The two ate the quietest meal they'd had in a while. After the meal, Shen Jiazhou, as always, efficiently put the dishes and chopsticks into the dishwasher. When he came out, Wen Shuqiao was sitting on the sofa watching TV.
He stood behind her for a while, then went back to the kitchen, poured out two glasses of water, and sat down next to her.
Wen Shuqiao took the water: "Thank you."
She held the cup in both hands, the heat of the water making her palms feel warm as well.
Shen Jiazhou simply shrugged slightly, took a sip of water from his cup, placed it on the coffee table, and picked up the photo album that was placed to the side.
