After taking a shower, Can Can lay on the bed covered with his own small blanket and quilt. He was very energetic at the moment, looking at Wen Shu Qiao sitting by the bed.
Wen Shuqiao was looking through the unfinished story for him when he asked, a little dejectedly, "Auntie, do I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow?"
Wen Shuqiao put down her storybook, looked at Cancan, and asked, "What's wrong, baby?"
Can Can got out of bed, carrying her blanket in one hand, and after taking a few steps, opened her arms to her aunt.
Wen Shuqiao held him in her arms, wrapped his little blanket around him, and after doing all this, she said softly, "You're a big boy now, why do you still need your aunt to carry you?"
Can Can pouted and gave a wronged "Mmm": "I just want Auntie to hug me."
Wen Shuqiao pinched his nose, then gently shook him: "Okay, Auntie will put baby to sleep."
Can Can pouted unhappily and said, "Auntie, I don't really want to go to kindergarten."
"Isn't kindergarten fun?" Wen Shuqiao asked. "I saw the videos Teacher Lily posted; your curriculum seems very rich."
Wen Shuqiao felt a bit depressed when she went there last time, and always felt that the children there were not very lively. However, after Can Can went there today, she found that it was actually quite good. At Little Sun Private School, each class has at least four teachers supervising, as well as some nannies-like figures, so she can rest assured about safety.
The food looked delicious and healthy.
That feeling of oppression vanished instantly.
Can Can reached out, pinching his aunt's earlobe with one hand and playing with his aunt's long hair that fell above him with the other, remaining silent and quiet.
Wen Shuqiao didn't urge him to ask, but continued to gently rock him. After a while, Can Can said, "It's fun, but Auntie, you and Uncle can't come in and play with me."
A family should play together, right? Although kindergarten seems like a lot of fun, it's not perfect without aunts and uncles.
“Auntie and Uncle have to go to work,” Wen Shuqiao said. “Everyone has their own things to do. Going to kindergarten is your job, and Uncle and I are working. Once we’ve finished our tasks, we can see each other.”
She said, "And you also have a phone watch, so if you miss us, you can call us during breaks."
Can Can buried her face in her aunt's arms, not really wanting to hear what her aunt was saying.
Wen Shuqiao didn't say anything more, gently rocking Cancan to lull him to sleep.
After Shen Jiazhou finished cleaning the bathroom, he came out and saw her looking down at Can Can with a smile.
Because it was time to sleep, only a small nightlight was on in the children's room. The soft light fell on the woman, seemingly gilding her with a golden glow.
He stood there, his originally calm heart stirred with a strange feeling, yet he didn't want to look away.
Suddenly, the person sitting in the light turned to look at him, her smile still lingering. She asked softly, "Jia Zhou, what are you doing standing there?"
Jiazhou.
Hearing Wen Shuqiao call his name, he remembered the little accident that afternoon. He pressed his arm against Wen Shuqiao's clothes, pressing it tightly against Wen Shuqiao's lower back, as if trying to heat it up.
He snapped out of his daze, strode toward her, glanced at the drowsy Can Can in her arms, took another step forward, and tidied up the slightly disheveled blankets.
When she turned around again, Wen Shuqiao had already picked up Can Can from the chair.
Can Can's weight and height have increased significantly recently, and you can tell that Wen Shu Qiao is having some difficulty carrying her.
He reached out and carefully slipped his arm under Can Can, taking him from Wen Shuqiao's hands.
The two were brought even closer together because of this action, and Shen Jiazhou smelled the incense again. It smelled the same as his own, but it gave people a different feeling.
He pursed his thin lips, lowered his eyes, and only dared to look at Cancan's sleeping face.
After Shen Jiazhou took Cancan, Wen Shuqiao walked to the bedside, lifted the quilt, and made it easier for Shen Jiazhou to put Cancan on the bed.
She stood to one side, watching Shen Jiazhou bend one leg, press his knee against the edge of the bed, lower his upper body, and constantly adjust his arms until he finally placed Can Can steadily in the middle of the bed.
Wen Shuqiao was originally looking at Cancan, but as she looked, her gaze involuntarily fell on Shen Jiazhou.
Because he was "cleaning up" in the bathroom, his sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and the veins on his forearms bulged slightly from the effort. The dim light shone on him, and an ambiguous atmosphere was spreading.
Shen Jiazhou is also one of the best-looking men. Perhaps because he is more relaxed at home, his elite aura has faded a bit during the day, but he has gained a more youthful vibe.
How old is he this year?
Wen Shuqiao was lost in thought for a moment. He should be around twenty-seven or twenty-eight.
After covering Can Can with the blanket, Shen Jiazhou straightened up, put his legs down on the bed, and turned his head to signal Wen Shuqiao to go out and chat, but caught her staring at him blankly for a moment.
My heart was pounding wildly in my chest, as if it were out of control.
Shen Jiazhou couldn't understand why his heart was behaving so uncontrollably tonight, beating erratically.
"What are you thinking about?" Shen Jiazhou finally asked.
Wen Shuqiao snapped out of her daze and subconsciously murmured something unintelligible before replying softly, "It's nothing, let's go out first."
I'm afraid I'll wake Can Can up later.
Shen Jiazhou nodded and pulled up the bed railing, which had only been installed a few days ago to prevent Cancan from falling to the ground in the middle of the night.
After making sure that Can Can was properly covered with the blanket, the two of them left the children's room together.
