There weren't many people at the temple on a weekday.
A family of three strolled hand in hand through the temple.
Can Can looked at the tall and solemn Buddha statues and was a little scared, but she still followed her aunt and uncle's example and obediently kowtowed and offered incense.
The temple was quite large. We walked around and stopped at various places, and finally arrived at the largest prayer tree.
Wen Shuqiao looked up. In every temple, the prayer area was the most bustling. Even though it was a weekday, there were still quite a few people under the prayer tree.
She went and bought three rosewood plaques, and borrowed a pen: "Let's write some too."
Wen Shuqiao looked around and spotted the steps to the side. Shen Jiazhou took off his coat and put it underneath, and the three of them squeezed together.
Can Can also received a pen. He stared intently at the sign in his hand, pondering how he should write.
But he didn't know how to write many words, so he looked left and right, and found that his aunt and uncle had already finished writing.
He scratched his ear and finally asked, "Uncle, what did you write?"
Shen Jiazhou showed him the prayer plaque he had written.
Can Can glanced at it a few times: "Uncle, is this my name?"
Shen Jiazhou nodded: "Yes, Shi Yue."
Can Can read carefully: "I hope our family can..."
Shen Jiazhou suggested, "Health."
"Health," Cancan repeated, "I know those two words, it's happiness!"
Shen Jiazhou gave a thumbs up: "Smart little rascal."
Can Can proudly raised her chin, then asked, "Uncle, why did you write my name? Aren't we family?"
Shen Jiazhou also wrote a message wishing Shen Shiyue good health, happiness, and peace.
Can Can was a little confused.
But his uncle just patted his head and changed the subject: "What are you going to write, baby?"
Can Can blinked, looking a little embarrassed, and said, "Uncle, I can't write."
Actually, his kindergarten teacher, aunt, and uncle all taught him to write, but writing is too difficult, and he can't do it!
Cancan's round eyes darted around before finally settling on Shen Jiazhou again: "Uncle, can you teach me how to write?"
Shen Jiazhou nodded slightly: "Okay, come over here."
Can Can immediately stood up. Shen Jiazhou straightened one leg a little and lowered it a bit, and Can Can very consciously sat down on his lap.
Shen Jiazhou held the hand that was holding the pen in one hand, and used the other hand as a "table" to support the prayer plaque.
Watching the heartwarming scene between the uncle and nephew, Wen Shuqiao quietly took out her phone and pointed the camera at them.
A ray of spring sunshine fell on them, warming the uncle and nephew.
They bowed their heads and wrote down their prayers with great seriousness.
Can Can whispered, "I also want to write that my whole family is happy, healthy, and safe!"
Shen Jiazhou gave a soft "hmm," took his hand, and taught him to write characters stroke by stroke.
Wen Shuqiao looked past the camera and focused her gaze on the two of them.
How heartwarming.
A hint of a smile appeared on Wen Shuqiao's face. She could live out her life in such a warm and peaceful way, and she didn't even dare to imagine how happy she would be.
The uncle and nephew worked hard to finish writing their prayers. Can Can was the first to look up and, seeing her aunt taking pictures with her phone, proudly flashed a bright smile: "Auntie! Look! Uncle helped me write these words!"
As he spoke, Shen Jiazhou also raised his head, looked at the camera, smiled, and silently uttered three words.
--I love you
Wen Shuqiao smiled and silently said: I love you too.
Can Can watched as his aunt's lips moved, but he didn't hear her say anything. He asked in confusion, "Auntie, what did you say? I didn't hear you."
He stepped out of Shen Jiazhou's arms, but after only one step, his uncle grabbed him by the collar and dragged him back.
Shen Jiazhou hugged him tightly: "Where do you think you're going?"
Can Can twisted a couple of times in his uncle's tight embrace, but found that he couldn't break free. He became unhappy again, but he remembered what his aunt had told him before he came in: not to make loud noises.
So he shrieked in a pathetic little voice, "Uncle, let me go."
Shen Jiazhou snorted: "What good would it do to let you go?"
Can Can looked to Wen Shu Qiao for help, pleading pitifully, "Auntie... Uncle is a bad guy."
Just as Wen Shuqiao was about to speak, Shen Jiazhou also turned his gaze over.
The two people looked at her pitifully like two little dogs. Wen Shuqiao closed her eyes and said, "I didn't see anything."
Shen Jiazhou was satisfied, but Cancan was not.
He pouted. He and his aunt were so pitiful, being scolded by their wicked uncle until they couldn't say a word.
Shen Jiazhou lightly patted his butt: "You brat, don't think I don't know what you're thinking."
She was secretly thinking about him in her heart.
Can Can is a very sensible child. He immediately turned his head and denied it, saying, "No, I didn't say anything bad about you."
Wen Shuqiao couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Can Can looked at her aunt with a puzzled expression, not quite understanding why her aunt was laughing.
Shen Jiazhou couldn't help but sigh: "I didn't say you were thinking bad things about me, so what are you admitting?"
What an idiot! This is practically an admission of guilt.
Can Can stared blankly, her eyes wide: "Huh?"
Her mouth was wide open, as if she couldn't quite believe that she had admitted to talking badly about her uncle.
She's a bit cunning, but her cunning is all written on her face.
Can Can said hesitantly, "Uncle, can you just pretend you don't know?"
“It’s hard for your uncle not to know.” Shen Jiazhou pointed to his eyes: “Your uncle’s eyes are like a scanner; he can see your little tricks very clearly.”
