After picking up the package, Shen Jiazhou had no reason to stay any longer. He said goodbye to Wen Shuqiao and went downstairs humming a little tune.
Stepping out of the building, the sunlight felt warm on him. Shen Jiazhou raised his head and squinted at the sky.
This neighborhood is really nice; it's warm and cozy under the sun. If the transaction goes smoothly, he can also buy a place in this neighborhood. After all, Can Can is here, and as her uncle, he can naturally help out as much as he can.
After thinking it over, Shen Jiazhou hummed an unidentified tune as he walked toward his car. Since he was looking at houses today, he didn't park in the basement. After getting into the car and fastening his seatbelt, he noticed that Wen Shuqiao's bag was still in the car.
Instead of driving, he took out his phone and called Wen Shuqiao.
Wen Shuqiao answered the phone quickly, and a familiar voice on the other end asked, "Jiazhou, what's wrong?"
Shen Jiazhou said, "Your bag is still in my car. Shall I bring it up to you?"
Wen Shuqiao then remembered and said, "No need, there's nothing inside. You can take it home for me tonight."
Shen Jiazhou hummed in agreement.
Wen Shuqiao said, "Drive safely, bye-bye."
Shen Jiazhou said "okay" and then "bye-bye" before hanging up the phone. He wanted to take another look at the bag in the back of the car through the rearview mirror, but instead met his own eyes in the mirror.
Shen Jiazhou: ...
Is that person laughing inexplicably in the mirror?
Shen Jiazhou instantly wiped the smile off his face. He patted his cheeks. It was an illusion… it was just an illusion…
How could he possibly be laughing like a fool?
Shen Jiazhou calmly started the car, calmly stepped on the gas, and calmly rolled down the window, letting the cool breeze blow on his slightly feverish head.
Shen Jiazhou chuckled inwardly and calmed down.

After Shen Jiazhou left, Wen Shuqiao didn't sit idle either. She unpacked all the packages she had bought, decorated the master bedroom and the second bedroom, and took some photos to show Cancan when she picked him up in the afternoon.
By the time everything was packed up, it was already noon.
She took the trash downstairs, threw it away, and then slowly walked around the neighborhood before leaving and starting to wander outside.
The commercial street surrounding Jade Courtyard is already well-developed, making it convenient to buy anything and offering a wide variety of food options.
Wen Shuqiao randomly picked a noodle shop, ordered a bowl of dry noodles, and began to enjoy her lunch. She was watching a video sent by Teacher Lili on her phone.
Today I taught the children to sing again. Can Can and the child from yesterday stood together and sang very seriously. They seemed to be getting along very well.
Wen Shuqiao felt a little relieved, but also a little lost. When she first came to this world, she didn't really feel a sense of belonging to anything here. She always thought that she should just hand Can Can over to Shen Jiazhou and go live her own life.
Her life was unchanging, but Can Can brought her many different experiences, enriching her world little by little, and that feeling was quite nice.
Thinking about it, Wen Shuqiao's expression softened again, and she watched other videos while eating.
After finishing the noodles, we had also watched most of the videos.
She glanced at the time; it was about time to take the subway to her studio.
Wen Shuqiao left the noodle shop and walked on both sides watching the cars coming and going. Once she got her driver's license, she could buy a car, which would make it convenient for her to go anywhere.
She's been doing well in her photography classes lately, and maybe in a while she'll be able to take on clients on her own.
Zhong Qi also asked her yesterday if she would like to stay in the studio, starting as an assistant, but she would still get paid.
She was willing, of course. Although the assistant's salary wasn't high, it would allow her to learn a lot.
As she was envisioning a bright future, she heard a car horn beside her. She instinctively looked in the direction of the sound and saw a white SUV slowly driving by beside her.
Wen Shuqiao didn't pay attention and continued walking forward, but the car honked again.
Wen Shuqiao looked again and saw that the car window had been rolled down, and a male voice came from inside the car: "Shuqiao?"
Hearing her name called, Wen Shuqiao stopped and looked towards the driver's seat with a puzzled expression. "Teacher Xie?" she asked, somewhat surprised.
The person inside the car was Xie Jingbei.
Xie Jingbei smiled at her: "Going to the studio?"
Wen Shuqiao nodded: "Yes, I'm getting ready to go to class."
Xie Jingbei said, "Get in the car, I'll give you a ride."
Wen Shuqiao quickly waved her hand: "Teacher Xie, you go first. I'll take the subway by myself."
Xie Jingbei said, "I'm the one who has class this afternoon, and we're going the same way."
Wen Shuqiao wanted to refuse, but the car behind Xie Jingbei started honking, seemingly displeased that they were "chatting" on the main road.
Xie Jingbei said, "Let's go quickly."
Helpless, Wen Shuqiao quickly walked over, opened the back door, and got in.
After getting in the car, Xie Jingbei resumed driving at a faster pace.
He glanced at Wen Shuqiao in the rearview mirror and said, "I saw you from a distance just now and thought I was seeing things. Do you live around here?"
Wen Shuqiao said gently, "I'm just passing by on my way here on business."
He then asked in return, "Does Teacher Xie live around here?"
"Yes," Xie Jingbei said with a smile. "I was thinking of bringing it back to you after class if you live nearby."
Wen Shuqiao smiled gently and said, "You're too kind, teacher."
Actually, she hadn't seen Xie Jingbei for a long time. Xie Jingbei hadn't appeared at the studio after attending a few classes, so she didn't expect to run into him here.
Just as Xie Jingbei was about to say something, he heard his phone ring.
Wen Shuqiao said apologetically, "Excuse me, I need to take this call."
Xie Jingbei hummed in agreement: "Do as you please."
She glanced at the screen; the caller was Shen Jiazhou.
