Chapter 54054 Fu Ci is missing
When Fu Ci woke up, it was already bright outside.
Du Qingtang washed up with his back to her. Perhaps he heard the hook on the bed curtains snap, and without turning around, he said, "You had a stomachache last night and didn't sleep well. Luckily, you don't have classes this morning, so I'll let you sleep a little longer."
She went out for morning reading and exercise alone and just came back now.
During morning reading, she met Professor Wen again, who tested her.
"It doesn't hurt now." Fu Ci rubbed his eyes, got up and got dressed.
On the contrary, I cried for too long last night, so my eyes are not feeling well and my vision is a little blurry.
Fu Ci wanted to rub it again, but Du Qingtang stopped him and handed him a towel: "Don't rub it, it's already swollen. Apply a cold compress first."
Fu Ci did as he was told and soaked the towel in cold water, which felt cool and comfortable.
Her eyes wandered, not daring to meet Du Qingtang's gaze. Her voice was barely audible, "I haven't been home for a long time. I missed my parents, and I happened to be feeling unwell, so I couldn't help crying."
This excuse was too heartless, but Du Qingtang did not expose it. Instead, he said considerately: "Then go home and visit, it will ease your homesickness."
Fu Ci did have this plan.
She had never thought about having her period, so she had never prepared a menstrual belt, let alone sewed one.
She urgently needed to go home and ask her mother to teach her what to do.
Fu Ci thought for a moment and said, "Then I'll go back today. I'll have to ask Qingtang for leave from the teacher for me this afternoon."
Du Qingtang readily agreed: "I got caught in the rain yesterday and caught a cold, which is why I have a stomachache. I can make a bowl of ginger soup when I get home to drive away the cold."
Fu Ci deeply agreed. She was already cold, and getting caught in the rain naturally made it worse.
She looked at her friend who was concerned about her with an expressionless face, and her heart softened and warmed: "Okay, I'll remember that."
After washing up, Du Qingtang went to have breakfast and brought two buns for Fu Ci.
Fu Ci ate the buns with warm water, said goodbye to his friends, and set out on the journey back to the village.
Passing by Du Ji Snacks, she did not forget to tell Du Qingmei that she could not come to do chores in the afternoon.
Du Qingmei saw that she looked unhappy and said a few words of concern.
"I caught a cold, but it will be fine in two days. Fifth sister, I'm leaving first."
Du Qingmei watched Fu Ci leave and continued to work.
Fu Ci's stomachache was gone, but he still felt a little uncomfortable. The journey that should have taken him half an hour took him another quarter of an hour.
At this time, the villagers were all working in the fields, the sound of reading could be heard from the village school, and only the little children were playing in the village.
Fu Ci walked into the house unhindered. His father was nowhere to be seen. Only his mother was weaving bamboo baskets in the yard.
Hearing footsteps, she thought it was a neighbor visiting. Mother Fu smiled and looked up, but when she saw who it was, her face darkened. "Why are you back? Did you get into trouble at the academy and get sent back?"
After walking all the way, Fu Ci was already exhausted and even felt tired just breathing.
Fu's mother's words hit her hard, and she felt mixed emotions.
Am I, in your eyes, a bad daughter who only knows how to stir up trouble?
Perhaps because he had accumulated enough disappointments, Fu Ci suddenly felt bored.
Even if she asked this question, she would only get a more hurtful answer. Why bother making herself unhappy?
Fu Ci walked closer despite Fu's mother's displeased look and whispered, "Mom, I'm having my period."
Mother Fu raised her eyebrows and looked outside the door vigilantly. She didn't care that Fu Ci looked pale, grabbed her arm, pulled her into the house, and peppered her with questioning words.
"Was there anyone around when you had your period?"
"Has anyone noticed you're having your period?"
"What's the family situation of the person you live with?"
Fu Ci shook his head and said, "No one noticed... What does my period have to do with the other person's family background?"
Fu's mother said as a matter of course: "If you are discovered, just marry him. If his family is rich, we can get a dowry..."
Fu Ci didn't want to talk. She was going there to study, not to get married.
Fu Ci took a deep breath and interrupted his mother's chatter: "Mom, please teach me how to make a menstrual belt. I have to go back this afternoon."
"Tsk, what bad luck." Mother Fu curled her lips and turned to look for needle and thread.
Fu Ci didn't even have time to eat lunch. He hurriedly sewed a few sanitary belts, hid them close to his body, and hurried back to the academy.
When Fu's father came back from the fields, he learned from Fu's mother that Fu Ci had her period. He sat on the doorstep, smoking a pipe, and after a while he said, "Sister Ci has grown up and can have children."
Mother Fu's expression changed several times, and she clenched the vegetable leaves in her hand into a ball. "What about Wen'er? He's obsessed with becoming an official, but his health is not good, so how can he take the imperial examination?"
I’m afraid I’ll collapse in the examination room before I even finish an exam.
Father Fu tapped his pipe and said, "Don't think I don't know. His health has improved a lot in the past two years. It's pointless to pretend too many times."
Mother Fu looked embarrassed and muttered, "Brother Wen is also afraid that Sister Ci will become too powerful..."
Father Fu snorted coldly, his dark face showing no emotion: "It's settled. When we find a good day, we'll let them exchange them back."
Mother Fu glanced at Father Fu, a complex and unwilling look flashed in her eyes. Thousands of words were pent up in her heart, and finally turned into a "OK".
......
When Fu Ci returned to the dormitory, Du Qingtang was still in class.
While she was still here, Fu Ci took a bath and put on some talcum powder to prevent the fabric from being blocked and causing prickly heat.
Just as I got dressed, there was a knock on the door.
It’s time for Du Qingtang to finish class.
Fu Ci opened the door, and Du Qingtang looked at her intently for a few seconds, and her expression became much better.
So the two of them went to eat together. After returning, Fu Ci copied the class notes, and Du Qingtang concentrated on completing the homework until midnight when he stopped writing and washed up.
Before falling asleep, Du Qingtang suggested: "You don't have to go to the shop these few days. Go after you have a good rest."
Fu Ci agreed.
Anyway, she was paid daily, and she really didn't have the energy to do odd jobs so as not to cause trouble for the Du sisters.
-
Six days later, Fu Ci returned to Du Ji Snacks.
The girls felt sorry for her when they saw how much thinner she had become, and they gave her special treatment for several days.
Fu Ci was deeply moved and worked even harder.
In late July, we had a break after the midterm exams.
Fu Ci did not return to the village, so Du Qingtang invited her to go to the courtyard together.
Fu Ci smiled and declined: "No, I want to take advantage of these two days to practice more eight-legged essays."
Du Qingtang no longer insisted and left the academy alone.
When Du Qingtang saw Cao Xingcan at the entrance of the academy, he suddenly had an idea and chased after him: "Brother Cao, please stay!"
Upon hearing this, Cao Xingcan turned around and after seeing who it was, he thought he had misheard.
Brother Cao?
Could it be that Du Qingtang is possessed by some evil creature?
Cao Xingcan was complaining in his heart, but he didn't show it on his face: "Is there something wrong?"
"I would like to ask Brother Cao to help me find two books." Du Qingtang reported the titles of the books.
Cao Xingcan's teeth ached at her words, and his expression was subtle: "I've made a note of it. I'll send someone to look for it later."
Du Qingtang bowed and said, "Thank you, Brother Cao."
Cao Xingcan's lips moved, but he couldn't utter "Brother Du". "Don't do this, I'm scared."
Du Qingtang: “…”
Du Qingtang turned and left.
Cao Xingcan looked at her back, a smile flashing in his eyes.
Du Qingtang came to the shop, and Du Qingzhu took her to the kitchen: "I have come up with two new products, Tang Ge'er, please help me taste them."
Du Qingtang took the chopsticks and savored the food carefully. Du Qingzhu looked at her expectantly, then suddenly slapped her forehead and said, "Look at my memory! Tang'er, someone delivered a letter to our house yesterday evening. It said 'From Mr. Du personally'. Fifth Sister has left it on your bed. Remember to read it when you get home."
A letter from Mr. Du himself?
Could it be a letter from a partner in a business she invested in?
Du Qingtang quickly ruled out this possibility. The account books were delivered by a special person at the end of the month. If he had anything to say, he could just ask the other party to convey it directly. There was no need to waste time writing a letter.
Du Qingtang's thoughts raced, but he didn't show it on his face: "I understand. Let's talk about it when we get home tonight. Your noodles are a bit bland, and diners generally have stronger tastes..."
Du Qingzhu listened carefully to the suggestion and waved his hand at the end: "Okay, I'll make some changes. I'm not too busy today, so you don't need to work. Go rest next door for a while."
Du Qingtang saw her busy and sweaty, her skin, which had become much whiter after not doing farm work, reddened by the heat from the kitchen. He said slowly, "Let's see if there's a suitable cook later. You can relax a little."
She was not worried about the chef leaking the recipes of powder and sauce, as she just needed to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Once leaked, the cost will be something the other party cannot afford.
Du Qingzhu shook her head, smiling: "I know you are doing this for our own good, but there is really no need. The four of us plus Awen can definitely handle it, not to mention..."
She looked towards the stove, her nostrils filled with fragrant aroma: "Tang Ge'er, you know, I like cooking."
Of course Du Qingtang knew.
When she was in Taoyuan Village, Du Qingzhu always rushed to cook.
Now that he has come to the county town and opened Du Ji Snacks, Du Qingzhu has taken charge of almost all the work in the kitchen.
Of course, this specifically refers to the cooking work between the stoves, and the four girls prepare the ingredients together.
Du Qingtang thought of the article "My Dream". Apart from reading and writing, Du Qingzhu's only two dreams were to cook.
Du Qingzhu said that she really enjoys the process of cooking delicious dishes, feeling the changes in the ingredients through her hands, and hearing diners praise her cooking skills, which makes her feel extremely proud and satisfied.
"If possible, I would like to own a restaurant with the signboard name written by myself and the new dishes written by me on a wooden sign, hung where diners can see it."
"Everyone will know that the owner of the restaurant is not only a good cook, but also well-read and has a beautiful handwriting. She is an amazing talent, no worse than those stinky men."
“This is my dream.”
......
"It's too hot in the kitchen, Tang'er, please get out. Your hair is all wet."
Du Qingzhu's concerned words brought Du Qingtang back to reality from her memories. She raised her hand to touch her hair, her fingertips were wet with beads of sweat.
Du Qingtang went to the next room, took out the test poem book from his book bag, and started writing at his desk.
Du Qingzhu is working hard for her dream. As their teacher, she should set an example for them by leading by example.
There is only one year left before the college entrance examination, and she will face very fierce competition from candidates from all over Baoding Prefecture.
She must not slack off.
She has to win.
An hour passed in a flash, Du Ji Snacks closed, and the girls went home facing the sunset.
As they walked into the house, Du Qingmei mentioned the letter from an unknown source: "Tang'er, that letter is next to your pillow, remember to read it."
Du Qingtang responded, took down his schoolbag and hung it on a nail on the wall, washed his hands first, and then went to the west room.
It was a very ordinary envelope, and the words "Qinweng from Mr. Du" on the envelope were written in very ordinary handwriting, which could even be called sloppy.
Du Qingtang squeezed the envelope and felt something hard that was a bit rough.
In the candlelight, the outline vaguely looks like a key.
Du Qingtang opened the envelope and found a key and a letter.
The letter was very short, only a few lines, and there was no name in the signature, but Du Qingtang could tell at a glance who the letter was from.
Mu Tingyu.
From the letter, Du Qingtang learned that Mu Tingyu had already left Xiajing with his daughter. He did not mention where they were going and stated his intentions directly.
"The treasures of the previous dynasty are fake, but Wanbao Villa contains endless treasures accumulated over a century. Master Du has reunited me and my daughter. I am deeply grateful and would like to give them to Master Du."
The treasure of Wanbao Villa?
Give it to her?
Du Qingtang raised his eyebrows slightly, this was an unexpected surprise.
But the letter didn’t mention where the treasure was hidden…wait!
Du Qingtang placed the letter paper above the candle flame to heat it for a while, and a line of tiny handwriting came into view.
It was actually a string of addresses, and it happened to be in Baoding Prefecture.
Du Qingtang wrote down the address, burned the letter on the spot, hid the key in an absolutely safe place, then extinguished the oil lamp and walked out of the west room.
Du Qingju was preparing her brush, ink, paper, and inkstone. Seeing Du Qingtang coming over, she casually asked, "Is this a letter from Tang'er's friend?"
Du Qingtang evaded the point and said, "He's not a friend. I helped him once before, and he wrote to me to thank me."
She didn't intend to tell the girls that she had just gained a fortune.
It's not out of distrust, but out of protection.
Wanbao Villa has long become a thing of the past. People only know about the imaginary treasures of the previous dynasty, but are unaware of the treasures of Wanbao Villa itself.
Once it becomes known, it will cause countless troubles.
Du Qingtang had no intention of using them. With Du's snacks and profits from various investments, the Du family had enough food and drink to live comfortably and could also save some money.
But this is not the main reason.
Du Qingtang and Mu Tingyu each got what they wanted. She reunited Mu Tingyu's parents, and Mu Tingyu killed Qi Heming for her.
From then on, the two were clear and had no more contact.
Unexpectedly, three months later, Du Qingtang received a letter from Mu Tingyu, who also gave him such a valuable thank-you gift.
Du Qingtang felt that she was unworthy of receiving it, and if she had the chance to see it again in the future, she would definitely return it to its original owner.
"It's time to eat!"
Du Qinglan shouted in the kitchen, and the food was served. After the five sisters had eaten and drunk their fill, they began today's teaching.
Du Qingtang opened the book and said in a calm voice, "We finished studying the Three Character Classic the day before yesterday. You should write a review and hand it in in five days. Today we will start studying the Thousand Character Classic."
Following "My Dream", the girls have their second article.
“How many words do you want to write?”
"A review? An impromptu one?"
Du Qingtang said succinctly: "No less than 300 words. The so-called reading experience is the feelings and inspirations gained from the book. Do you understand?"
"clear!"
The girls nodded rapidly, picked up their pens and dipped them in ink, and took notes while listening to Teacher Du's lecture.
After practicing for two weeks according to the calligraphy model of the calligrapher, the girls' calligraphy improved significantly. At least in Du Qingtang's opinion, some students in the class were not as good as them.
After half an hour, the teaching ended.
Du Qingtang closed the book and said, "I won't practice calligraphy tonight. First, copy the passages I talked about in the Thousand Character Classic and memorize them well."
The girls nodded in agreement and began to copy the books, while Du Qingtang went to the other side to continue working on the test poetry book.
-
In late August, the final exams were over, and the next day was Du Qingmei and Du Qinglan’s seventeenth birthday.
The day before, Du Qingtang handed in his paper early, and when he came out, he found that Cao Xingcan from next door had also come out.
Cao Xingcan called her: "Du Qingtang, I have found your book. Come with me to get it."
Du Qingtang followed him to Cao's residence and bowed after receiving the book: "Thank you very much."
Cao Xingcan groaned, biting his tongue and asking, pointing at the book in Du Qingtang's hand, written by a famous female poet from the previous dynasty, "What are you looking for?"
Of course, it is a birthday gift prepared for Du Qingmei and Du Qinglan.
On the night of the Qixi Lantern Festival, Du Qingmei and Du Qinglan suddenly realized something and simultaneously set the lofty ambition of becoming famous female teachers. Just like Du Qingtang had guided them, they wanted to guide the girls to learn to read and write and become better people.
When they came up with this idea, they had already anticipated that this road was bound to be bumpy.
But they still resolutely wrote this dream on paper.
In order to encourage them, Du Qingtang asked Cao Xingcan to find these two books.
This female poet was born in the last years of the previous dynasty. She was famous for her strong character and unrestrained style. She single-handedly stirred up a bloody storm in the poetry world of that time.
It’s a pity that her works were lost in the war. Given Du Qingtang’s current status and position, it would be extremely difficult to find them.
But for Cao Xingcan, even though the outside world spread rumors that Cao Xingcan was not worthy of his reputation and had long been abandoned by the Cao family, as long as he opened his mouth, there would be people rushing to work for him.
Faced with Cao Xingcan's question, Du Qingtang just smiled, and after returning to the courtyard, he handed the two books to Du Qingmei and Du Qinglan.
The two girls received their favorite birthday gifts and they couldn't let them go, with smiles on their faces.
"Thank you, Brother Tang. I will definitely read it carefully!"
Du Qingtang was very pleased: "If you have any questions, just ask me directly."
"good!"
On her birthday, Du Qingqin came to the city from Xiaoxi Village.
"My sister-in-law sent me two pieces of pink floral cloth a while ago. Sister Rou and the maids from the second and third rooms made new clothes for them. I made two skirts for you with the rest. Try them on quickly. If they don't fit, I'll make some alterations."
Du Qingqin took out skirts from her bag, handed them to her two sisters, and urged them to go into the house to change.
Du Qingmei touched the soft fabric and felt a little uneasy: "Sister, you make clothes for me, your mother-in-law and sisters-in-law..."
Before she could finish her words, Du Qingqin interrupted her with a wave of her hand: "During the New Year, Tang'er gave me some snack recipes. We've made a lot of money these past few months, and now Tang'er has become a student. How dare they say anything? They're afraid that if I get upset, I'll stop them from setting up stalls and then come back to complain to Tang'er."
The two girls were relieved.
Du Qinglan sighed: "With Tang Ge'er here, I have the confidence to do anything."
Du Qingmei agreed: "That's right."
They went to the east room to change their clothes. They fit them perfectly and the pink color set off their skin, making them look even more charming standing in the sun.
Du Qingqin exclaimed that she was beautiful and teased, "I wonder which boy will get the chance."
"Sister!" Du Qingmei's cheeks flushed.
"Marriage is common, why should we be ashamed?" Du Qingqin looked at Du Qingtang, who was preparing for class. "Tang'er, are there any unmarried men in the academy who are around the same age as your fifth and sixth sisters and have good character?"
Du Qingtang paused and said, "Sister, it's too early to talk about marriage now. Let's talk about it next year."
Du Qingqin frowned, "Why next year? During the New Year, you said that by the time you passed the exam, your fifth and sixth sisters would be seventeen. If you stayed, you would be old maids."
"She's only eighteen, in the prime of her youth. How can she be considered an old maid?" Du Qingtang disagreed. "Besides, I read in a book that it's not advisable for women to have children too early. The best time is to be over eighteen."
Du Qingqin had never heard of this before and was skeptical: "Really? Don't lie to me."
Du Qingtang said seriously, "Why would I lie to you? Just look at you, elder sister. Is your health not as good as before after giving birth to Roujie?"
Du Qingqin thought about it carefully and realized that it was true.
She had lived in her mother's home for more than ten years without even a minor illness. But since she gave birth to Rou Jie'er, she would suffer from a minor illness every year when the seasons changed, either a cold or back pain.
Du Qingtang made the final decision: "This is the sequelae of premature childbirth."
Du Qingmei's face turned pale: "Sister, I'd better wait another year."
Du Qinglan said loudly: "Me too!"
Although they look forward to marriage and the character and appearance of their future husbands, their bodies are their capital and they must not lose sight of the big picture.
Du Qingqin saw her sister's fear and sighed: "Forget it, I'll do as you say."
The two girls then turned their worries into joy.
Du Qingqin had lunch in the courtyard and prepared to go back.
Du Qingmei went to the kitchen to pick up some food and asked her to take it back for Rou Jieer to try.
Du Qingtang went to the west room and came out quickly: "Big sister, this is for you."
"What is this?" Du Qingqin took a look and exclaimed, "Contract?!"
She could not read or write, but she knew what a deed looked like.
Why did Tangger give her the deed?
What kind of contract is this?
"This is the deed to a shop on Qingshui Street," Du Qingtang explained. "When you got married, I wasn't able to prepare a dowry for you. Consider this a belated dowry."
Du Qingtang looked at the four unmarried girls who were attracted by the exclamations and promised: "When you get married, I will also prepare dowries for you."
She would not persuade them to remain single.
It was their choice to get married or not, and she would respect their decision.
The only thing she could do was to encourage them to read more and learn more, become wise and sensible, and not be deceived by men's sweet words and ruin their lives.
Du Qingtang stared at Du Qingqin and said, "You can do whatever business you want with this shop, but there is one prerequisite: it can only belong to you, Du Qingqin."
"It's natural."
Du Qingqin's eyes were red and sparkling with tears, and she walked away looking back every few steps.
......
Summer goes and autumn comes, and the golden wind brings coolness.
Huimin Medical Clinic sent 80 taels of dividends earned from selling talcum powder over the summer. The apprentice of the clinic who came to donate the money also presented a generous gift and conveyed the request to continue cooperation next year.
If you don’t make money even if you have it, you’re a bastard. Du Qingtang readily agreed.
After the apprentice left, Du Qingtang opened the brocade box and found a fifty-year-old ginseng.
"Ah! It's ginseng!" Du Qingju exclaimed, counting on her fingers and muttering, "Ginseng can be combined with astragalus, white atractylodes, and poria..."
Du Qingtang heard her name a string of medicinal herbs and raised his eyebrows slightly: "Where did you learn that from?"
Du Qingju smiled and said, "A while ago, a peddler came to the alley. He was selling old books, and among them was a medical book. I bought it with my own money."
Du Qingtang: "How much have you seen?"
Du Qingju: "I'm usually busy, I haven't read a few pages yet."
Du Qingtang closed the brocade box: "Do you like it?"
Du Qingju nodded: "I like it very much."
I still remember that when she was a child, she caught a cold and her elder sister was taken to Doctor Sun's house overnight.
Du Qingju was so feverish that she was confused, but she remembered the smell of medicine on Doctor Sun's body. After she recovered, every time Doctor Sun came to Taoyuan T Village, she would run after him, sniffing the smell.
The smell intoxicated her, and as she grew older, her obsession with medicinal herbs became a secret she could not reveal.
Because the Du family is poor.
Because she is a woman.
It was not until this year that Du Qingtang taught them to read and write.
The desire that had been suppressed for many years quietly emerged, and the restlessness in her heart made her both excited and nervous.
How should she choose?
Let it be a secret forever, or be brave this time?
Finally, on the night after the Qixi Lantern Festival, the seedlings of dreams broke through the soil and grew into towering trees in an instant.
She carefully expressed her long-held wish in the form of words.
Afterwards, he bought a tattered medical book without permission and read it at home obsessed with it.
She really liked this feeling, wanton and satisfying.
"Keep reading." Du Qingtang stood up with the brocade box. "Studying medicine is a hard job. If you can persevere..."
What will happen if I persist?
Du Qingtang didn't say anything, and Du Qingju didn't ask either. They just squeezed out time from their busy schedules to read the medical book haltingly.
This happens every day without a break.
-
In October, Du Qingqin came to the Du family courtyard again.
"I've discussed this with your brother-in-law, and we're planning to use that shop to do fur business. Your brother-in-law has been hunting for years and knows a lot of fur collectors. When the time comes, we can sell the furs we collect in our shop."
Du Qingtang had no objection: "Sister, you always have a plan for what you do, just go ahead and do it."
Du Qingqin continued, "Your brother-in-law knew that you gave him the shop, so he offered to give you half of the money he made."
Worried that Du Qingtang would refuse, Du Qingqin quickly said, "Setting up a stall won't make much more money than running a shop. With your support, the second and third brothers won't dare to set their sights on the shop."
Du Qingtang didn't mind Du Qingqin using her to intimidate her sister-in-law, so she nodded in agreement.
As autumn turned to winter, Du Qingqin's fur shop officially opened before the weather turned cold.
Du Qingtang took a look and found that perhaps it was a good time, as the fur shop's business was unexpectedly good.
In this way, she could devote herself to studying and preparing for the exam with peace of mind.
......
In the blink of an eye, it was the end of November.
After the quiz, Fu Ci planned to go back to the village.
The last time she returned to the village was in July, the day her period started. If she didn't go back, the villagers would probably think she had died outside.
Her parents would also think that she has grown up and might even come to the academy to take her back.
Fu Ci packed his luggage and said, "Qingtang, I'm leaving first. See you the day after tomorrow!"
Du Qingtang waved his hand, stuffed his spare clothes and exercise book into his school bag, and returned to the courtyard.
The courtyard was empty, and the girls were still busy at Du Ji Snacks.
Du Qingtang took a sip of water and started preparing for class.
I finished teaching them "Thousand Character Classic" a few days ago, and it's time to let them get in touch with the Four Books and Five Classics.
Let’s start with the shortest one, “The Great Learning”.
Two days passed in a flash. That morning, Du Qingtang assigned the homework of reviewing "Thousand Character Classic" and hurried to the academy.
When we arrived at the academy, it was just dawn.
Yao Xuan, wearing a brown short shirt, trotted past the statue of Confucius.
Du Qingtang stopped and saluted: "Greetings, Professor."
Yao Xuan finally tasted the bitterness of shooting himself in the foot. He agreed with mixed feelings and left quickly.
Du Qingtang arrived at the dormitory, but Fu Ci had not arrived yet.
There was still more than half an hour before class started. Du Qingtang first cleaned the dormitory, and then sat down to read aloud.
Not long after, the sound of unfamiliar footsteps came from afar.
With a creak, the dormitory door was pushed open.
Du Qingtang thought it was a student who didn't know how to knock on the door, but when he turned around, he found that the person coming was Fu Ci.
No!
wrong!
Not Fu Ci!
Although Fu Ci was thin, his face became rounder and rosy after being fed by Du Qingtang and the girls of the Du family.
Looking at the person in front of him, although he was as thin as Fu Ci, his face was so pale that there was not a trace of blood, as if he was a tuberculosis patient who had been ill for a long time.
Du Qingtang stared at him intently, until the other person felt uneasy and even thought that he had walked into the wrong dormitory.
"Awen, you're here."
Fu Wen breathed a sigh of relief and strode inside: "Well, here I come."
Du Qingtang turned back and looked at the book: "Awen, let's go to the teahouse we usually go to at noon today."
Fu Wen didn't think twice: "Okay."
Du Qingtang's eyes suddenly turned cold.
She and Fu Ci had never been to a teahouse!
