Shen Jiazhou arrived home ten minutes earlier than expected.
As soon as he entered the house, he was stopped by Can Can, who had been waiting for him. Can Can raised his hand, waiting for Shen Jia Zhou to hug him.
Shen Jiazhou took a deep breath and had no choice but to stop looking for Wen Shuqiao. He put his suitcase aside, bent down and picked him up: "Baby."
Can Can cupped his face and kissed him several times, then hugged his neck and nuzzled him: "I missed you so much, Uncle. Did you miss me?"
"I missed you." Shen Jiazhou adjusted his position so that Can Can was sitting in his arms, then carried him from the entrance with one hand on his shoulder and the other holding a suitcase: "Where's Auntie?"
Can Can replied, "My aunt is taking a shower. She just played games with me."
Shen Jiazhou said "oh". He wanted to put Can Can down and go back to the master bedroom, but Can Can refused. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck and her legs around his waist, clinging to Shen Jiazhou.
He said, "I just want you to hold me, Uncle. You have no idea how much I miss you."
Shen Jiazhou patted his back: "I don't know if you want to or not, but you're choking me so badly, loosen your grip a bit."
Can Can then let go of him, instead cupping his face in her hands, and said with a hint of heartache, "Uncle, you seem to have become uglier. Have you not been eating and sleeping properly?"
Shen Jiazhou hadn't even recovered from Cancan's tenderness when he suddenly heard this caring word.
Thank you, that shows your filial piety.
Shen Jiazhou couldn't help but pat his butt: "Who's ugly?"
Can Can kissed his cheek again, then buried her face in her hands and giggled.
"You brat," Shen Jiazhou said, "If I don't discipline you for three days, you'll start climbing on the roof and tearing off the tiles, won't you?"
What's wrong with him? What's wrong with him?
She keeps saying things he doesn't want to hear. Can Can's sharp tongue is just like Shen Jiachen's; father and son are exactly the same.
Can Can wouldn't get off him, so he had no choice but to hold him and sit on the sofa to try and strengthen their uncle-nephew relationship. In reality, his heart had already flown to Wen Shu Qiao.
Fortunately, perhaps God heard his prayer, because Wen Shuqiao came out of the master bedroom in less than five minutes.
She was somewhat surprised to see Shen Jiazhou: "You arrived so quickly?"
Shen Jiazhou directly lifted the clingy Cancan off his body and onto the sofa, then quickly got up and rushed towards Wen Shuqiao.
Before Can Can could even react, her uncle had already hugged her tightly when she turned around again.
Wen Shuqiao was held tightly in his arms, and due to inertia, she took a step back. Then she immediately reached out and hugged his waist tightly.
Shen Jiazhou buried his face in the crook of her shoulder, took a few deep breaths through his nose, and the frustration of the past two days finally dissipated a little. His tone was a little aggrieved: "I missed you so much."
Wen Shuqiao patted the back of his head: "I miss you too."
Shen Jiazhou tightened his arms around them, wishing he could make them become one.
Can Can came over in his slippers, hugged his own arm, looked up and said unhappily, "Uncle! Am I still your baby?"
Wen Shuqiao smiled and looked down. She patted Shen Jiazhou's back and said, "Hurry up and hug your baby. He's starting to get angry."
"Never mind him," Shen Jiazhou whispered in Wen Shuqiao's ear, "You're my darling too."
Holding any baby is the same as holding them.
Wen Shuqiao pinched the back of his neck: "Alright, are you hungry?"
Shen Jiazhou muttered, "I'm not hungry. I ate dinner before getting on the bus."
Wen Shuqiao pushed him away. Shen Jiazhou wanted to hug her again, but Wen Shuqiao made a stop gesture: "Since you're not hungry, go take a shower. It's already 11:30. Cancan hasn't slept while waiting for you. I'll go and coax him to sleep."
Shen Jiazhou thought about it carefully and realized it was indeed very late. He had already put Can Can to sleep, and what followed was just him and Wen Shuqiao enjoying some alone time. The thought sounded wonderful.
He kissed Wen Shuqiao: "Okay! I'm going to take a shower."
Can Can quickly looked up: "What about me? Uncle? What about me?"
Shen Jiazhou bent down and kissed him on the cheek: "I haven't forgotten you, my little darling. There are new toys in your suitcase. Go to sleep early, and you can play with them when you wake up tomorrow."
Can Can hummed in agreement, then asked, "Can't I play for a while now? Uncle, I'm not sleepy at all."
"No, you can't." Shen Jiazhou kissed the other half of his cheek again: "Go to sleep with your aunt."
Can Can had no choice but to agree, "Let's watch it tomorrow then! Hehe! Anyway, tomorrow will come soon."
Shen Jiazhou straightened up and looked at Wen Shuqiao again. Wen Shuqiao stood on tiptoe and kissed the corner of his mouth: "Go on, we'll talk about it later."
Shen Jiazhou was itching to kiss Wen Shuqiao properly later, to make up for the time he hadn’t been able to kiss her these past two days!
The three of them went into the master bedroom together. Can Can watched her uncle take his pajamas into the bathroom and said sweetly, "Uncle, you have to come with me to my extracurricular class tomorrow! I'll play the erhu for you!"
Shen Jiazhou's hand rested lightly on the doorknob, and he said helplessly, "Alright, alright, I understand. Go to sleep now."
Cancan's eyes lit up: "Okay!"
Wen Shuqiao urged, "Hurry up and take a shower, close the door, and I'll take him to bed."
Shen Jiazhou met Can Can's bright, sparkling eyes and dared not delay any longer, so he immediately closed the door.
This is the first time I've ever wanted to make Can Can fall asleep immediately.
After closing the door, Wen Shuqiao looked down and exchanged a glance with Cancan. Cancan couldn't help but laugh, but when she saw her aunt make a shushing gesture, she quickly covered her mouth tightly.
