Chapter 51 Cousin Huaihe

The clouds on the horizon were as fiery and dazzling, turning Xin Jiuwei's hair into a hazy red.

As soon as the carriage stopped, the sound of hooves came from afar, and a young man in black rode up and stopped by the carriage window.

"Is that Awei in the car?"

The young man's voice was somewhat deep, but not muddy, and carried a bright and spirited quality.

Wang Qing lifted the carriage curtain, and Xin Jiuwei looked out and saw a face as handsome as jade.

"Cousin Huaihe," she smiled sweetly, "It's been a long time."

Qi Huaihe also smiled. He looked a year or two older than Xin Xiyao. His features were somewhat cold, but his smile was warm.

"I'm so glad I found you. My grandfather told me to make sure you were taken home safely."

Xin Jiuwei said, "Thank you for your hard work, Grandfather and Cousin."

Qi Huaihe pulled on the reins. "Then hurry inside. Your grandfather, mother, and aunts are all waiting for you to come back for dinner."

Xin Jiuwei was somewhat surprised and was about to speak when she saw Qi Huaiyu get out of the car and walk over in a hurry.

"Is this Brother Huaihe?" Qi Huaiyu revealed his gentle and refined smile again. "Greetings, cousin. I am truly sorry to have troubled you to come and greet me."

Qi Huaihe frowned slightly, looking down at Qi Huaiyu from his horse, as if only then remembering who he was.

He glanced at Xin Jiuwei, only to see that she had a calm expression. He then noticed that the two of them were not riding in the same car, and he began to make a decision.

"I'm here to pick up Awei, what's wrong with you?" Qi Huaihe said coldly, then turned his head and softened his tone, personally lowering the carriage curtain for Xin Jiuwei. "Sister, please rest in the carriage, we'll be home soon."

Xin Jiuwei nodded, feeling the carriage start moving again, and the caravan entered the city under Qi Huaihe's leadership.

Qi Huaiyu's voice could no longer be heard, and he slunk back to his car.

Coincidentally, Qi Huaiyu not only shares the same surname as his maternal grandfather, but his name also sounds somewhat similar to his cousin's.

Feng was illiterate and it's a mystery how she came up with the name Qi Huaiyu.

Lost in thought, the carriage gradually came to a stop.

Qi Huaiyu hurried over, intending to stand next to Xin Jiuwei. After all, he had come as the future son-in-law and couldn't follow behind like a servant.

But Qi Huaihe had already dismounted and, without the help of his servants, personally helped Xin Jiuwei down from the carriage.
