Chapter 414 Lazy Puppy

After taking the photos, Wen Shuqiao pushed open the door and went into the children's room.

Can Can was still fast asleep, lying sprawled out in the middle of the bed with her head tilted to the side, one foot on the blanket and the other foot exposed.

Even at such a young age, the advantage of having long legs is already evident.

Wen Shuqiao went over and covered him with a thin blanket.

Fortunately, the house is warm, so I don't have to worry about him catching a cold.

She adjusted Can Can's sleeping position, covered him with the blanket, watched him by the bed for a while, and finally lowered her head to kiss his cheek, saying softly, "Baby pig."

Can, the little pig, had no idea that while he was still asleep, his aunt came in and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek; otherwise, he would have been strutting around like a madman.

A child surrounded by love loves kisses and hugs; he especially loves it when his aunt and uncle kiss him.

Wen Shuqiao gently pinched his cheek again, and then slowly left the children's room.

Looking around, it was only seven o'clock.

It was already getting light outside. She stretched her body, but with something on her mind, she couldn't sit still.

She stood on the balcony and looked out, then turned and walked towards the doghouse.

The cake was half asleep when it was suddenly woken up by someone moving it. It opened its eyes in confusion and looked at Wen Shuqiao, but its eyelids were about to close again in the next second.

Wen Shuqiao said, "Cake, don't sleep, I'll take you out to play."

Normally, the cake would move faster than anyone else when it heard the words "go out to play," but today it just glanced its face to the side, closed its eyes, and continued sleeping.

But the next second, Wen Shuqiao picked it up.

Wen Shuqiao said, "I went out to play."

She went out to buy breakfast and took the cake for a walk, so she wouldn't have to go out for a walk later.

Moreover, Shen Jiazhou has been the one walking her these past two days since she came back, while she hasn't even walked Cake yet, and their relationship has become distant.

Wen Shuqiao carried it to the entrance, deftly put a leash on it, and took it out.

It's still very quiet downstairs at this time, with only some elderly men and women exercising.

Wen Shuqiao also planned to run a few steps, but after only two steps, the leash became extremely tight. Looking back, she saw that the cake was standing not far away, motionless.

The middle rope was pulled to the bottom and taut, but it didn't move at all.

Wen Shuqiao tugged at the rope: "Come here."

The cake didn't move, and even yawned in the same spot, looking more sleepy than the person.

Wen Shuqiao had no choice but to turn back. She laughed and said, "I didn't believe Zhouzhou when she said you were lazy before, but now I really believe it."

The cake turned its head to the side, clearly unwilling to listen.

Wen Shuqiao said, "Run a lap with me, and I'll give you a can of meat when we get back."

The cake still wouldn't leave. After hearing what Wen Shuqiao said, it looked down at her, then lay down and continued sleeping with its eyes half-closed.

Wen Shuqiao was startled. She reached out and lifted Cake's chin: "Why are you still sleeping? Are you feeling unwell?"

The cake gave a perfunctory hum, seemingly in response to Wen Shuqiao.

Wen Shuqiao stared at it for a few seconds, and finally gave in: "Come with me to buy breakfast, and then we'll go home."

Cake reluctantly opened her eyes, stood up from the ground, stretched, yawned, and followed Wen Shuqiao.

Wen Shuqiao took one step, and it took one step.

It lacked the liveliness and energy of a puppy; instead, it resembled a tired old dog.

There's a really good steamed bun shop right at the entrance of the residential area. Can Can had been craving it a while ago. There weren't many people there at the moment, so Wen Shu Qiao ordered the food and it was quickly packed up.

As Wen Shuqiao walked back with the cake in her hand, she received a call from Shen Jiazhou.

"Where did you go?" Shen Jiazhou's voice was still a little hoarse, guessing that he had just woken up, but he didn't see anyone when he came out.

Wen Shuqiao said, "I didn't have anything to do, so I came down to buy breakfast. I bought some steamed buns and I'm back now."

"Okay." Shen Jiazhou yawned. "I'll wait for you at home."

After hanging up the phone, Wen Shuqiao slowly walked back with the cake in her hand.

The temperature had already risen considerably by the end of March. She had checked the weather forecast and it was predicted to reach 20 degrees Celsius this weekend, making it a perfect day for a spring outing.

She pursed her lips slightly, lost in thought.

When they got home, Shen Jiazhou had already washed up. He took the breakfast from Wen Shuqiao and said, "Why didn't you tell me you were going out?"

Wen Shuqiao said, "It's downstairs. I was thinking of taking Cake for a walk, but it just lay down and wouldn't move once it got downstairs."

The steamed buns were actually a bit cold, so Shen Jiazhou put them on the steamer, planning to steam them again after Can Can woke up.

He said, "I'll ask Aunt Zhang to make some steamed buns later and put them in the refrigerator. That way it will be more convenient."

More importantly, homemade food is always cleaner than what you get outside.

Wen Shuqiao wiped the cake's feet, put the leash back in its place, and upon hearing Shen Jiazhou's words, went over and hugged him from behind.

She buried her face in his back and took a deep breath: "Okay, you're so virtuous, Zhou Zhou."

Shen Jiazhou chuckled lightly: "Your praise makes me a little embarrassed. Was it a bit too much for me to ask Aunt Zhang to make steamed buns? When I get back tonight, I'll show off my skills. Tomorrow morning's breakfast will be Shen Jiazhou's brand of giant steamed buns, one of them is as good as two."

Wen Shuqiao couldn't help but laugh behind his back.

Shen Jiazhou said, "Don't laugh. Some people always want their lives to be exciting and dramatic. I used to think that way too. But now I feel that life should be simple and peaceful. A family's daily routine is about what to eat, where to go, or maybe a little romance now and then. That can make us happy for a long time."
