Master 03

Master 03

Song Jing shook her head. With so many people in the department, it was impossible for He Mian to have seen her personal information in advance.

She stared at He Mian's account page for a while. Although her first impression of He Mian was not very good, she was not wary of her colleagues in the company. She threw her phone aside without thinking any more.

I lowered my head and arranged the test I would do the day after tomorrow, and then spent ten minutes preparing for my work as a tour guide tomorrow.

City A is very big and is some distance away from Song Jing's company.

The students came to visit and study in the afternoon. Song Jing spent the whole morning in the office calculating the data from the instruments the day before, and then took the company car to the factory in the afternoon.

There were two senior leaders and He Mian accompanying Song Jing. Song Jing was responsible for the lecture, while the others were responsible for keeping the atmosphere and occasionally chatting with the leaders of the college.

There was a long period of free time in between, so Song Jing didn't say much.

But after talking for nearly an hour straight, her mouth must have been dry. Song Jing took off the microphone and walked back to the office to pour herself a glass of water.

She glanced at He Mian who followed her into the office, and thinking that He Mian was going to pour her some water as well, Song Jing silently took a few steps away from the water dispenser.

She lowered her head and drank the warm water in the disposable paper cup, but saw He Mian still standing there motionless.

She pursed her lips, thinking whether she should take the initiative to pour him a glass of water, but thinking that she and He Mian were not very familiar with each other, Song Jing actually didn't want to have any communication with him.

She lowered her head and touched her lips to the disposable paper cup. Her lips were moistened by the water droplets, and the paper cup was stained with tiny traces of lipstick. Song Jing took another small step back holding the paper cup.

Just as she was about to turn around, He Mian finally took the initiative to speak to her, "Song Jing, after you finish your presentation today, you can go home directly. No need to bother going back to the company to punch in."

He Mian looked down at his watch and then looked up at her eyes.

After hearing his voice, Song Jing raised her eyebrows and looked at him. At this moment, He Mian was facing the office window, and the color of his eyes looked very light under the sunlight. Only then did she realize that the outer circle of He Mian's iris was green.

Song Jing let out a soft "oh" and then lowered her head to drink all the water in the paper cup before throwing it away.

Could it be that He Mian followed her into the office simply to inform her of this matter?

The company's factory is a certain distance away from the company's office building and physical and chemical laboratories. It is a waste of time and energy to run back to punch in after work. Therefore, as long as Song Jing comes to the factory or goes to work outside, he generally does not need to go back to the office building to punch in.

She is an old employee here, so there is no need for the director to remind her personally.

Song Jing glanced at He Mian secretly, but found that his eyes were still on her.

She looked away awkwardly, sat in the office to rest for a while, then handed over the final work to the teacher from the school and college and prepared to leave.

Song Jing carried her bag and walked along the sightseeing corridor of the production workshop. The smooth tile floor had just been cleaned and was not completely dry yet, so it was a little slippery.

Song Jing subconsciously clenched her hand around the handle of her bag and walked cautiously on the floor.

Thinking that her car had not arrived, she was considering whether to take the company car home directly when Song Jing suddenly felt something strange behind her.

It was that feeling again of someone following her. Song Jing's sixth sense was already quite strong, and she was very sensitive to many external things. She just felt a burning sensation on her back as if someone was staring at her.

Song Jing stopped and turned around subconsciously, only to find that it was He Mian walking behind her. Song Jing blinked, her eyes changing from confusion to surprise. She had just taken off her glasses and put them in her bag, and now she could not see He Mian's expression clearly.

"Mr. He, is there anything else about work that you haven't discussed yet?" Song Jing asked with narrowed eyes.

She didn't want to have to work overtime suddenly. Song Jing had just ordered a takeout and her stomach was rumbling with hunger. She just wanted to go home, have dinner and lie down in bed.

He Mian was staring at her intently, startled for a moment, then shook his head with a smile, "No, are you ready to go home now?"

Song Jing frowned subconsciously, nodded and said, "Well, it's time to get off work now. What's going on?"

She looked down at the time on her phone and rubbed her waist with her other hand.

She stood for almost the entire afternoon today and was completely exhausted. Normally, even in the laboratory, she rarely stood for so long. She had more opportunities to sit and operate than to stand.

He Mian lowered his eyebrows and looked at her hands that fell behind her. He seemed to see a hint of impatience in Song Jing's eyes. Song Jing didn't look at him like this before...

"Yeah, it's okay. Be careful on your way home." He poked his fingertips to suppress the inexplicable sour feeling in his heart.

He thought silently in his heart, it's okay, she just doesn't know who he is now. To Song Jing, he is just a stranger she just met. He Mian shouldn't expect her to look at him with any other emotions now.

Song Jing suppressed her sleepiness and nodded, saying the same thing to He Mian. When she turned around, she finally burst out her yawn.

He Mian leaned against the corridor and watched Song Jing's back disappear from the corner. His eyes caught a cat pendant hanging on her bag very early. On the way to the factory, he saw Song Jing fiddling with the cat pendant on her bag intentionally or unintentionally.

He Mian was a little jealous, jealous that a cotton product could win her love so easily.

Work was finished early today. In summer, the days are long and the nights are short. When Song Jing returned to the downstairs of the community, the sun had not yet set and the takeaway had happened to have been delivered. Song Jing lowered her head to confirm the order number on the takeaway and walked into the building carrying a heavy bowl of spicy hot pot.

The numbers on the elevator display were changing slowly. Song Jing stood in front of the elevator door, feeling bored. Occasionally, the sounds of children playing could be heard from the square of the community. She tilted her head back and yawned again.

She looked back at the emergency passage diagonally opposite the elevator. There was a sensor light in the emergency passage, and now she could only see a dark entrance with a faint green light coming through the door - the light from the emergency exit indicator sign.

There was a slight sound coming from the emergency passage, a sound somewhat like a plastic bag. Song Jing subconsciously turned back to look at the door with green light, and her scalp inexplicably tingled.

At the same time, the elevator finally reached the first floor. With the "ding" sound of the elevator arriving, Song Jing walked quickly into the elevator with her takeaway and bag. Before the elevator door closed automatically, she quickly pressed the close button.

After getting out of the elevator, Song Jing quickened her pace and walked back home, entering the password and closing the door in one go.

I forgot to control my strength for a moment, and heard a loud slam of the door closing.

Song Jing leaned against the door and took a deep breath. Could it be that she was too tired from work recently and had become mentally disturbed?

She thought in confusion that this was the third time in the past few days that she felt someone was following her on the way home.

But she really didn't see anyone else behind her. Song Jing patted her chest, took a deep breath, hung her bag at the entrance, and turned around to put the takeaway on the dining table.

He plopped down on the sofa without even opening the takeaway package, and sighed deeply with the fatigue of having just gotten off work.

The room was quiet, the only sounds of her movements in the house where she lived alone.

It happens to be the peak time for people getting off work and school, so it is very lively downstairs.

Song Jing listened to her own breathing in the room and felt sleepy again.

She turned on her cell phone and set an alarm for fifteen minutes, deciding to lie down on the sofa and take a nap before having dinner. Just as her fingertips touched the button to confirm the alarm setting, there was a slow and rhythmic knock on the door.

Song Jing's ears twitched, and she turned her head alertly to look towards the door.

She swallowed nervously, stood up, and walked to the door in her slippers.

Looking through the peephole, she saw the not-so-familiar face. She opened her mouth in surprise, then opened the door and half-exposed her body. "Mr. He, why are you here?"

He Mian looked at her half-extended body, one hand supporting the wall and the other tightly gripping the door handle, which was a manifestation of her body's subconscious defensive state.

He blinked and put on as innocent an expression as possible, then raised his hand in front of her eyes. There was a pendant hanging on his hand. "Your kitten fell off."

Song Jing let out a soft "ah". She knew it was the pendant hanging on her bag. She reached out and took it, "Thank you..."

"Where did you pick it up?" She patted the invisible dust off the pendant doll.

"I found it near the main entrance on the first floor." He Mian replied.

Just when Song Jing let down her guard, she reacted, "No, why are you here? Mr. He, you don't live in this neighborhood, do you?"

He Mian smiled and said, "Not only that, I'm also your new neighbor." He paused, then added, "Just across the street from you."

"Ah?" Song Jing looked at the house across the street in surprise. There had been no residents living in that house, but she had seen the decoration team come to decorate it before, but she had never seen the owner.

At first she thought that someone just bought a house here for investment. No matter how rich her imagination was, she could not have imagined that the new director of their company was the owner of the house across from her.

Seeing He Mian said this, Song Jing didn't want to stop him outside the door, so the two of them went into the living room and had a glass of water.

Song Jing lowered her head and looked at the damaged buckle on the kitten pendant, feeling a little sad. This was a rare doll pendant that looked somewhat like the kitten that she could find on the market.

Oh, by the way, Xiaomian is the Maine Coon cat she raised at the beginning. Because it was kidnapped instead of bought and it didn’t cost any money, so it was named Xiaomian, which means free.

Although this series of pendants should still be available in brand stores, she has used this pendant for a long time and has some feelings for it. If she buys a new one, even if it looks similar, it will not be the same kitten pendant as before.

He Mian silently took in her actions and asked, "Are you eating takeout again tonight?" He glanced at the takeout bag on the table.

"Yeah, I suddenly wanted to eat spicy hot pot, so I ordered one." Song Jing said truthfully, putting away the pendant. "What about you, Mr. He? Do you live alone now?"

"Yes, I live alone too." He Mian paused and quickly added, "I'm single."

"Oh, it's quite troublesome to live alone and cook." Song Jing touched the tip of her nose and couldn't continue chatting with He Mian.

Fortunately, He Mian is not her direct superior, and they don’t have many opportunities to meet in the company. Otherwise, she would be a little crazy now.

He Mian's perception was much sharper than Song Jing's. He quickly received the message and felt some helplessness and impatience from her.

He was a little disappointed and left her house without any further pleasantries.

"Bye." Song Jing closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief.

When she turned around and walked back to the living room, the alarm of her cell phone on the sofa rang, and Song Jing's sleepiness completely disappeared.

"Forget it, let's eat dinner first. I'm starving." She touched her stomach and said to herself.

-

After taking a shower in the evening, when I was sitting in the living room reading entertainment news, the door of the house was knocked again, and at the same time I received a message from He Mian on my mobile phone.

She hesitated for a moment, then put down her phone and opened the door of her house.

"I baked egg tarts. I wonder if you like them. Would you like some?" He Mian asked her while holding a plate.

Song Jing sniffed and smelled a rich milky aroma. The egg tart crust had turned an appetizing brown due to the Maillard reaction. Her throat subconsciously swallowed, and she completely forgot to hide the shining look in her eyes.

She raised her head and looked at He Mian, only to find that he was much taller than her.

"Don't you like it? It's okay if you don't like it. Sorry to bother you." He spoke in a voice that only the two of them could hear, and his tone was a little low.

It sounded strangely aggrieved. Song Jing knew that when he was in the company, he always acted businesslike, with a clear but resounding voice, which was quite different from now.

Song Jing quickly waved her hands, "No, no, I really like it. Thank you so much."

He Mian knew that she actually liked eating egg tarts.

He also knew that if Song Jing ate dinner early, she would have an extra midnight snack. She might eat four meals a day four or five days a week.

He knew her very well. He knew her favorite color was purple, that her favorite singer had released a new song last month, that she preferred wearing flats or sneakers because they were more comfortable when standing in the lab, but that she would occasionally wear a few pairs of black high heels, and that she liked to use milk-scented or rose-scented shower gel when she took a bath...

He knew everything about her, but Song Jing didn't know many of his secrets.
