Little Sweethearts 12

Little Sweethearts 12

"It was you who abandoned me."

Jiang Qixin buried her head in Xu Cheng'an's neck. Even the body temperature there was a little low. The skin on his shoulder pressed against her cheek, transmitting the cold sensation to her feverish body.

After hearing her words, Xu Cheng'an was silent for a long time. He didn't know what to say for a moment, because Jiang Qixin was right. He was the one who left her first, and it was not she who abandoned him.

Xu Cheng'an's hand paused in mid-air, and after a while he slowly placed his hand on her waist.

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”

He was wrong. He did not spend his life with her in peace and health.

Jiang Qixin was stunned for a moment when she heard Xu Cheng'an mumbling to himself. She never meant to blame him.

She raised her head slightly and pressed her still soft cheek against the side of his neck. Xu Cheng'an was now like a large fever-reducing patch. Such a body temperature did not make her feel uncomfortable, but rather comfortable.

Jiang Qixin didn't know how long it would take for her fever to subside, nor did she know what her current body temperature was, but Jiang Qixin just wanted to lean on him and be isolated from the world.

"You didn't eat lunch, so I'll give you something to eat first. Then take a fever-reducing pill." Xu Cheng'an poked her spine lightly with his fingertips through her clothes.

"Yeah." She responded weakly.

Jiang Qixin already felt that she could no longer distinguish between reality and illusion. She thought that she must be dreaming now. It was impossible for her to meet Xu Chengan in the real world.

But she was really hungry. Jiang Qixin touched her stomach, got off Xu Cheng'an and lay back on the bed.

Because there was no food at home, Xu Cheng'an couldn't communicate with anyone outside except Jiang Qixin. He couldn't go out to buy food, so he ordered takeout using her phone.

A restaurant they had often eaten at when they were in middle school was still open, so he ordered one and it was now delivered to her house.

She felt a little weak, and her hands had no power. Due to the associated reaction of the fever, her body temperature regulation center was out of balance, and she felt some pain in her muscles.

Xu Cheng'an used the back of his hand to feel the temperature of her forehead, which was still very hot. According to his experience, Jiang Qixin probably needed to sleep for a whole night before the fever would completely subside.

Feeling a slight chill, Jiang Qixin moved her head forward and touched the back of his hand.

Seeing this, Xu Cheng'an turned his hand over and placed his cold palm on her forehead.

"If you feel very uncomfortable, I will feed you lunch. You have a cold and fever. Take some medicine after dinner and have a good sleep and you will be fine." He said with some concern.

Xu Cheng'an himself would not have a negative influence on Jiang Qixin. According to analysis, she did not get enough rest last night and got up early this morning. In addition, she had emotional fluctuations because of dreaming about him, and she caught a cold in the morning, so she became ill.

In addition, Jiang Qixin herself is not a person with a particularly sensitive physique. If it were not for his existence, she might never see a real ghost in her life, nor would she encounter any supernatural events.

But he is not a human after all. During the time he spent with Jiang Qixin, he paid special attention to her physical condition.

"Yeah." She responded briefly.

Xu Cheng'an had thought of many possibilities of meeting her. She might be frightened by him, or she might excitedly ask him and the destination of human souls after death. However, he never thought that he would meet her when she was too sick to have the strength.

He helped her up, adjusted the position of her pillow, and sat back on the bed. Just like he had taken care of her before, he used a spoon to feed her mouthfuls of warm porridge.

Jiang Qixin leaned on the bed. He handed her a spoon and she opened her mouth. She was so tired that she didn't even have the strength to do anything else.

The two of them fell into a state of speechless silence.

It wasn't until Xu Cheng'an's bowl was almost empty that Jiang Qixin asked, "Aren't you going to eat?"

Xu Chengan smiled at her gently, then shook his head, "I don't need to eat food."

"Oh." She responded slowly. At this moment, Jiang Qixin realized that the Xu Chengan in front of her was not human.

Seeing that Jiang Qixin quickly finished the porridge in his bowl, she lowered her head and touched her stomach, and could already feel a certain degree of fullness.

"Jiang Jiang, do you want more?"

Xu Cheng'an stood up as he spoke. He knew that based on Jiang Qixin's usual appetite, this bowl of porridge would not be enough to satisfy her, so he wanted to continue scooping another bowl of porridge to feed her.

Jiang Qixin grabbed Xu Cheng'an's big arm with her burning palm. She shook her head at him and said, "No, I can't eat anymore. I feel full already."

He turned around and looked at Jiang Qixin's face, which was even paler than his own, and nodded silently, "I'll go clean up the kitchen and come back to accompany you later."

"Okay..." Jiang Qixin slowly let go of his hand.

When Xu Chengan reached the door of the room, he turned back and glanced at her again, his eyes a little worried. For him, he saw Jiang Qixin every day and knew her every move every day.

Because he had been with her for a long time, Xu Cheng'an, a liberal arts graduate, even mastered some of her experimental techniques.

But it was different for Jiang Qixin. She hadn't seen him for almost five years. To her, he might just be a passer-by in her life, an old friend.

Even though he knew that Jiang Qixin still had feelings for him, Xu Cheng'an could see that they couldn't be in the same state as when they were in the honeymoon period.

He even felt a little pessimistic that Jiang Qixin looked at him with an inexplicable sense of alienation.

After Xu Cheng'an returned to the room, he gave her some fever-reducing medicine. Jiang Qixin took a few sips of water from the cup. She had already sweated once before, and her temperature had dropped slightly, but now it was rising again.

Jiang Qixin handed the cup to Xu Chengan and leaned back on the bed silently. Her mind was a little confused. She had a lot of questions she wanted to ask, but she didn't have the strength to speak.

The side effects of the fever-reducing medicine were so severe that Jiang Qixin started to feel dizzy and faint within a few minutes of taking it. She only felt...

The soul of her body seemed to be about to emerge from the top of her head.

Even though she knew it was not suitable to sleep after eating, she still fell headfirst onto the bed.

Xu Cheng'an covered her with the quilt. She raised her eyebrows and looked at the man in front of her. His facial features had actually begun to become blurred in her impression. For so long, she had only been able to see Xu Cheng'an's face through photos.

A strange yet familiar feeling hit her brain. Jiang Qixin stretched out her hand from under the quilt and touched Xu Cheng'an's face.

Xu Cheng'an's heart was moved by her sudden approach, and he bent down to let her touch him better.

The eyes, nose and lips are exactly the same as the real Xu Chengan.

It has been a long time since she saw the moving Xu Cheng'an. Even if this might just be a dream, she felt that there was nothing to regret.

Jiang Qixin pursed her lips, squinted her eyes and smiled at him before falling asleep again.

Xu Cheng'an had no idea what she was thinking. He sat beside her and monitored her body temperature and physical condition in real time. When she sweated on her forehead, he helped her wipe it dry.

Half an hour later, the antipyretic medicine began to work and Jiang Qixin began to sweat.

In a daze, Jiang Qixin only felt that her body seemed to be suspended in the air, and then a rough yet soft touch rolled over her back. A hot towel passed through her clothes to moisten her body, and then a dry towel wiped her body dry.

She actually didn't want to fall asleep, because even at this moment, Jiang Qixin still felt that she had just had a very real dream, and in this dream she met Xu Chengan.

When she opened her eyes again, the light of the setting sun was faintly shining through the curtains. The room had become a little dim.

Jiang Qixin felt her body and found her temperature had dropped. She glanced toward the window and realized she had woken up.

When she was mentally prepared, she turned her head and saw Xu Cheng'an leaning against the bedside table.

She subconsciously took two steps back, and her head happened to hit the bed lightly, making a sound.

Xu Cheng'an immediately opened his eyes, "What's wrong? Are you awake now? Do you feel better?" He stood up and wanted to reach out and feel her temperature.

"Wait a minute!" Jiang Qixin raised his hand to separate him, leaving an arm's length between them.

"What, what's wrong?" Xu Cheng'an clearly caught the confusion in her eyes.

She lowered her head and pinched her leg. Hiss, it felt very painful.

Jiang Qixin realized that she was not in a dream, she really saw Xu Chengan.

So she wasn't dreaming when he fed her, gave her medicine, and wiped her body with a hot towel while she was still blurry.

Xu Cheng'an was stunned for a moment, and he soon realized why Jiang Qixin was confused and surprised. He stroked her wrist with his fingers and whispered softly, "Jiang Jiang, it's me. This is not a dream."

Xu Cheng'an smiled helplessly. As expected, he should have guessed that Jiang Qixin would not be able to accept so easily that he really still existed in this world.

But he didn't expect that Jiang Qixin thought he saw him because he was dreaming.

Jiang Qixin looked down at his feet. His feet were on the ground, unlike the ghosts in the legend. The ghosts in the legend had no feet and floated in the air.

She slowly moved her gaze upwards. She seemed to have never seen the clothes Xu Cheng'an was wearing before, but they were in line with his usual style of dressing.

More importantly, there was no blood on his body from the stab wounds. His face looked a little paler than before, but in fact, it looked pretty much the same as a normal person's.

These external aspects of Xu Cheng'an seem to be different from Jiang Qixin's understanding of ghosts.

The only thing that was consistent with her understanding was that Xu Cheng'an's body temperature was lower than that of a living person.

Jiang Qixin felt her head was a little confused. She didn't know whether the person in front of her was a real soul, and she didn't know what Xu Cheng'an's motive was for appearing in front of her.

But she only hesitated for two seconds and then stopped worrying about it.

When you are alive, don't always think about useless things that will make you feel distressed.

Xu Cheng'an saw that she seemed to be thinking. He was worried that Jiang Qixin didn't trust him. He held her hand and moved it downwards, then moved closer to her. "Jiang Jiang, you clearly saw the mole on my body. I really am Xu Cheng'an."

Perhaps eager to verify, Xu Chengan directly unbuttoned two buttons of his shirt and showed her the area under his collarbone.

Jiang Qixin blinked. She did see the mole. She followed Xu Chengan's movements and looked inside his body. It was indeed Xu Chengan's body.

Xu Chengan held her hand and raised it. "If you want to touch it, you can. It will feel the same as before." He paused, "It's just that the body temperature will be lower."

"Okay, I believe you." Jiang Qixin raised her eyebrows and looked at Xu Cheng'an who looked out of control. In her impression, the last time Xu Cheng'an was so uneasy was when he confessed to her.

Because the feelings are too deep, they are afraid of losing and failing. Jiang Qixin is too introverted. Even though Xu Chengan knows her well enough, he is not completely confident in the relationship between them.

When he was still alive, Xu Cheng'an felt that there were many people in the world who could replace his position in Jiang Qixin's heart, so he did not have enough confidence.

But things are different now. People always miss the people or things they have lost. He thinks that one of the few benefits of his death is that he has become an irreplaceable possibility in Jiang Qixin's heart.

"Don't be afraid. You can ask anything you want. I came here specifically to find you, Jiang Jiang. Only you can see me."

"Yeah." She nodded vigorously.

"Jiang Jiang, do you really believe that I am Xu Cheng'an?" Xu Cheng'an himself did not expect that he would ask such a question.

Jiang Qixin's palm rested on his left chest. She couldn't feel Xu Cheng'an's heartbeat or his breath, but she could sense the familiar scent of Xu Cheng'an. "I believe you."

"Whether your existence is a dream or an illusion, or the truth, seeing you again seems to be a very lucky thing for me, so there seems to be no need to think too much."

Jiang Qixin rarely expresses her feelings directly, and she rarely even says words like "I like you".

So to Xu Cheng'an, these words were already a particularly expressive expression of her feelings.

"It's not a bad thing as long as I can be with you." She smiled with the corners of her mouth curved.

"Jiang Jiang, I promised you that I would always be with you." So he came to fulfill his promise.

Even though he was already a ghost, even though he paid the price for it.

Jiang Qixin held Xu Cheng'an's hand with her backhand and pinched his palm with her fingertips. The palm of her hand, which had just been stretched out from the quilt, was still particularly warm. When it touched Xu Cheng'an's cold hand, she seemed to tremble.

Jiang Qixin has been a very curious person since she was a child, and now she feels very novel about Xu Chengan's body and his way of existence.

Seeing that she was observing him, Xu Cheng'an sat quietly and accepted her scrutiny.

Jiang Qixin pulled out his other hand and poked his collarbone. Except for the temperature, his other sensations were the same as those of a real person.

She sat on the bed and moved closer to him. She sniffed and it was indeed a familiar smell.

Jiang Qixin felt her eyes a little sore and swollen, and she blinked desperately. She threw herself into Xu Chengan's arms as if she had first met him.

The tip of her nose brushed against the skin of his neck.

"Xu Cheng'an, I have a request."

"You said, I can agree to anything I can do." He carefully put his arm around her waist.

"I want to kiss you."
