Chapter Twenty-Four: Temple
twenty four
Wen Zhuo nodded slowly. Wen Zhaoye could see ghosts when he was a child. He used to scare her with this when she was little. He would suddenly point to a place behind her and tell her that there was a ghost there and how gruesome its death was.
Wen Zhuo was scared half to death by him. She pounced on him and punched his body, scolding him for scaring people for no reason.
She didn't know when it started, but he stopped telling Wen Zhuo about what he saw, as if he had suddenly lost that ability. Wen Zhuo asked him at first, but Wen Zhaoye brushed her off. Wen Zhuo had never been very patient, and after asking him several times without being told, she gave up.
She assumed it was because her brother had a change of heart and stopped scaring her.
She said coldly, "Stop giving me that nonsense. Just tell me, how exactly did you get me out?"
Wen Zhaoye remained unmoved: "I picked it up by the roadside."
Wen Zhuo: "..."
What is this? Is it trash or something you picked up from the roadside?
Wen Zhuo was so angry that her mind went blank. She pointed at Wen Zhaoye and gritted her teeth, saying, "You'd better keep this from me for the rest of your life."
Wen Zhaoye laughed out loud. Before anyone knew it, he had wandered over to Wen Zhuo's side again. He wrapped his body around her and sighed heavily in her ear: "What should we do? Then you'll have to be with me for the rest of your life."
Wen Zhuo was caught off guard when he was pulled into a hug, and didn't react in time.
“You are my sister, you should be with me.”
Wen Zhuo suddenly felt the atmosphere become heavy, making it hard for her to breathe and unable to straighten her back. She began to miss Wen Zhaoye, who would tell her to "get lost".
She struggled to peek out from his arms: "I want to get out now!"
She picked a fight, saying, "Don't you have to go to work? Can't you work properly and earn money to support me?"
Wen Zhaoye grabbed her by the collar, walked back to his desk, and placed her in the seat he had specially arranged next to him. While working, he casually fed her some food.
Wen Zhuo, her neck stiff and legs slouch, was forcibly dragged along until Wen Zhaoye started feeding her. Only then did she reluctantly agree to sit down, opening her mouth to receive the food she had carefully chosen.
This was the scene that Li Zhu saw when he walked in.
A woman sat next to Wen Zhaoye, her clothes inexplicably disheveled. She pointed to a pile of things on the table and ordered the people around her around her. The usually indifferent CEO Wen was feeding her something with his head down. Upon closer inspection, he noticed a smile on his lips.
The assistant thought expressionlessly, "Haha, they're probably poisoning me."
He recalled that a few days ago, Wen Zhaoye, despite being in good health, insisted on working from home and was then ordered around by a female voice.
He carefully examined the woman, confirming the fact, and handed her a document under Wen Zhaoye's increasingly sharp gaze.
Wen Zhaoye placed the documents aside, indicating that he could leave.
The assistant nodded and left the office. Just as he stepped out, he vaguely heard a light, melodious voice behind him: "Wen Zhaoye! Can you feed him properly? He's spilling all of it!"
Assistant: "......" Mr. Wen, is this your status?

The sky was covered with layers of gray clouds, and the mountains were shrouded in mist. At the foot of the mountains, there were many figures. A group of people had gathered at the foot of the mountain. The air was hot and dry, and even on a cloudy day, it felt like being in a sauna.
The assistant, still wearing a shirt and trousers, was sweating profusely and fanning himself vigorously. He was about to offer his regards to his boss when he turned around and saw Wen Zhaoye walking past him with a woman, dressed very casually, clearly not intending to go to the temple with them.
Assistant: "..." His phone suddenly vibrated, and he glanced at it.
Premier Wen: Don't worry about me.
Assistant Li: Yes, boss.
The assistant looked up again, staring at Wen Zhuo's back, and forwarded a guide to snacks at Huarong Mountain to the boss.
He nodded in satisfaction after receiving a raise from his boss.
"Hey, was that President Wen just now?" Several people noticed Wen Zhaoye's departing figure and stopped his assistant in shock.
The assistant asked in confusion, "Where is anyone?"
"It's up ahead! The same woman that President Wen took away from the lobby on the first floor last time."
"She's really beautiful."
"Yeah, yeah, although I don't know why, he seems a bit fierce..."
While they were engrossed in their conversation, the assistant turned and ran, but started panting after only a few steps.
He looked into the distance and saw that Wen Zhaoye was climbing the mountain as if it were flat ground, and he didn't even sweat much.
Wen Zhuo squeezed next to him, his arm around her, the two pressed tightly together, their steps even overlapping.
Wen Zhuo leaned against him, floating away secretly. She regretted it; she should have kept her form hidden. She thought to herself as she finished the last bite of the fried starch sausage.
Wen Zhuo stuffed the trash into Wen Zhaoye's hand, leaning half of her body against him to cover her floating feet.
Wipe your mouth clean.
Wen Zhaoye pushed away Wen Zhuo's face, which was about to brush against his clothes, and pulled out a handkerchief from somewhere to wipe her mouth.
The two, one human and one ghost, walked side by side to the top of the mountain. Wen Zhuo, with a wild fruit he had found in the grass in his mouth, stepped into the mountain.
The mountain was decorated beautifully, with red ornaments adorning the slopes. Roadside stalls lined both sides of the road, displaying adorable and exquisite souvenirs, sewn sachets, and delicate pendants.
There were also various street snacks with enticing aromas, which Wen Zhuo smelled as soon as she arrived. Her eyes lit up as she looked at Wen Zhaoye.
Wen Zhaoye closed his eyes, and there seemed to be a faint protrusion on his temples. Wen Zhuo didn't pay attention to it and began to pry open Wen Zhaoye's eyelids.
"Why are you closing your eyes? I want to eat, pay for it."
Can't you stop talking for a second?
"Isn't the point of my trip to eat? Why are you being so stingy?"
Wen Zhaoye put his arm around her shoulder to avoid someone suddenly bumping into them, and frowned: "Is this place fun? Have I been neglecting your food at home?"
Wen Zhuo nodded: "How can that be the same? You don't let me eat this kind of junk food at home. You have no idea what the deliciousness of junk food is. It's because it's junk."
Wen Zhaoye ignored her nonsense, forcefully pulled Wen Zhuo aside, and looked at the temple in front of him: "Will you feel uncomfortable if you get close to it?"
Wen Zhuo was still looking at the stalls in the distance when Wen Zhaoye forcibly turned his head back and asked him again with suppressed patience.
Wen Zhuo tentatively approached, reaching out her hand to test the way, but Wen Zhaoye pressed her hand down, saying, "Be careful."
Wen Zhuo: "I was being very careful!"
"Hey, Wen Zhaoye? What brings you here?" A man walked out of the temple, his silver hair gleaming in the light, a smile playing on his lips.
Wen Zhaoye glanced at him: "What are you doing in the temple, you Taoist priest? Thinking of changing professions?"
Xie Huai: "......"
His expression twisted for a moment, then he turned to Wen Zhuo, who was staring at him curiously, and said, "Your brother would be better off keeping his mouth shut."
Wen Zhuo nodded in deep agreement.
The group entered the temple together, and Xie Huai acted as a tour guide, explaining the famous buildings and wishing spots inside. Wen Zhuo rushed over after listening, and Wen Zhaoye couldn't stop her. He glanced impatiently at Xie Huai, who had a mocking expression on his face.
"You did this on purpose?" As if he had thought of a certain possibility, his face darkened. "You know I can't live without Wen Zhuo."
Xie Huai chuckled and said calmly, "How could that be? I went to so much trouble to save her, I wouldn't just stand by and watch something happen to her."
"On the contrary, you should let her stay by herself."
