Chapter 9 Throwing Qi Huaiyu's things out

Yesterday, he felt very embarrassed for not being able to get his deceased mother's belongings for Xue Yingxue. Fearing that Xue Yingxue would be sad, he agreed to take her out to buy some cosmetics.

But after half a day of shopping, Xue Yingxue still looked somewhat worried.

"But there's nothing you like?" Qi Huaiyu asked considerately.

Xue Yingxue sighed, "You know me, I don't care about these worldly things. It's nothing, I just feel guilty towards my mother."

“Xin Jiuwei took what was yours by force only because of her prominent family background. You don’t need to blame yourself,” Qi Huaiyu said. “It’s my fault. I treated you like an ordinary woman and thought that rouge could make you happy.”

After a moment's thought, both not wanting to see Xue Yingxue harmed and wanting to regain the face he had lost yesterday, he said:

"Yingxue, don't worry, I will take you to the treasure appraisal event that we talked about a few days ago."

"Really?" Xue Yingxue's eyes flickered. "That treasure appraisal event gathers all the prominent families in Yingzhou, and it requires invitations. How can I possibly attend?"

Qi Huaiyu was secretly pleased, but smiled modestly on the surface, "With my calling card, it's not difficult to get into these occasions. Is there any family in Yingzhou that can surpass the Xin family?"

Xue Yingxue smiled and nodded, "Huaiyu still has a way."

Qi Huaiyu was in a good mood and led Xue Yingxue into a shop selling stationery.

After a long selection process, Xue Yingxue chose a piece of ink that was quite valuable.

“If Yingxue likes it, then wrap it up.” Qi Huaiyu said with an elegant demeanor. “With Yingxue’s beautiful handwriting, it should be paired with good ink.”

Xue Yingxue nodded slightly, revealing a reserved smile.

Qi Huaiyu took the ink packaged by the shopkeeper as usual, "The usual rule, just put it on my tab."

But then the shopkeeper asked, "Is this being charged to Young Master Qi's account? When will you come to pay the debt?"

Qi Huaiyu frowned and looked at the shopkeeper with an innocent look, "Of course, just hang it up the way it always has been."

"I'm sorry, Young Master Qi," the shopkeeper said with a gentle smile, "the Xin family has sent someone to instruct that your expenses cannot be charged to the Xin family's account."
