After Shen Jiazhou gave Can Can a bath, he wrapped him up in a towel like a rice dumpling and carried him out of the bathroom. Wen Shuqiao was sitting in a chair reading a book, reading the story he was going to tell that night.
Can Can giggled, "Auntie! I'm going to take a nice bath!"
Wen Shuqiao put down the storybook and watched Shen Jiazhou put Cancan on the bed: "What are you grinning about? Get dressed yourself, I'll go run the bathtub."
Can Can nodded and obediently sat on the bed, removing the bath towel wrapped around herself.
Wen Shuqiao was about to help him put on his clothes, but he and the chair turned around.
Shen Jiazhou said, "Boys and girls are different. He's a big boy now and can dress himself. When the weather gets warmer, we'll let him take a bath by himself."
Although Can Can was puzzled as to why her uncle turned her aunt around so that her back was facing her, she quickly put on her Ultraman pants and pajamas after fidgeting on the bed for a while.
After seeing that he was dressed, Shen Jiazhou turned Wen Shuqiao back around.
Wen Shuqiao silently stood up from her chair. Shen Jiazhou asked, "Why are you standing up?"
Wen Shuqiao said, "I feel dizzy in the chair."
After saying that, she sat down on the edge of the bed.
Shen Jiazhou couldn't help but laugh: "Don't worry, I won't let you fall."
Wen Shuqiao ignored him: "Go clean up the bathroom."
Shen Jiazhou then hummed a little tune as he walked towards the bathroom.
Can Can jumped twice on the bed, then jumped behind Wen Shu Qiao and lay down. He asked sweetly, "Will Auntie tell me a story today?"
Wen Shuqiao pinched his cheek: "Yes."
Can Can let out a joyful shout, very excited. She flopped back, rolled twice towards the headboard, then nimbly got up, burrowed herself under the covers, tucked the small blanket under the covers to make sure she was covered, and then her eyes sparkled: "Auntie, I'm all set, please tell me a story!"
He loves listening to his aunt tell him stories. Although his uncle tells them well too, he still prefers his aunt.
Wen Shuqiao picked up a book from the side, opened it to the page they had discussed earlier, and began to read it gently.
A short while later, Shen Jiazhou also came out of the bathroom, lowering his rolled-up sleeves as he walked.
He said, "I'll read it."
Wen Shuqiao looked up at him and said, "I'll read it."
They agreed that each person would take turns comforting the child for a day.
Can Can was initially pouting in dissatisfaction, but after hearing her aunt say that, she smiled with great relief.

Shen Jiazhou stopped talking. His gaze passed over Wen Shuqiao, glanced at Cancan lying on the bed, and then fixed on Wen Shuqiao.
She sat on the edge of the bed, her back against the headboard, a corner of the blanket casually draped over her body, her head slightly lowered, reading the contents of the book in a soft voice.
To help Cancan fall asleep faster, the room lights were turned off, leaving only a soft nightlight on.
The light was dim, but her expression was still clearly visible.
Her tone of voice wasn't constant; sometimes it was a little faster, and sometimes a little slower.
Lively and adorable.
No wonder Can Can wants to read storybooks to Wen Shu Qiao every day.
The room was quiet. Can Can had been playing outside with Gu Xingyuan all day and was already sleepy. As she listened, her big, round eyes gradually closed.
In a daze, he moved a couple more times toward Wen Shuqiao, grabbed the hem of her clothes with his fingers, and then finally fell asleep peacefully.
Wen Shuqiao heard his long, even breathing. She moved her gaze from the book to his face, smiled, pinched it, placed the book on the bedside table, and carefully pulled the corner of his clothes out of his hand.
She got up and moved Can Can further inside, and suddenly there was another figure beside her.
Shen Jiazhou bent down, slipped his arm under Cancan's neck, and gently lifted him up, placing him on the inside.
Wen Shuqiao gave him her seat and watched as Shen Jiazhou covered Cancan with the blanket and pulled up the guardrails on the sides and foot of the bed so she wouldn't fall to the ground in the middle of the night.
After doing all this, Shen Jiazhou glanced at the door and gestured for the two of them to leave.
Wen Shuqiao nodded, glanced at Cancan one last time, and then the two quietly left the children's room.
Once the door to the children's room is closed, they can speak normally.
Wen Shuqiao glanced at the time on her phone, pretending to look at it. "It's getting late. I'm going upstairs to rest now. You should rest early too."
Shen Jiazhou stepped forward and took her hand, interlocking their fingers before saying, "It's still early. Besides, you promised me you'd go for a walk with me today. Now that Can Can is asleep, shouldn't you keep your promise?"
He glanced at the cake wagging its tail not far away; it was time to walk the dog!
Wen Shuqiao also looked at the cake. She had been taken out for a walk today and was probably exhausted. Why would anyone take her out for a walk? Is she even human?
She said, "Cake is already tired enough today."
After the dog was greeted with great enthusiasm upon returning, it lay down on the ground to rest, which exhausted it.
