Uncle Shen left in a daze, and Lin Yan came in a little while later.
He closed the door and walked to Shen Jiazhou's desk: "President Shen."
Shen Jiazhou said, "Go and find my cousin-in-law in front of him later."
Lin Yan naturally understood what Shen Jiazhou meant. He nodded and placed the resignation letter in his hand on the table: "Please sign it when you have time."
Shen Jiazhou hummed in agreement, then promptly signed and stamped Lin Yan's resignation letter: "Have you reached an agreement with the others?"
Lin Yan nodded: "It's settled, everyone is willing to go with you."
The employees on the sixteenth floor were mostly handpicked by Shen Jiazhou, and they had already worked well together. Since Shen Jiazhou was leaving, he would naturally ask about their intentions.
Lin Yan continued, "I've made arrangements. First, let Xiaoyuan and the others submit their resignation applications, and then the rest will clean up the mess."
The Shen family members are not fools; such a large-scale personnel change will definitely arouse suspicion.
Only after Shen Jiazhou successfully hands over the reins will the 16th floor be completely overhauled by the "new" President Shen, and then a large-scale exodus will be a logical next step.
Shen Jiazhou nodded slightly, recalling what Xu Zhen had said in the conference room earlier.
"Have someone check the house that Shu Qiao rented before." Shen Jiazhou had initially thought that someone might be behind it, but he didn't have enough information and the two of them were safe, so he didn't take it to heart.
However, hearing Xu Zhen say that still felt a bit abnormal to him.
Lin Yan said, "Okay, I'll have someone inquire about it."
Shen Jiazhou pushed his resignation letter back to him: "Go and get busy."
Go and give his second uncle a good thrashing.
*
When Shen Jiazhou got home from get off work, Cancan was sitting on a small stool playing with a puzzle. After changing his shoes and walking out of the entrance hall, he saw Wen Shuqiao sitting at the dining table, engrossed in typing on the keyboard.
She was wearing thin-rimmed glasses today. When she heard the noise, she looked up and met Shen Jiazhou's gaze.
Wen Shuqiao smiled slightly at him and said, "You're back."
Shen Jiazhou hesitated for a moment, then nodded slightly: "Mm."
Can Can shifted his attention from the puzzle and looked at Shen Jia Zhou. His face, which had been troubled about how to put it together, instantly brightened.
He scrambled up from the chair, running and calling out, "Uncle~ you're back~"
Can Can hugged his legs: "Uncle, did you miss me?"
Shen Jiazhou pinched his face: "Why would I miss you? Didn't you say I was going to jail?"
Can Can pouted: "So you miss me."
My uncle must be saying one thing and meaning another!
Shen Jiazhou said, "Let go, I'm going to change into some clean clothes."
Can Can released her grip on him this time, and Shen Jiazhou looked at Wen Shuqiao again: "Busy?"
Wen Shuqiao looked up: "You can eat soon after you change your clothes. Auntie has already prepared it."
Wen Shuqiao had originally planned for her to cook, but she couldn't get a word in edgewise; the nanny finished cooking early and left.
As Shen Jiazhou walked toward the master bedroom, he said, "Didn't I tell you? Don't wait for me. Eat when you're hungry."
Before Wen Shuqiao could answer, Cancan hurriedly said, "Yes! We're family! Of course we should eat together!"
Shen Jiazhou curled his lips: "You're all talk."
Can Can followed Shen Jia Zhou to the master bedroom door like a little shadow, but was ultimately turned away by Shen Jia Zhou and left outside.
He crossed his arms like his uncle usually does, not understanding why the baby wouldn't be allowed in! The baby had already let his uncle into the room!
Wen Shuqiao also got up at this moment. She took the computer away from the dining table, did a quick summary, and then put the food that the aunt had prepared back on the table.
I also made old duck soup tonight. Shen Jiazhou specially had it delivered; these warm soups are perfect for winter. The old duck soup simmered all afternoon, and the meat was tender.
When Shen Jiazhou came out in his pajamas, Cancan had already drunk half a bowl of hot soup. When she saw her uncle coming over, she took the initiative to pick up a spoon and carefully served soup to Shen Jiazhou, as if presenting a treasure.
Shen Jiazhou looked at the soup in the bowl and raised an eyebrow slightly: "What are you going to do?"
He was a little unaccustomed to this sudden display of thoughtfulness and warmth.
Wen Shuqiao quietly added, "I helped Auntie peel garlic this afternoon and got praised for it."
So my emotions have been running high ever since.
Shen Jiazhou chuckled lightly: "Alright, I understand."
He drank the soup made with filial piety and then asked, "Did you call your Uncle Xingyuan this afternoon?"
Can Can was gnawing on a duck leg when she heard her uncle's question. She nodded and said, "Yes, I did! I also said I was going to see Dad this weekend, and Uncle Xingyuan said he would come with us."
Uncle Xingyuan said he misses him too!
Shen Jiazhou hummed in agreement: "Understood."
Wen Shuqiao put down her soup spoon. She originally wanted to ask about Yu Mingxue, but with Cancan there, she felt a little awkward about asking.
But Shen Jiazhou noticed her hesitant expression and said, "Want to ask about Yu Mingxue?"
She nodded: "Yes."
“I’m not very close to her. She went abroad and we lost contact. She just called me a few days ago, but she didn’t say she was coming back.” She only asked about Wen Zhixia’s situation before hanging up.
Shen Jiazhou then asked, "What did she say to you?"
Wen Shuqiao glanced at Cancan, but he was busy eating a duck leg and didn't pay any attention to what they were saying.
Wen Shuqiao then said gently, "I didn't say anything, I just asked where I picked up Cancan. After I found out, I said I had some urgent business to attend to and I would come to find us after I finished."
