaction at the fulfillment of his desire. His slightly long black hair hung down to his forehead, and the apron straps pierced his neck, next to which lay the bite mark she had once left, which for some reason looked particularly fresh.

Wen Zhuo was puzzled; her bite wound hadn't healed yet?

She dared not approach Wen Zhaoye, not knowing what had triggered him. Wen Zhuo floated in the sky, observing him from afar.

Wen Zhaoye looked at Wen Zhuo, who was avoiding him, and frowned slightly: "Yesterday you weren't..." He seemed to have suddenly realized something, and his voice stopped abruptly. His gaze swept over Wen Zhuo again. Wen Zhuo stared blankly at him, without a trace of embarrassment on his face, and did not ask what the formation yesterday was for.

Have you forgotten again?

I must have been a fish in my past life, because I can't remember anything.

Wen Zhaoye shut his mouth and remained silent for a moment. The dark clouds that had finally dissipated around him floated above his head again, and rain began to fall lightly. He lowered his eyes, wiped the blood from his lips with his finger, glanced at Wen Zhuo again, and turned to walk into the kitchen.

Wen Zhuo: "???" What's wrong? Why are you so resentful? She scratched her head.

Wen Zhuo slowly floated in, clinging to Wen Zhaoye's back like a ghost. Wen Zhaoye was chopping ribs, and the chopping board shook violently as his cleaver fell. Wen Zhuo stared wide-eyed at the cleaver that was halfway into the chopping board.

Wen Zhu guessed that he was in a bad mood; he was fine just a moment ago. How fickle.

She shook her head, moved to the doorway, and asked him, "Wen Zhaoye, didn't we say we were going to eat? Why are you cooking by yourself?"

Wen Zhaoye turned around with the knife in his hand and saw Wen Zhuo deliberately hiding behind the door. He laughed angrily and said, "Then where do you want to drink blood?"

Wen Zhuo's eyes darted around, glancing at the kitchen knife he was still holding: "You're covered in blood, all filthy, how am I supposed to eat you?"

She smiled at Wen Zhaoye and said, "I still prefer to eat blood that is a little cleaner."

Wen Zhaoye put down the cleaver, his gaze lingering on the smile on her lips for a moment. He untied his apron and placed it aside, then put down the cleaver as well. He looked directly at her and asked again, "Which part of the blood do you want to drink?"

Seeing that he was much better, Wen Zhuo moved closer to him to study him. He didn't answer his questions, but just nudged his shoulder with his shoulder and peeked out to see Wen Zhaoye's expression.

Wen Zhaoye: "..."

His cold expression froze for a moment, and he touched her forehead with his finger, gently pushing Wen Zhu away.

"What are you doing? Don't you want to eat?"

Wen Zhuo pondered, "It seems like you don't really want to give me a drink."

Wen Zhaoye: "It seems your eyesight isn't very good."

Wen Zhuo frowned and cursed at him. After thinking for a moment, she leaned out again and looked at Wen Zhaoye's unusually pale face. She said to him, "You saved me yesterday, right? I should repay your life-saving grace. So I won't drink your blood. Consider it a way of sparing your life."

Wen Zhaoye frowned deeply, his fingers twitching as if he wanted to pick up the kitchen knife again: "What do you mean? If you don't want to drink my blood, whose blood do you want to drink?"

Wen Zhuo was surprised. Was that the point?

He gripped Wen Zhuo's wrist, his expression somber, his dark eyes reflecting only her image. He asked, "The three people who broke in the day before yesterday? Or has your memory returned, and you've remembered someone else?"

Wen Zhuo was speechless. Couldn't she just be feeling kind-hearted and couldn't stand seeing Wen Zhaoye's face turn deathly pale all day, as if she would die if she drank a few more mouthfuls of blood?

Wen Zhaoye moved closer and closer, all her resistance from a few days ago vanished, like a cold, venomous snake whispering in her ear, the shadow completely enveloping her as they drew nearer.

Wen Zhuo, impatient, kept chattering away and covered his mouth with her hand.

Wen Zhaoye, whose mouth was effectively shut up by physics: "......"

Wen Zhuo leaned half her body over him and asked in a low voice, "What's wrong with you today?"

Her face scrunched up: "What happened yesterday?"

"I only got a minor injury yesterday, I accidentally got burned, it'll be fine in a bit."

Wen Zhaoye's face showed dissatisfaction, and he shook his head.

"No? Then does that mean you knew about the cups, bowls, and bed that I secretly and accidentally broke?"

Wen Zhaoye wasn't very surprised and shook his head again.

She shook Wen Zhaoye's arm with her other hand: "Okay, this is indeed my fault. I didn't expect your furniture to be so economical."

Wen Zhaoye nodded.

After chatting like this for a while, Wen Zhuo felt something was off. She asked in confusion, "Why aren't you saying anything? Are you pretending to be mute?"

Wen Zhaoye innocently pointed to his covered mouth.

Wen Zhuo: "..."

All right.

She reluctantly withdrew her hand and cleared her throat: "Go ahead and say it."

"I just wanted to get you to have a meal, but I was hesitant and didn't know what to do."

Wen Zhuo: "??" Didn't you think my seat was a bit off? Is that where I'm supposed to eat, bro?

She was so shocked that she couldn't speak for a moment.

Wen Zhaoye simply hugged her, and Wen Zhu struggled like a puppy that had been suddenly grabbed, its limbs outstretched and claws outstretched.

Immediately afterwards, Wen Zhaoye took out a clean knife from somewhere and was about to slash his neck. How could Wen Zhu tolerate such a brutal act under her nose? She blocked the knife tip and it fell to the ground some distance away.

Wen Zhaoye looked at her without saying a word.

Wen Zhuo: "..."

Suppressing her anger, she asked Wen Zhaoye, "Don't you think your complexion has been too pale lately?"

Wen Zhaoye suddenly realized. He looked at Wen Zhuo carefully for a few seconds, a hint of a smile in his eyes. He shook his head and said, "My face has always been very pale."

Wen Zhuo: "You weren't this fair-skinned at first, stop lying."

Wen Zhaoye changed the subject, laughing, "You noticed me from the very beginning?"

This person's words are getting more and more cheesy, Wen Zhuo shuddered.

"Of course! You smell so good, I was thinking of going to find you as soon as you came out."

"I see," he said slowly, a hint of satisfaction in his eyes, but then his tone suddenly changed, "So, which part of your blood do you want to drink?"

Wen Zhuo: "?" How did we come full circle again? You absolutely have to drink this blood today, right?

She helplessly pushed Wen Zhaoye onto the table: "Fine, fine, I can do it myself."

He leaned back contentedly, his body extremely relaxed. He tilted his head back, revealing a section of his pale neck, with a few red spots and several still-present teeth marks on the side of his neck. His neck was stretched into a beautiful angle, and his Adam's apple moved slowly.

Wen Zhuo's gaze was drawn to the raised area. He pointed to it with his finger. His subordinate took a deep breath and his voice became hoarse: "Want to bite here? This is a bit troublesome."

This is really troublesome; bleeding here could be fatal.

Wen Zhuo quickly bit down hard on the spot where she used to nibble, casually sucked a little blood, and licked it a couple more times to stop the bleeding.

She didn't have time to see Wen Zhaoye's expression; after saying something to him, she turned and left.

"I'm afraid you'll die, so let's stop eating here for today. Goodbye, goodbye."

The final "goodbye" was particularly perfunctory, yet it made Wen Zhaoye lower his head and smile.

He entered the study, but instead of sitting down at his desk, he went to the innermost bookshelf, where a hidden door was located.

He familiarly manipulated a few mechanisms and strode inside.

There were no lights on in the hidden door, but he skillfully opened another door, and soft light instantly enveloped him.

Inside was a huge screen, divided into dozens of sections, so densely packed that it almost filled an entire wall. The central section was deliberately made very large, with each section displaying the situation in different corners of the villa.

Before this, there weren't that many surveillance cameras here. After Wen Zhuo was injured, the number of cameras almost doubled, completely covering the entire villa, ensuring that there would never again be a situation where Wen Zhuo was injured and he couldn't sense it in time.

Wen Zhaoye raised his hand and moved the screen with the warm glow to the center.

Inside, a semi-transparent ghost emerged, expressionless, with long, untied hair cascading down its sides, looking around curiously.

Wen Zhuo walked out of the room, passed by something emitting a red glow, and then his figure disappeared before floating back.

She stared at the camera that was brazenly placed outside, her head moving from side to side, and the camera lens followed her. She wondered to herself if this was an artificially disabled person.

She clearly remembered that there weren't such obvious cameras here before.

Wen Zhuo pondered for a while, recalling the scene where he almost died yesterday, and scratched his head, wondering if it was because of this.

Her body suddenly disappeared from the spot, and a white shadow flashed past outside the villa. A moment later, Wen Zhuo reappeared in the same spot.

Well, Wen Zhaoye really did surround the villa with a whole circle of cameras. Before, she could sneak around in the blind spots to watch some random things, but now she can't anymore. There are no blind spots in this villa.

Wen Zhuo narrowed her eyes and looked around the entire villa. Almost all the cameras were pointed directly at her. After realizing that she knew about it, the people behind it simply put it out in the open.

Wen Zhu blinked on the spot, feeling a sticky sensation from behind as if he were being stared at by some kind of ghost.

But this feeling quickly dissipated. Logically speaking, she was the ghost, so wasn't this stealing her life?

She shook her head and sighed, "That's really perverted."

When Wen Zhaoye heard her deliberately yelling at him, he started laughing again. The laughter spread into his eyes, and the corners of his eyes curved. So cute, so cute. I really want to be with her forever.

A slender, pale finger extended and touched the center of the screen, gently caressing her heart. Soon, his blood would fill this place, and they would be together forever. Even if he eventually died, his blood and his soul would linger around her, never leaving.

Countless screens enveloped him, and in the dark room, only Wen Zhuo's figure shone with pure white light. Wen Zhaoye's expression froze, the white light disappeared, and darkness enveloped his features. Wen Zhuo's figure in the center of the screen suddenly vanished.

He froze for a moment, the shadow of Wen Zhuo's injury suddenly creeping into his mind, and he almost immediately began searching for Wen Zhuo's figure in the surveillance footage.

Not here...

It's not here either...

Where is it? Where is it?!

Just as he was about to leave, Wen Zhuo rapidly approached in the surveillance footage. Wen Zhuo reappeared in all the surveillance cameras, the white light illuminating the room, her beautiful face distorted by the pressure, making her look even more adorable.

With a flick of his finger, Wen Zhaoye changed all the surveillance cameras in front of him to a single view.

Wen Zhuo surrounded him from all sides, and he sat quietly in the center of the monitor with a satisfied smile on his face.

Wen Zhuo is preparing a surprise for Wen Zhaoye!

She suddenly pressed her entire face against the camera, her intense interest fueled by the fact that she had scared Wen Zhaoye to death. But not long after she pressed her face against the camera, half of her head suddenly sank into it.

Wen Zhuo: "!!!" What's going on? Wasn't it only large screens that could be penetrated??

Oh no! We're about to get caught red-handed!
