Little Sweethearts 10
When I was a child, I would occasionally have strange fantasies in my mind when walking alone on a quiet road. For example, I would wonder if ghosts really existed in the world, and if there would be any bad guys following me.
Humans are essentially just animals, and as a self-protection mechanism, our subconscious mind always magnifies the dangers in the outside world. This seems to be a reaction engraved in our genes.
In fact, there were no bad guys following Jiang Qixin, nor were there any ghosts chasing her.
But she always easily imagined some bad pictures and scenes. She subconsciously called out Xu Cheng'an's name, but the only response Jiang Qixin got was the quiet air. She looked at the room that was illuminated by the lights, which was quiet and deserted.
Why did she have such a fantasy, imagining that Xu Chengan would appear by her side? He was a man who was so stingy that he even sent her a dream.
There is a saying that if a deceased loved one never appears in your dreams, it means that he or she is always by your side protecting you.
Jiang Qixin frowned and chuckled. She had naively believed this statement before.
But in fact, she seems to have never encountered any real supernatural events since she was a child. If ghosts and gods really exist in the world, then an ordinary person like her probably won't be able to see them.
After all, the world has to maintain its logic, so why should she be the one to find a hole in the world?
Jiang Qixin lowered her head to change her shoes, then fell on the sofa in the living room and looked at the flashing chandelier.
When she closed her eyes, there were still bright spots reflected in them, and she sighed deeply.
I'm so tired. I really want to fall asleep completely and never wake up again.
Jiang Qixin closed her eyes, but even though she was thinking this, she still got up and prepared to wash up.
Xu Cheng'an listened to the sound of her washing up through the bathroom door. She had vague memories of her dreams over the past two days. If he tried harder, could he make her remember the complete dream?
After taking a shower, Jiang Qixin felt much better. He walked back to his room humming a song. Like every night before, he checked his phone and fell asleep when it was time to rest.
It wasn't until midnight that she began to dream.
Xu Cheng'an felt a little excited, but also a little uneasy. He was a little worried about Jiang Qixin's mental state. He came here just to protect her and let her live a healthy life.
Instead of creating trouble for her out of thin air.
He leaned over and kissed her brow bone, his lower lip sensitive to the movement of her eyeballs.
Soon, Xu Cheng'an entered her dream again, and this time her dream was about her college years.
Xu Cheng'an looked down at the time on his watch. Jiang Qixin was teaching in the classroom with three minutes left. This was the last class in the afternoon, and the teacher had finished the course schedule ahead of time and ended the get out of class early.
The sound of desks being cleared and chairs colliding could be heard from the lecture hall. The students who were quick in clearing up had already walked down the stairs with their bags.
Jiang Qixin saw Xu Chengan through the window, and she raised her hand and waved to him.
They had never experienced separation in the true sense since they were young. Except for the two years when Jiang Qixin was in high school and Xu Cheng'an was in college, when they did not stay together every day, their life trajectories were fortunately arranged on the same line for the rest of the time.
Xu Cheng'an took the bag from her hand. The bag only contained a portable computer and was very light, but he still had the habit of helping her hold the things in her hands.
Jiang Qixin held Xu Cheng'an's arm. Tomorrow was the weekend, and she would go directly to the apartment Xu Cheng'an rented near the school.
"What are we having for dinner tonight?"
Xu Cheng'an was stunned for a moment. He hadn't cooked for her for a long time. Every time, he could only watch her busy in the kitchen. According to incomplete statistics, Jiang Qixin had forgotten to turn off the natural gas no less than five times, burnt the meat countless times, and accidentally cut her hand twice.
"Is there anything you particularly want to eat?" He paused, "I can make it for you."
"There's nothing special you want to eat, just a few simple stir-fried dishes will be fine." Jiang Qixin rolled her eyes and thought carefully. When asked what she wanted to eat for a moment, she really couldn't think of anything.
Xu Cheng'an nodded. Just as he was still thinking about making Jiang Qixin some of her favorite dishes, the scene in his dream suddenly changed. Jiang Qixin's dream tonight was very unstable, and he could feel it. His energy had been weakening recently, making it increasingly difficult for him to control the direction of her dreams.
Just now they were clearly on their way to the school gate, but now they were back in the apartment he used to live in. To be more precise, now they were both lying on Xu Chengan's bed.
Both of them seemed to have a fuzzy memory of the apartment's layout, so the only thing left in front of them was the furniture they still remembered. However, they still remembered the bed very clearly, as they had bought the bedding together.
Jiang Qixin was now lying on top of him, holding his arm with one hand and the doll they had bought together when they were shopping. She still kept the doll well and would hold it when she went to bed at night.
The weight of her body was not heavy for Xu Cheng'an, so every time Jiang Qixin lay on him, he would not refuse.
Jiang Qixin buried her head in his shoulder and sniffed the same scent of shower gel as her own. Now the timeline in the dream had returned to her university, so the pajamas she was wearing were the couple's outfit she and Xu Chengan had bought together.
"It smells so good." She muttered with her head down.
Xu Chengan put his arm around her waist, and was very pleased with her reaction. In life, Jiang Qixin actually relied on him a lot, liked his smell, and also liked his body.
The way she lay down made her legs rest on the midline of his body. Jiang Qixin gently shook her calves, and her lips seemed to brush against his collarbone.
Xu Chengan bent down and kissed her forehead. "Tomorrow is the weekend. Do you want to go somewhere?"
Xu Cheng'an knew clearly that there might be no tomorrow in the dream, but he was still dreaming about planning their future.
"No, I want to lie down at home." Jiang Qixin shook his head.
"It's better to rest." He touched her head. Xu Cheng'an didn't plan to do anything to stimulate her in this dream. She has been very busy with work recently. She is so busy with her main job that she has no time to do part-time work. Doing such things frequently in dreams will also make her tired.
If she never thought of him again in her life, then let it go. Perhaps they really weren't destined to be together. Xu Cheng'an thought it wouldn't be a bad thing for him to be the one who silently protected her behind her back.
Jiang Qixin might meet someone who loves her more and is willing to treat her well unconditionally. As long as that person truly loves her, Xu Chengan has no complaints.
Just thinking about this made him more and more uneasy.
It was not until he felt the touch of Jiang Qixin's hand on his chest that his uneasiness suddenly disappeared.
Jiang Qixin admitted that she was not a person with a calm heart, and Xu Chengan's body was meant to be touched by her.
"Have your breasts gotten bigger recently?" she asked suddenly.
Xu Cheng'an has always had the habit of fitness and has maintained a good figure. After all, a good figure is also a big advantage in seducing Jiang Qixin.
Jiang Qixin lifted his pajamas and took a look inside, then thought carefully about the last time she saw his body.
She only felt a few muffled laughs in her head, "No, your breasts have always been like this, right?" He had the impression that he didn't continue to train his breasts, but simply maintained the status quo. If they got any bigger, it might not be the figure she liked.
Jiang Qixin subconsciously looked down at her chest again, then touched his chest again, "Your heart is beating so fast now."
"How can my heart not beat faster when you touch me like this?" Xu Cheng'an frowned with a smile on his face.
"Your ears are red too." Jiang Qixin said deliberately.
He lowered his head to meet her gaze, understanding the look in her eyes.
Xu Chengan hadn't thought about doing something like this with her in his dream again, but this time it was she who took the initiative. He was so aroused by her that he couldn't resist.
She lay on top of him, her whole body lifted by him. Their body temperatures intertwined with each other, as if they wanted to invade each other and transfer their own scent to each other.
Xu Chengan tried to be as gentle as possible while still being stimulating enough for her.
"Jiang Jiang, it's me, I'm Xu Cheng'an." He leaned in and whispered to her, without stopping his movements while speaking.
"Hmm." She only made intermittent sounds from her throat.
Jiang Qixin didn't know why he kept telling her that he was Xu Cheng'an.
Of course she knew that the person who was doing the most intimate things with her was Xu Cheng'an.
"I'm always by your side." He kept whispering in her ear while panting, "I will always be with you."
Jiang Qixin couldn't count how many times Xu Cheng'an had said "I love you" and "Don't abandon me" in her ears.
The time in dreams is not equal to that in reality. Sometimes the time in Jiang Qixin's dreams can span half a month, and sometimes it happens in just a moment.
So this time they seemed to do it for a long time, so long that she rarely felt tired.
The complex feelings of excitement, comfort and fatigue continued to stimulate Jiang Qixin, until his sudden impact made her scream out loud.
A pair of eyes suddenly flashed in the darkness, and eyelashes as black as the night blinked. Jiang Qixin suddenly sat up from the bed, gasping for breath.
"I'm Xu Cheng'an."
"Jiang Jiang, I love you."
These words seemed to echo in her mind over and over again. Jiang Qixin held her forehead with her hand, and there seemed to be a ringing sound in her ears.
After more than four years, she finally seemed to dream of Xu Chengan...
Jiang Qixin confirmed that this wasn't just her imagination; she had indeed dreamed of Xu Cheng'an. Although the two of them were making love in the dream, and the content of the dream was somewhat shameful, she was certain, absolutely certain, that the person was Xu Cheng'an.
She could not mistake his voice.
The most important thing is that the only person in this world who calls her Jiang Jiang is Xu Chengan.
When he was young, he and his parents called her sister, but when he grew up a little, the name "sister" sounded inexplicably taboo between them.
Xu Cheng'an thought of a nickname for her that was unconventional, a nickname that only he would call her by.
Jiang Qixin seemed to hear the sound of wind in her ears, and she opened her lips, "Xu Chengan, is that you?"
Xu Cheng'an didn't expect that his action would directly wake her up. When he came out of the dream, his consciousness was still a little hazy. It was not until he heard Jiang Qixin's extremely soft voice that he completely woke up.
"As long as you can make Jiang Qixin remember the dream about you, she will be able to see you." This is what Wuchang said to him.
The moment she shouted, Xu Cheng'an even thought that she might have seen him.
But when he saw her expression clearly, he was a little disappointed. She didn't see him.
Jiang Qixin only felt that her solar plexus was very painful. The cramps forced her to lie back on the bed. However, no matter how fuzzy her consciousness was now, she still forced herself to pick up her mobile phone and wrote down the dream she just remembered on a note.
She was afraid that she would forget the dream when she woke up in the morning. Jiang Qixin sniffed and typed word by word on her phone with shaking hands.
Maybe this was Xu Cheng'an's hint to her that he needed something and wanted her to help burn it in the underworld.
Even though Jiang Qixin still doesn't believe that there are ghosts in the world, she is willing to believe in this worldview that goes against her ideas for Xu Cheng'an.
Xu Cheng'an looked at the notes she had written down, with some bitterness in his eyes. His Jiang Jiang had never abandoned him.
Only after she was sure that she had remembered the content of her dream did she fall asleep with complete peace of mind.
Jiang Qixin woke up in the middle of the night, her consciousness was so fuzzy that she didn't even notice that the temperature around her seemed to be getting lower and lower. She hugged the doll she bought with Xu Chengan, wrapped in a quilt and fell asleep again.
Xu Cheng'an thought that it was not a bad thing that Jiang Qixin had not seen him yet. It was too late now, and even though tomorrow was Saturday, he did not want to disturb her rest.
His appearance might scare Jiang Qixin. He longed to wake up in the morning so that Jiang Qixin could feel his presence.
But he didn't get what he wanted, Jiang Qixin couldn't see anything. He followed Jiang Qixin, and even when he hugged her secretly, she didn't feel anything.
Xu Cheng'an only knew that she got up early, stayed in the bedroom to use the computer for a while, hurriedly finished breakfast and went out.
He followed her, but he didn't expect that Jiang Qixin drove directly back to her hometown in the next city.
The rainy days that lasted for nearly a week have finally passed, and the weather has become bright again recently. Although the temperature has dropped a bit, the sun is still shining brightly.
Jiang Qixin stood in front of Xu Cheng'an's tombstone, silent.
In the first two years, she could still recite words to Xu Cheng'an's tombstone, telling him about her successful graduation, how she found a good job, and how she met some great new friends.
Or maybe I would occasionally complain about being under a lot of pressure lately, and sometimes I would say, "I miss you."
But now she looked at his tombstone and could not say anything.
As land supply exceeds demand, the price of cemeteries is becoming more and more expensive, but she and the Xu family have enough money to find a good cemetery location.
This neighborhood is really well maintained.
She squatted down and looked at the name engraved on the tombstone, looking a little lost in thought. She didn't come to the cemetery to see him very often, but she came quite often.
Jiang Qixin raised her hand and touched the words on the tombstone. "Maybe you need something that you want me to burn for you, so you came to me in your dream."
She finally spoke her first words to Xu Chengan.
"But I've looked up a lot of dream interpretations, and I can't find anything. I even consulted so-called occult scholars, but they still can't figure out what you want."
Jiang Qixin lowered her head, and the emotions that had been suppressed for so long finally burst out. There were many people crying in the cemetery, but this was her first time crying in front of Xu Chengan's tombstone.
"sorry."
"Jiang Jiang, it's not your fault." It was his fault, Xu Cheng'an said, but she could not hear anything.
The geographical location of the cemetery is still a bit eerie, even though the sunlight shining on the grass is warm and peaceful.
Jiang Qixin stood up and sat on a chair in the cemetery for a long time.
This return was a bit sudden. Xu Cheng'an's parents happened to be traveling out of town recently. She did not return to the home where she and Xu Cheng'an lived together before, but returned to the property left to her by her biological parents.
The house that no one has lived in is a little lifeless, but because someone is hired to take care of it every once in a while, it is still tidy and clean.
Jiang Qixin dragged her not-so-heavy luggage back to her long-missed room.
The layout of the room is still the same as when she was a child, except that the bedding has been changed. Her room is still a princess room full of girlishness.
Jiang Qixin couldn't muster any energy the whole day. She felt dizzy, uncomfortable, and a little nauseous.
I didn't even have lunch. I just ate two pieces of chocolate and a piece of bread and went back to my room to take a nap.
Jiang Qixin slept in a daze. He didn't know whether he had not fallen asleep at all or he had been having nightmares. His consciousness seemed to have left his body.
It’s so cold. The temperature is still over 20 degrees today, so why does she feel so cold?
But it seemed very hot, and she felt her blood vessels flowing rapidly because of the heat.
Jiang Qixin lay on the bed and curled up like a hedgehog hugging itself.
Xu Cheng'an discovered that Jiang Qixin had a fever before she did.
Jiang Qixin didn't know why she felt so uncomfortable. Her skin was a little sore all over, but she hugged herself tighter.
While struggling, she opened her slightly squinted eyes, and the scene in front of her was a little blurry.
While her consciousness was blurred, she seemed to see a ball of white mist in front of her.
It's so strange, why is there a fog in the room?
Jiang Qixin's mind was in a mess, she couldn't think clearly. She closed her eyes again, and suddenly felt a cool touch on her burning forehead.
