Chapter 434 Wen Zhixia x Shen Jiachen (Part 6)

Shen Jiachen walked towards the bookshelf, but didn't see anyone. He patiently searched among the bookshelves, but still couldn't find anyone.

Instead, I saw a friend who was looking for a book.

A friend asked curiously, "Brother Chen, what are you looking for?"

Shen Jiachen slowly shook his head: "It's nothing."

But then, as if remembering something, he asked, "Does the library have other doors?"

He rarely visits the library at University A. He has a lot of books at home, and even if he doesn't have any, he can just make a phone call and someone will deliver them. He doesn't need to go to the library at all.

My friend nodded: "Yes, turn left from here and you'll find the back door. Why are you asking?"

Shen Jiachen did not answer, but walked quickly in the direction his friend pointed. Sure enough, there was a door there.

Unfortunately, when he went out, that familiar figure was no longer there.

Shen Jiachen pursed his handsome lips slightly, thinking to himself, "If only I hadn't hesitated just now."

He took a deep breath and slowly walked back to the library.

Wen Zhixia was unaware that someone was looking for her at the library. She went to class as usual, ate in the cafeteria, and then rode her bicycle to her part-time job.

Once I arrived at the shop, I handed over my shift to my colleagues on the day shift and then started busily making coffee.

Wen Zhixia gets off work at 10 o'clock, and she can usually start cleaning slowly around 9 o'clock.

She glanced at the time; it was already 8:50. Business at the store was so-so today.

Suddenly, the shop's landline rang. She answered, "Hello, The Coffee."

"Zhixia, it's me. Is anyone in the shop right now?" It was Ningzhen's voice.

Wen Zhixia said, "There's no one here now, sister."

"Do you still have small cakes in the shop?" Ningzhen asked again.

Wen Zhixia glanced at the cabinet: "There are eight pieces left."

The cakes will be half price starting at 9:40.

Ning Zhen said, "Okay, you can pack up and close up now. I'll give you an address later, and you can bring over the eight cakes. I've already transferred the fare to you via WeChat."

"Okay," Wen Zhixia said, "It might take more than half an hour."

"That's about right. You should close up shop as soon as possible," Ning Zhen said before hanging up the phone.

Wen Zhixia went to the back to pick up her phone and glanced at it. She then realized that Ning Zhen had sent her a message and made a phone call five minutes earlier, but she hadn't heard it.

Ning Zhen sent her a location, and when Wen Zhixia clicked on it, it turned out to be the neighborhood where she worked as a tutor.

[Ningzhen: I'll send you the door number later. My brother and his friend are going over after class. You can take a taxi there after you close up shop. Someone will open the door.]

This message was followed by a WeChat red envelope. Wen Zhixia clicked on it and found it contained two hundred yuan.

Actually, a taxi ride there would only cost around twenty yuan, not nearly that much.

She was just about to talk to Ning Zhen when Ning Zhen sent her another message.

[Sister Ningzhen: I'll cover the extra cost as a delivery fee.]

Wen Zhixia stared at those words in silence for a few seconds, then sent a cute emoji: 【Thank you, sis.】

She knew that this was Ning Zhen's good intention.

Wen Zhixia took a deep breath, perked up, and began to pack her things carefully.

When Wen Zhixia arrived at the entrance of the residential area by taxi, it was about the time she had guessed, a little past nine-thirty.

The security guard recognized her and said in surprise, "It's so late, and you still have to come for tutoring?"

As Wen Zhixia walked in, she said, "No, I'm just here to deliver something. I'll probably be out in ten minutes."

The security guard opened the door for her, and Wen Zhixia glanced again at the address Ning Zhen had given her: Building 2...

It seems to be in the building opposite where she tutors, right? Wen Zhixia followed her memory and walked over, and sure enough, she was right.

She walked to the glass door and called Ning Zhen.

The glass door in front of them opened very quickly.

Ning Zhen said: "Just take the elevator on the right and press the button for the sixth floor. The card has already been swiped upstairs."

Wen Zhixia replied "okay" and went inside to press the button for the sixth floor.

The buildings here all have two elevators per household, and Wen Zhixia quickly reached the sixth floor.

She stepped out of the elevator and glanced around the elevator lobby. Compared to her student's home, the lobby was much simpler, with just some green plants, two bicycles, and a basketball in the corner.

I guess they really enjoy sports.

Wen Zhixia walked to the door, rang the doorbell with her free hand, waited for a while, but no one came. She rang it again, waited a while longer, but still no one came.

Wen Zhixia had no choice but to lower her head, open Ning Zhen's WeChat, and was just about to tell her something when...

The door in front of them was pushed open from the inside out.

Wen Zhixia subconsciously raised her head and said, "Hello, Sister Ningzhen asked me to come and deliver... takeout."

Wen Zhixia couldn't help but widen her eyes slightly. Ning Zhen's younger brother is just too handsome!

Besides, she clearly remembered that Ningzhen's younger brother was a high school student, right? Are high school students all over 1.8 meters tall these days?

Wen Zhixia was silently shocked for a moment, but quickly calmed down. She lowered her eyes and stretched out her arm slightly: "Sister Ningzhen asked me to deliver this cake to you."

But his younger brother didn't take it.

Wen Zhixia looked up again with some confusion, and quickly glanced at the door number. It wasn't wrong, it was 206.

Shen Jiachen only snapped out of his daze when he saw her glance at the house number.

Ningzhen did call him and said that some of the kids from the shop would be bringing over a cake, which Jiazhou and the others could have as a late-night snack when they arrived.

But to his surprise, this "little girl" was actually her.

He was disappointed that he hadn't seen her at noon, but unexpectedly, he saw her that evening without any warning.

Shen Jiachen snapped out of his daze and quickly reached out to take the packaged cake: "Okay, thank you, thank you for your trouble."

Wen Zhixia shook her head: "It's no trouble."

She managed to get off work early again.

The cake arrived, and Wen Zhixia said, "Bye-bye."

As Shen Jiachen watched her turn and walk towards the elevator, he couldn't help but speak up, "Um—"

Wen Zhixia stopped and turned to look at him: "Is there anything else?"

Shen Jiachen's Adam's apple bobbed, and for some reason he was a little nervous, his hand holding the cake bag unconsciously clenching tighter.

He asked, "Excuse me, what's your name?"

Wen Zhixia didn't know why he asked her name, but she still replied, "Wen Zhixia."

“Oh… Wen Zhixia.” Shen Jiachen murmured her name.

Wen Zhixia hummed in response, and seeing that he didn't say anything, she pressed the elevator button and went inside.

When Shen Jiachen came to his senses, he only saw the elevator doors about to close.
